How to Fix Silver Snow

  • Silver Snow is easily the least original route in all of Fire Emblem Three Houses. With almost no exclusive content and a really bland story, there is currently no reason to play Silver Snow (other than to unlock Funeral of Flowers, which is actually really good).
This video will discuss the current state of Silver Snow and its many problems. Then, I attempt to revise the route so that it is a more original and (hopefully) enjoyable experience. This new route includes a playable Rhea, two brand new chapters, and a revision of some of the clone levels from Verdant Wind. The story focuses on Rhea learning to accept the loss of her people and gaining the courage to return to her life as Saint Seiros.

CORRECTION: Silver Snow was developed before Verdant Wind, so saying Silver Snow is a copy is misleading. Its more accurate to call Silver Snow “an inferior version” of Verdant Wind, which is the main point I was trying to make. Thanks to the comments that pointed this out

"Inferior version" is kind of stretching since VW is essentially just Silver Snow with Claude thrown into it and a random ass unrelated endgame.

@@CatManThree The two routes aren't that different, but Verdant Wind does have an exclusive character with unique classes and one more chapter than Silver Snow. Also Claude being the protagonist helps the story a great deal imo.

@@Armads4Prez Yeah gameplaywise it was definitely lacking for various reasons. Storywise it could have been WAY better but its nothing offensively bad.
I definitely don't agree that Verdant Wind is better though. Way I see it is Verdant Wind is tragically disappointing and suffers immensely from the copy paste of a route that has nothing to do with it. That's just my opinion though.

Armads4Prez based on Cindered Shadows they might as well made as well expanded that into The 5 path because the DLC does not even line up with the main story.. the Ashen wolves do not even recognize the Professor and the Ashen wolves do not even know that much about each other's history.. compared to the DLC that Ashen Wolves in the Cindered Shadows were more familiar and closer to each other. Another valid point is that the Ashen Wolves Considered Byleth, Dimitri, Claude, Edelgard, Ashe, Hilda, Linhardt Friends.. Do Not Get Me Started With Jeralt He Would Be furious with Rhea Regarding Sitri.😂😂😂 It Would makes Things Worse or Rhea have No Choice to Reveal Everything about Sitri and Byleth.
Do Not Get Me Wrong, i Like The DLC.. But It Could Of Been More if it Was More Consistent... realistically speaking Tje DLC is just as Canon as the other four paths.. we basically have 5 timelines.. 6 if Rhea ends up Dying in Sliver Snow if You Do Not A Support her... 7 If Do Not Dedue paralogue in Blue Lions Route.. If Do Not Dedue Does Not Survive The Timeskip.
I do not see how it's possible for a sequel to Made unless they give it the Ocarina of Time treatment and Sequels Based On Three Houses Paths... That Could Potentially profit.
However the Crimson flower ending makes No Sense.. I feel It Would Make sense oz Rhea Was Overwhelming Byleth and Edelgard.. Forcing Byleth To Overtax The Crest of Flame To Deal The Finishing Blow On Rhea.... But as Result Of Overtaxing it.. The Creststone Is Destroyed....Byleth survived because of His partial Natabean heritage and Being Sothis Vessal.... Meanwhile Sothis who partially remebering the past comfort and Guide The Departed Souls killed in Battle and proceed gives Rhea A Long Tongue Lashing on How Damage She Did.. But Gives Her Some Love in Seeing Her Daughter again.. Only to reprimand her again For An Idiot.... Cycle Repeats.

As greedy as it sounds, I wish Nintendo and Intelligent Systems would make a Deluxe Edition of Fire Emblem so they can fix Silver Snow, flesh out the problems in the other Routes, and maybe do a little bit more with the Ashen Wolves (that last one may be a bit of a REAAACH, but like I said: I'm greedy).

Silver Snow is the only route who's ending properly explains Byleth's birth. You get see the crest stone in Byleth's heart at the end of Crimson Flower, and Rhea briefly covers the topic in Verdant Wind, but here you get her full presentation about how she created vessels to put the stone in to, how their parents coming together created the perfect host, and what happened to Byleth's mom. Even though it isn't too hard for the player to put it together themselves, this is the route exclusive lore dump it gives you.
You seem to reference throughout the video that Silver Snow a 'knockoff Verdant Wind'. In actuality, Silver Snow was the first route the developers worked on, and afterwards it became the base structure for Verdant Wind and Azure Moon. This also explains why Crimson Flower has less content, as they weren't able to use Silver Snow a template.
Silver Snow feels lackluster because Azure Moon and Verdant Wind basically have the exact same plot but with more characterization. Yes they could have gone back and gave it more features to stand out, but they had to make content cuts as is, so I doubt we would have seen it.
TLDR Three houses is Neopolotin, and Silver Snow is the vanilla.

