Mmh, what a lovely song! Giverny is a relatively small parish/ hamlet of approx 500 people in the east south-east of the French region of Normandy! Giverny is propably most known for the well known French impressionist Claude Monet, who owned a house there back in the late 19th. and the early 20th. century and it`s the place where he actually created and painted his famous series of paintings of and around "The Water Lillies"!
spectacular french village , with a memorial to lancaster bomber crew who died when crashing on fire in a meadow, WW2 ,THE VILLAGERS maintain a memorial in the parish churchyard it is absolutely spotless, average age of the crew 21 yrs old. MONETS GARDEN well worth a visit as is the surrounding area. the song catches the very essence of the village, Chris as ever on top form wally pearson
