- As a foreigner in India I experience trying Indian street food night market for the first time in Mumbai. Delicious non veg meats all the way down the local streets like beef and chicken shish kebabs. Also kind locals invite me to try different things as I explore the market and the mosque at the end of the Islamic night market.

Pudina is the Hindi word for mint leaves. It adds great flavour and also works as a digestive.

4 calcutta betel leaves (paan)
1/8 tsp slaked lime
1/8 tsp paan katha
1/2 tsp paan chutney
2 tsp gulkand
2 tsp fennel seeds
2 tsp dhan dal
1 tsp desiccated coconut
2 tsp chopped dry dates (kharek).
4 cardamoms (elaichi)
4 glace cherry
2 tsp tutti-frutti

i guessed that you used an Indian toilet. Quick tip:- You can use a hand sanitizer, it's available at the Pharmacy.
And we kinda don't use "Achhi Sham". People understand Good Evening also or you can say "Namaste" it can also be used instead of Good Bye or Good Evening too.

It is a very ancient mosque of HAZRAT MAKHDUM SHAH BABA. People pray here to get all their wishes fulfilled. Also across the main road is the church of OUR LADY OF PERPETUAL SUCCOR also where all people gather
every Wednesday for novena to pray.
Dargah means shrine of Muslim saint u are at mahim dargah and u are on shorts 🩳 u can't see the tomb and the uncle was offering u a lungi means a round clothes will hide your legs so u can enter the tomb

Bro that was nat a mosque (masjid) it was a sufi saint tomb Makhdoom Ali Mahimi. Thats why the area is called mahim dargha means tomb(shrine) . Your legs or body must b covered fully to enter

@@_prash first of all that's a sufi dargah which means tomb shrine of a sufi person not a masjid . even if it was, the rules are the same, you should dress appropriately and there's nothing wrong with that rule. If people who pray and worship there has to dress appropriately how it's required to be when you've to pray then why shouldnt the rules apply to a foreigner too. It needs to be equal, everyone should follow the rules of that particular place. That's why he was offered a lungi to wear to cover his legs so he can enter. Also There's no rule that we have to follow what hindus follow regarding their temple rules on who should and shouldn't enter. Cmon these are two different religions ofcourse the rules are going to differ. Actually it's a comparison between Hinduism and sufism ( sufism is not Islam not the same. Sufism is just a sect which has its own rule and it doesn't follow the rules of the Quran and the sunnah properly) I won't be going into detail but making tombs over dead people who were good religious person and praying to them and asking them for soemthing to fulfil your wish, that's not even allowed in Islam. You are commiting shirk if you are doing that becuase if you have put God and a dead man at the same position when they are not. So Basically you are not a Muslim anymore. But most sufis do it unintentionally, they don't know this is not allowed in Islam so some are excused.

Pedro a few suggestions
1) Namaste works mostly any time of the day. No one says “ Achhi Shyam” for good evening. Do not translate everything to Hindi. People might not understand. I know you are trying to learn Hindi. Also watch. Mumbai videos of “ Bald and bankrupt” . He used to communicate with people saying “ Hello Bhaisaab” sab theek?. That is how people usually communicate in Mumbai.
2) when you order food you say “ Ekki” . Not sure where you learnt that. People say either Ek plate, or if tea it will be “Ek cup.”
3) Alvida is not very common. “Phir mileage” is mostly used. It is kind of not good to say good bye, instead people say we meet again.

Restaurants like Gajalee, Mahesh Lunch Home and Trishna ..amazing Bombay Duck Fish Fry and Pomfret Curry .. dude you'll pick your fingers .... Real tasty Mumbai food is in the restaurants.. the occasional street food scene is ok but trust me when I say this ... I'll recommend some more restaurants .. barbeque Nation for its amazing all you can eat barbecue and buffet .. Britannia for the amazing persian influenced Parsi food ... Please I request you .. get off the streets and cheap vendors ..
