Almost 10 years have passed, yet still this game gives me goosebumps.
It's a masterpiece. I was never into racing games, I am an FPS fan, but when I saw my friend playing this, hearing that amazing soudntrack, watching a god damn plane crashing into race track... I was blown away. Bought it and still playing it for 10 years straight.

To this day, I still believe Split/Second is the best racing game ever made. Also very underrated, and unfortunately got released alongside made many more games that overshadowed it.
Truth. I went to my one & only midnight release of a game ... Split/Second. Red Dead Redemption was also being released that night. There must have been like 10-15 people at the store. I was the only person there for S/S.
I only have one criticism about the game and that is the fact they should add a handbrake button, drifting would be much more fun in that game with a handbrake

Agreed. Other games were crap. There were eleven tracks. For an ultimate "Boss Level" contest to complete the game there should have been a two lap race combining all of the tracks in one EPIC race!
My friends and I dubbed this game, "Michael Bay racing." The gameplay and soundtrack always gives me a rush!

Steve Emney, one of the main composers for this soundtrack, also composed the soundtrack for Burnout 1 and Burnout 2: Point of Impact, the latter being one of my favorite games and having a top-notch soundtrack. It's no surprise that this game has an awesome soundtrack.
That guitar riff! Beyond epic! I love this soundtrack.

holy shit.. I usually listen this song while I do the elite races and my matches don't go longer than 4:00, so anyways I kept on listening this time and that guitar that kicks in at 4:54 is fucking awesome.
It's got some real "Flash meets Cobra 11" feels...

Reminds me of when I was working so hard to beat the game and get all golds on all the seasons. Only one remains silver to this day, just the one, but I can live with that xD Love the music.
Hanzo FX350 is well and good, but Ryback Firestorm (obtained via getting all gold medals) is also a good car to add to the collection.
I use Cobretti Slipstream myself, but those are good cars, too.