I'm pretty sure that Rhea was planned to be playable all along, but due to development constraints she was cut. There's evidence in-game and from early leaks (which got almost everything else right, including the time skip long before we knew about the time skip) that she was supposed to be playable.
The easiest way to fix these routes is to make Rhea playable in Silver Snow, replace Gronder on Silver Snow rather than skip that month, and swap final levels between Silver Snow and Verdant Wind.
All of the character development and everything can still be present, including Rhea still continuing to try and bring back Sothis through Byleth until Rhea has her own revelations just like the video suggests.
As fun as it would be to go ALL IN on replacing stuff, not all of it is necessary. Just making Rhea the Lord of the route and swapping the VW/SS final bosses would be enough.

My friend played this version and he framed the narrative as helping Ferdinand lead a rebellion against Edelgard to overthrow her. I quite liked this idea as Ferdinand's was always trying to challenge Edelgard for the position of Emperor. I think it would have been really cool if after the timeskip, Ferdinand gets promoted to a Lord rank (with increased stat boosts) and becomes the central lord of that route.
I don't know of this was ever done in older games, but the idea of Three Houses taking a supporting character with established motivation and then promoting him to main character sounds really cool. And you could still have Rhea be a really important character too. It's just that now Ferdinand can become the central political character the Avatar and Rhea rally around. And because we lost Hubert and Edelgard, Ferdinand and Rhea could replace both of them.
We could get some awesome exploration of both Ferdinand and Rhea this way, with Rhea focusing on the introspective and lore aspects of the route while Ferdinand takes care of the main plot of defeating the Empire. And this might conflict with your video a bit, but I think fighting Edelgard should be the main story. Because the big emotional hook of this path is having to fight against your prized student.
Everyone who played Black Eagles loves Edelgard because they explored her character so well in the first half of the game. No one wanted to kill her even if they sided against her. My friend for instance was emotionally devastated after the plot twist, he actually stopped playing for a bit, he was that torn up. This should be the focus of the plot post-timeskip because it's the only branch in the entire game that can explore such a question: What do you do when you have to fight someone you care about?

If he was more like Felix (towards Dimitri), then that would make sense. You would also need to explain why he is standing against her, now, whereas in all other timelines, he is fighting alongside the empire.
Personally, I don't like Ferdinand or at least he is the most forgettable of the Black Eagles class and his war design does not suit him, at all. He is very "generic", for lack of a better word. I welcome chances to improve him, though.

I do think it would be cool to have ferdinand be the one to try and overthrow edelgard, but the branching paths mean it's difficult to have both routes exist without forcing players into potentially useless objectives

By splitting the eagles, it would add some emphasis that this is the church route by giving the church units an opportunity to be used instead of the eagles.

If you are the kind of player that does not find satisfaction in killing your former monastery students, then the Silver Snow route is perfect. Out of all four routes, the Monastery Route gives players the opportunity to avoid wallowing in despair after killing former friends, colleagues, and students in battle. Since most of the church faculty and Black Eagles students will remain by Byleth’s side after Edelgard’s betrayal, this leaves only a handful of former students to fight against and most can be actually recruited if defeated by Byleth in battle.

I may be greedy for saying this, but I would've liked a couple of chapters of Crimson Flower dedicated to Byleth and Edelgard fighting TWSITD, before going for their final battle with Rhea. Maybe after the siege on Arianrhod (I probably didn't spell it right), Lord Arundel orders an Agarthan missile to destroy the fort in an attempt to kill Byleth, not really caring if Edelgard and the rest of the Imperial Army become casualties, Lord Arundel in the next chapter confronts Edelgard on why Byleth is still alive, Edelgard infers that it was him who sent the missile, then Arundel admits he did want to kill Byleth, not just for killing Cornelia who was their mole in the Kingdom, but because the mindset of the Agarthans are: "Fuck the Fell Star and they deserve to die a gruesome death." Essentially turning TWSITD against the Empire. Then when the Black Eagle Strike Force go to Shambahla, Arundel removes his disguise and is revealed to be Thales. After his death, Byleth and Edelgard then head to the Tailtean Plains to meet Dimitri in battle. Like I said, I might be greedy for wanting something more out of Crimson Flower, but I still like it more than Silver Snow.

