ILHC this year was held in the historical Alhambra Ballroom in Harlem, New York. We had the chance to celebrate, meet and listen to the elders. Being able to partecipate was a very giving and humbling experience. Big thanks to the organizers and staff for making this edition so memorable for all participants. This is some of the rounds of the NORMAlizer battle, in honor of Ms Norma Miller. What a rollercoaster!!! I wasn’t sure we were even going to be able to compete. The previous day I had injured my toe and knowing that we had both the classic and the battle left I felt so helpless and frustrated. Fortunately our friend Bennie (theeee best!!!) was there to help me with the toe and taped it before both contests. Thank you Bennie🧡Looking back I’m grateful that we did it.

To think of the months and years of practice it takes to reach such heights, few people really know each other like Nils and Bianca do. They know exactly what the next move is, where his or her hand will be, and what they should be doing. The fact that she looks like a rag doll is quite on purpose, she’s like an Olympic gymnast!
Yeah, but SHE’S the one who still has to take the landing. She the cadence that leads to the next movement. That’s why a man compliments a woman in dance. SOMEONE has to be the girl. (Unless you are doing the binary dance!).@@CooeeChris1

Well deserved victory! Never tire of watching Nils and Bianca. They brought the heat and then some! And the cheeky smile from Nils around the 3:30 mark 😅 I love that they have such playful and fierce facial expressions mixed thru their routines and they just have a style of their own that shines thru. New steps and aerials too! Congrats!!!

It’s gotta be like running a 4 minute mile. I don’t know how Nils & Bianca work out the stunts, but they move right into crazy dance steps without a beat. Always a stunning dance.

It seems to me back a few years ago, Nils and Bianca did not do so many lifts, and the lifts are getting more and more creative and complex. Its just amazing now, like Nils is tossing a doll around. Incredible.

You dance with such ease as if, at the speed and including the lifting figures, it was nothing more than making yourself a sandwich or putting on a pair of pants.
But there is a lot of work behind it, training from morning to night and repeating individual steps for hours.
