What kind of OLED Monitors does consumers most desire: a Glossy 32" 4K Display What kind of OLED Monitors does manufacturers offer: Everything EXCEPT a 32" 4K (Glossy or Matte)
Man this pops right up as I was debating buying an oled monitor with these black friday deals, or wait for next year. I decided to bite the bullet on a samsung 49" G9 Oled, due to it being on sale atm on amazon for $999.
The OLED G9 is newer. Confusing Samsung naming schemes though. They’ve got, in order of release, the Odyssey G9 (original 49” VA), the Odyssey Neo G9 (same with mini LED) and then the Odyssey OLED G9 (oled model with 240Hz).
LG Display have plans for a 45” ultrawide with 5120 x 2160 res and 165Hz at some point so that’s quite close to what you’re after tftcentral.co.uk/news/monitor-oled-panel-roadmap-updates-march-2023
I crossed out Asus 32" QD-OLED because only comes with DP 1.4; Alienware is curved, so would ignore that as well. 4K 240hz, DP 2.1 is a must if you don't want to lose color depth with DSC.
The curve isn't too bad on the Alienware but DP2.1 is a dealbreaker. These monitors are an extreme edge of performance and resolution, there's no point getting one that won't last.
I feel like people will never be happy. I’ve never heard anybody complaining about DP type up until recent months when the news monitors were announced.
There are plans for them but further in the future and no screens announced featuring those yet. See this video for more info OLED monitors are getting even better! The latest OLED panel roadmaps and news ua-cam.com/video/RvqcPyZ6ges/v-deo.html
My dream monitor is a motorized flat-800R 45" 21:9 5120 x 2160 1kHz OLED w/DP 2.x and Ultra G-Sync module. Hopefully they'll have something close with the RTX 5090 launch. I already have both the 45" 240Hz Corsair Flex and 34" 175Hz Alienware OLED monitors. CPU-Z J8P8UR / 9MM3CZ
4k 32" oled... what kind of graphic cards will you need, I mean I got a 7800X3D + RTX4090 playing one game in particular where hovering around the maximum fps (the Alienware ultrawide 34 inches) of 165fps is barely possible. Going 4k and wanting way over 250fps, I mean... damn! Hoping you'll be using some DLSS/FSR technique to acheive such fps!
If you wait for the new monitors you’re going to have to pay through the nose or have to wait for a year or two before they become more affordable because there will be something “new” on the horizon that you might want. If you got the money now and want to enjoy it now then go for it. Good sales right that put most OLED monitors and TVs into “reasonable” price ranges. I don't understand why monitors 32" and above are mostly widescreen. Just, why?? Also, why are we stuck at 1440p for most of these? Is it a manufacturing problem where they can't reliably make monitors at 4k at sizes 32" and above? My Asus PG 42 UQ is excellent, and would be better only with a refresh above 144. Why don't we see something like that coming? FWIW, I avoid widescreen due to: 1. Game support is still spotty at Widescreen res. It's been getting better though. 2. You can't stream at widescreen res. You can't even downscale from Widescreen to 16:9 in software like OBS. You're just stuck not streaming or playing in a reduced res so you can stream.
It’s just our gut feel on it. Maybe we will be surprised but it seems too early to us based on panel availability. Although they were first to market with original 34” AW3423DW. Time will tell 😀
Have a 32" 4K 144hz and 27" 1440 180hz IPS LCD and while I can get a 27" 1440 240hz OLED, the price is a bit much, and will wait for either 32" 4K 240hz or 27" 1440 360hz OLED to flatten out the market. Will decide then between the options
I do not recommend the Alienware 3423 DWF, which I have returned. I've purchased Dell monitors for 15 years, including early LCDs, and they always "cut corners." The DWF had no screen protection and the scuffs and scratches on the viewing surface was bothersome, but the largest issue was the incessant high pitched "whine" coming out of the thing from sitting distance that was like living in a room full of mosquitos. Studies now show that being subjected to abrasive and disruptive noises, for instance living under and airline route, for long periods of time has a negative impact on stress response, generalized anxiety, and sleep quality. The first 20" Ultrasharp LCD I bought actually got "burn in" out of the blue. Supreme Commander's HUD burned into the edges of the screen. Getting support from Dell was a nightmare. I've never had any screen, including my 16 year-old Plasma, have burn-in and it happened to a Dell LCD! Please don't reward Dell for cutting costs by putting in cheaper components or insufficient care. My current 25" Ultrasharp will be my last Dell (also has a whine, but not as audible from sitting distance as the DWF).
