I remember the taxi that I was in playing this song, back in 2004 as a single mother of a few months old baby girl. I was unemployed, living at home with my parents, I was on my way to the department of labour to look for employment opportunities. Today, my daughter is 20 years old. I still have a long way to go but at least I’m heading somewhere, I have since gotten married, I have roof over my head, I’m employed, I drive. I have a dredger…I remember how this sing motivated and encouraged me that day

But even back then when I listen this song I knew I will make it, gonna do it anyway!. I'm no longer drinking alcohol, no longer smoking... I promised myself I'll keep my head up and look forward to the bright future.

As a simple old Gay human, wow! First time I heard this song was in 1987, during the choas in the world byibi Siffre. Stopped me in my tracks, how in the choas how we were so connected by truth of submission of those telling us we were not enough! Not knowing in that time we had it, and we're more than eough! And yet it's 2024 and here we all are here fighting to just live. Love who you love, be the best of you, but told your not good enough by their standards. Thank you for giving a old Gay Man a reason to believe in living again. The battle seems never over.
