    Karen, I absolutely love your videos. To me you are the ultimate home sewist. You have a tremendous sense of style and color. I love how you are brave with your patterns and change them up to work for your desires. I also love how you change techniques to suit your standards as well. You set such a great example for sewists out there. Keep up the great work. This was an inspiring review.

    Wow! Your sewing is so well done. They are all lovely pieces added to your wardrobe.😍 I have tried your favourite pattern Simplicity 1538 but when I cut the front bands on the bias, they went all wavy and doesn't look very nice. Any ideas on how to stop that?

    • @cookeka
      @cookeka  Рік тому +1

      Hello Sheree, thank you for watching and providing feedback. I am happy you tried it. Any fabric cut on the bias will stretch very easily. I am extremely careful when cut on the bias, and I set aside until ready to be sewed. I also try not to stretch during sewing. That helps. Keep trying with test fabric until it improves.

    • @myinnermagpie
      @myinnermagpie Рік тому +1

      Maybe unpick the bias strip and steam it so it shrinks again. Steam your garment and bias strip to remove any shrinkage that you can. Then resew, keeping in mind that your bias strip might still be too long. If you do shorten the bias steaming might help it not to shrink so much when you layer wash your garment.

    Mid year sewing review! Such a great video to watch. All your makes are fabulous.
    You showed us that first patterned dress in the beginning of the year how you like it on the dress form but not on you. Believe it is a blue with some white. For some reason that particular pattern overtakes you when it is on. Maybe shorten the sleeves a little so more if you is showing. Just a thought because none of your makes should ever stay in your closet! Your workmanship needs to be on display.