Manufacturers of OLED manufacturers are “gouging” so we all need to tell them to “stick it” until they come down to earth and become reasonable. If you pay their inflated prices (and this goes for NVIDIA as well) you are simply encouraging them. If we “don’t buy,” they’ll stop their bull$#!+ and lower their prices. No one should have to pay more than $300 for a monitor or about the same for a GPU. 90% of this nonsense is simply obscene profit margins. Vote with your pocketbook. Pay thousands to play computer games full of cheating losers who ruin our good times? I don’t think so.
i'm looking for a glossy wqhd ultrawide qd oled with a 1000r or more curv (with more i mean more curved not a higher number) with a resonable pixel density but i can't find one
34” is a superior experience vs 4k. My alienware DW is perfect. It also has less pixels so my 4080 can always max it out. I worry about the possible dropping of g-sync ultimate in newer models.
That's what I've been wondering, why would anyone go for 4K 16:9 when 1440p 21:9 has less pixels to run, you can see more and the clarity difference isn't even that big. I'm still on 1080p myself, looking to upgrade in the next couple of years.
1000R curve on the 32 inch OLED or nothing at all. The curve is one of the reasons I have the Neo G8 but, I have to wonder if Samsung is going to fix the AMD Freesync Premium Pro and HDR issue.
Dont buy now, wait for 4k oled in early 2024. Then itll be 4k oled is too expensive and dont risk being an early adopter. So Wait 6 months more. Then it'll be wait another 6 months for the 820hz panel technogy. Then thatll be too early and expensive, so wait for quantim oled+ to come out. Then ill be in a retirement home with dementia wishing I just upgraded my 1440p ultrawide in the first place for an IPS which frankly I would have been smitten with but the internet told me otherwise.
They need to start making 24/25 inch OLEDs.. tired of seeing these big ass monitors. Nobody need anything bigger than already enormous 27inch.. just buy 85 inch TV for the immersion.
You speak of Dough / Eve with such a confidence like this is a real company. Please check your sources and don't reinforce for general public that this is a legit company. They will take customers money and not deliver, as usual.
WOLED is sadly still the king for longevity, because it burns in the slowest. The problem is, Asus was the only one that released one worth buying, but did so in an ugly shell. The rest out there are just too limited in their output brightness to be considered true HDR displays.
Obvious spoiler : wait for 2024, we don't want these first OLED with flat colors/poor smoothness and mostly this poor sharpness due to these hard matte coating.
Before buy dell Alienware get Dell care if they ship it and it breaks they don’t cover shit make sure you have Dell care before ever owning Dell product over just stay away from them
That’s covered in the linked news piece about their screen for anyone who goes off to find additional info. I’d be cautious about pre order timescales as development is alway tricky and these things always slip, but buying from retail is at least now a lot more reliable with their screens in major retailers like Amazon, B&H etc
I would just skip the 1st generation 4k 240Hz monitors in 2024 and wait for their sucessors in 2025. It's the best time to buy due to RTX 5090 and Arrow lake.
I’m going to sale my 2022 Samsung 55” QD-OLED TV and buy the best 2024 32” OLED monitor I can afford next year. My 55” OLED is just to big for my 4 foot viewing distance and I want the even higher picture quality of way more pixel density of a 32” 4K with even higher frame rates then the 120 fps I’m getting now. That Alienware 32” 4K with the curved glossy screen looks sick but I’m not sure I would like the curved screen so hopefully they have a flat option as well. With my budget I will probably end up with a Samsung 32” 4K QD-OLED that’s in the $1000 price point and I will probably be extremely happy with it.
