- Living alone in the Philippines as a millennial and a breadwinner is expensive. In today's video, I will share my monthly expenses, personal budgeting steps, and why I think rent is not wasted.
Note that the amount I will mention is for this year. Last year was different since I was traveling and my rent was cheaper. Also, I needed to buy tools and equipment before moving to the city.

Recently I had to step up and be in a way the breadwinner for my family which is something I’ve never done before so it’s been a little rough trying to figure out all of my finance and expenses but I always appreciate finding videos like yours that help give me advice it really does help !

I'm so glad I came across your vid! I also lived alone before while being a breadwinner (I still am) and I know how HARDDD it is to manage finances. Grabe iyak ko when I realized you're just glad your dad is alive kahit mabigat sa finances yon. My mom has cancer and even though hindi masyadong magastos dahil sa public kami, alam ko gano kahirap 😭

My god, such a young age! I think you are the same age as my younger sibling, and I can't imagine passing all of these burdens to her. I'm not saying it is wrong to help your parents, but you need to be prepared to handle it mentally. If no one tells you this yet, I am so proud of you and admire you for your hard work! And I know you will have that job soon, just focus and be patient with yourself :)

Hello, no worries. Actually, we're in a hybrid setup, and I'm still in my one-year rent contract. Last year, I was in an apartment, and this year, I'm in a condo. I hope that if I can move again, I will also find the same benefits with lower rent. But my non-negotiable is pet-friendly, and honestly, in Manila, especially with apartment types, most of them are not pet-friendly :(

as much as I want to say it but sorry I cant. but I hope that to get some idea from the video ☺️ . and also before I start living alone, I looked for a cheaper rent first because the first 3-6 months of living alone is mostly buying things that you need. And then emergency fund is a must too in case that something happened and we need to cover the rental fee. Goodluck on your journey ✨

Hello, po. Yes, I availed myself of the lifetime premium version, but that was a long time ago because I've been using it for years now, and I think the price back then was lower.
I have had 5k plus rent before, but I also saw lower rent than that. I think it also depends on how we budget since we need to allocate for food, utilities, and maintenance as long as we do not have any other priorities other that ourselves and the rent is cheaper but secured.
Wow and I thought my Ate's salary (8500 php) as a single mother with 5 kids was a lot..
