- It has been 17 months since I had a stoke.
This moment was surreal. I knew I had the beautiful voices of Sunnyboy and Masabane supporting me - it make a difference that I wasn’t alone.
The RMB Starlight Classics is one of the few stages I was keen to go back to - performing with an orchestra and South Africa’s finest musicians and singers - I was willing to try. . . And it worked out !
I still have a long way to go before I’m able to sing a full concert, but it’s moments like this that show you that you are making progress ❤️👌🏾🙏🏾.

I am so proud of you for your amazing performance. You have shown the world that nothing can stop you from pursuing your passion and sharing your beautiful voice with us. You are an inspiration to me and many others who have faced challenges in life.
I know how hard it must have been for you to recover from the stroke that affected your speech and language faculties. You have worked tirelessly with your therapists and doctors to regain your abilities and confidence. You have overcome so many obstacles and never gave up on your dreams.
Your performance was a testament to your courage, resilience, and talent. You sang with such emotion and grace that I was moved to tears 😢❤.
You are a star, Lira. And as South Africa we will always be here to support you and keep you in our prayers. Glory to Jesus Christ for the testimony He has shown through you.