If OLED ever solves burn in. Like proper solves it so I can do office work for 8 hours a day. I will go out on that day and drop like 2k on all new monitors.
If you are techy and care about longevity, you wont buy oled. Because the heat management isn't there yet and company refuses to implement any dedicated heat management system in favor of slim designs. So yep, ips is the way to go.
It won’t have DisplayPort 2.1. All this nonsense though online about this topic. Neither need it, both can run 4K 240Hz 10-bit fine with DP 1.4 and DSC

The 540Hz Asus screen is really great for gaming. We’ve got a full review on the site if you’ve not seen it already 😀
Heya, i've read it already and it is why im convinced on buying despite it being a TN panel at 1080p. Keep up the stellar work! @@tftcentral
@@tftcentral 0.5kHz monitors. photo realistic games like Unrecord. what a day and age to be alive. I hope humans make good use of AI technology (0% chance).
Where is the update for 42' monitors? Will anything dethrone the PG42UQ as the best 42' monitor?
Currwntly using at 32" 2k and im happy with that pixel density. Really wish theres a oled one at that res and density
32” 2k 360hz oled 🤲
I hope these new OLED monitors come with robust anti-blur technologies in them.
Yeah I’d love to see BFI make a good return on OLED!
I just bought the Asus PG27AQDM a month ago... amazing display!
Pc i would not touch any oled
100% wait until more Oleds come out, they're so far superrior than everything else.
Where are the 27 inch 4k OLED displays? No coming until 2025??
Not expected until 2025, no
@@tftcentral it's unfortunate :/
I don't understand why monitors 32" and above are mostly widescreen. Just, why?? Also, why are we stuck at 1440p for most of these? Is it a manufacturing problem where they can't reliably make monitors at 4k at sizes 32" and above?
My Asus PG 42 UQ is excellent, and would be better only with a refresh above 144. Why don't we see something like that coming?
FWIW, I avoid widescreen due to:
1. Game support is still spotty at Widescreen res. It's been getting better though.
2. You can't stream at widescreen res. You can't even downscale from Widescreen to 16:9 in software like OBS. You're just stuck not streaming or playing in a reduced res so you can stream.
Bought now got the neo g9 qd oled for 1,099$ it’s amazing that glossy screen is crazy gaming is incredible put my asus 27” oled up for sale
Waiting for that AW 1440p 360hz
LG needs to release an OLED version of their 38" LCD panel... ie 3840x1600. 3440x1440 in a 39" format? No thanks.
I’d like that too 👍
NOOOOO dont say the Dell monitors will release Q2.
Ive have been saving for the 1440p 360hz model in anticipation of it releasing in Jan 2024.
No none exist yet. It remains to be seen how curved their new 34” panel for next year will be
34” is a superior experience vs 4k.
@@FINtr0ll99 yes it was a fantastic idea
its curved...pass
@@phreakisop9810curved is the new normal. Fantastic screens!
I won’t wait because I don’t need 4k and if I buy it now I will pretty much have the newest monitor and the price of lg 27GR95QE is dropping
You speak of Dough / Eve with such a confidence like this is a real company. Please check your sources and don't reinforce for general public that this is a legit company. They will take customers money and not deliver, as usual.
27" 240Hz LG is the better pick, not sure why the other was recommended. Slightly brighter? LOL
HDMI 2.0 🤮
Very Disappointing: I only need a most rudimentary, basic monitor _but I want OLED!_ So I'm being forced to buy gaming features I have no use for.
I want pc for 2000€ with gpu either 7900xtx or rtx 4080 but it useless if i can't get 4k monitor (and 4 k monitors are hella expensive 😭😭)
WAIT FOR THAT 4K 32INCH MAN....i got a 45inch lg oled its great buttttttttttt 4k got me drooling
I'm really waiting 3840x1600 resolution 21:9 OLED monitor in 38" and above sizes.
The Asus pg27aqdm would’ve been perfect if it was qled and not woled
Before buy dell Alienware get Dell care if they ship it and it breaks they don’t cover shit make sure you have Dell care before ever owning Dell product over just stay away from them
Wow that timing. I literally bought the Alienware 34dwf a few days ago for 600 bucks. Great deal, great monitor.
600? That's a steal. Lucky bastad :)
@@sprocket5526 Absolutely. I was lucky af with that one.
Whereeeeeeee
@@edcenatus9825 Switzerland. A good deal off + we're a vendor so we get 5-10% anyway. 30 % off in total, was extremely lucky.
I hope this year the alienware ultrawide oled falls into 600- 700$ price range. That would be a great price for a monitor.
Any mention of Dough should come with a massive warning about their MO.
That’s covered in the linked news piece about their screen for anyone who goes off to find additional info. I’d be cautious about pre order timescales as development is alway tricky and these things always slip, but buying from retail is at least now a lot more reliable with their screens in major retailers like Amazon, B&H etc
I dont understand why oled monitors are nearly 1k at 27" when tvs are 600 at 43". And do they have hdmi 2.1?
You should wait for 2077 because by that time OLEDs most definitely be cheaper
Really nice video, got me excited to see what next year has to offer in terms of new monitors
Hoping the price of 27 inch 1440p models continues to drop!
I waited 15 years for oled to become cheap and bought LG A2 last year.
just wait.
What about burning problem
Burn in makes no sense to wait for OLED first gen will have problems for gaming monitors you will see
I couldn't wait and just bought an LG C3 42". it's an amazing monitor/tv.
I did the same
@@chrish3370 i just hope they dont add MLA to the C4 bc ill have to return it then
I’m waiting for 2034. Kind regards, The doubter
I would just skip the 1st generation 4k 240Hz monitors in 2024 and wait for their sucessors in 2025. It's the best time to buy due to RTX 5090 and Arrow lake.
Until a 27" 360hz 1440p Glossy QD Oled come out from Alienware, ill just stick with my Asus Pg27aqn.
The models from Asus and MSI will be flat if that’s what you’re after. I agree curved is not great on a screen that size
Meh, i hoped for something like 32" 2560x144.
The the angle you used makes it look like you have silly hair. Once you see it you can’t unsee it.
If OLED ever solves burn in. Like proper solves it so I can do office work for 8 hours a day. I will go out on that day and drop like 2k on all new monitors.
I just want a 4k bright oled 27 inch with 144hz+
If you are techy and care about longevity, you wont buy oled. Because the heat management isn't there yet and company refuses to implement any dedicated heat management system in favor of slim designs. So yep, ips is the way to go.
I just hope the Alienware one will have DisplayPort 2.1. The Asus only has 1.4 and can’t even output native 4K 240 or even comes close to
It won’t have DisplayPort 2.1. All this nonsense though online about this topic. Neither need it, both can run 4K 240Hz 10-bit fine with DP 1.4 and DSC
I need an 27' 4k glossy oled monitor so lets see what the future has to offer
34 inch FLAT ultra wide PLEASE
Waiting for 34" 5k:2k ultrawide oled
You'd be mad to trust ordering anything from Dough.
All next yesrs gpus will have display port 2.1, yet monitors still only dp 1.4 qnd rarely any 4k oled monitors under 32. Displays are so far behind technology, compared to where we are. I just want a 27" 4k oled with actual proper hdr, thats displayport2.1
using eve spectrum 4k now for almost a year i think oled for me will be on 2025 until the tech will get mature. my plan for 2024 will be atleast a miniled with atleast a thousand dimming zone because its cheaper than oled
What is the deal with all these 1440p panels that bring nothing new? Where are the 5040x2160 OLED panels at?
Well they do bring higher refresh rates and improved panels. For the size (27”), people don’t generally need or want higher resolution too