People keep saying Seteth is the Lord in Silver Snow, but I don't think that's true. The real lord in silver snow is Byleth. he/she is the one leading the church in Rhea's absence. And in the context of silver snow, Byleth becomes the ruler of Fodlan since the Empire, Kingdom, and alliance are all left with a power vacuum that only the archbishop can fill. Heck, Rhea practically names Byleth archbishop before the time skip.

Having a player avatar works for games like dark souls, where the focus of the narrative is on the world around the avatar, or undertale, where the many many choices you make allow you to insert yourself into the character you play, but for something like three houses where there is a heavy focus on character a player avatar makes the story less engaging due to how few points there are where your decisions actually effect where the story goes.

  • @PantheonFefnir
    @PantheonFefnir 3 роки тому +9

I think the issue isn't so much that Silver Snow doesn't have a Lord, or that the "Lord" is Seteth, because it does have a non-Seteth lord: the problem is that it's Byleth, the objectively worse choice for a Lord in 3H. I know we all like to give Corrin shit - and fairly well-deserved at that, don't get me wrong - but Byleth is an even worse choice for a focal Lord than them because of the decision to make them an effectively silent protagonist, with them only being allowed dialogue options that are not allowed to meaningfully impact the story's direction or flow.
I'd actually argue that Seteth, contrary to what you'd argue, isn't a bad character and isn't lacking in potential to make for a decent lead character. He's got a lot going for him, like how he strongly questions Rhea's many decisions and believes their society is backwards in many ways, yet at the same time knows much about her past and actions, and is probably the person she's closest to (outside of Insert Nameleth-kun) If anything, I feel, Silver Snow (and the time skip in general) neuters Seteth - because Rhea is absent and he's forced to be one of the primary voices of concern in trying to find her, he's not allowed to really explore his more contrary opinions about Rhea's decisions in shaping Fodlan like he could.

I see that there's some pretty common criticisms between the comments so I hope this addresses people's concerns (these are all just my opinion):
"Silver Snow isn't the secret route. Crimson Flower is the one you have to complete an objective to play"
Sure, but I know most people new to the game expected a route where you assist Edelgard. A Church route is "secret" because a new player would never anticipate it. That's what I meant in the video
"Byleth is the main lord of Silver Snow, not Seteth"
If you feel this way, then what I said about Seteth applies even more so to Byleth. I made fun of Seteth for being a "suburban dad" character, but Byleth rarely speaks at all. For a game that relies on a dramatic narrative, you shouldn't have someone like Byleth be the main focus.
"You rely too much on Rhea's character in Crimson Flower. She lost her mind in that route. She's actually very kind and gave away power in every other route."
I felt it was important to address that side of Rhea, because it's her lowest point. Rhea is normally a kind person, but she clearly has problems when people interfere with her plan to revive her mother. Rhea admits that she has regrets in her S-support with Byleth, and it seems that she may have lost her mind during her original fight against Nemesis (what kind of sane person rubs a bloody sword on their cheek like that?). I feel that something about being held captive in Enbarr may have improved her mindset. Imo, if you're making a route about Rhea, the player needs to be made aware of her flaws and Rhea needs to address those flaws in some manner in order to see true character development. Rhea would still show kindness in this new route (especially after meeting with her mother).
"Why didn't you write it so that Claude/Dimitri/Rhea/Edelgard team up to fight a common enemy?"
This is known as a "Golden Route" and while it's interesting to theorize about, I personally wouldn't want to see it actually implemented. It would make every other route feel worse, and it's also hard to write a dramatic story if everyone just becomes friends in the end.
Ultimately, I'm very new to this UA-cam thing, so I appreciate every bit of positive criticism I get. I'm also amazed by how many people genuinely enjoyed the video. Even though I won't respond to every comment, I have been reading them all up until this point

That would be my Three Houses remake.

There were still elements I enjoyed don't get me wrong, however my biggest gripe with SS was that Rhea wasn't really explored all too much and that she wasn't a playable unit, I think that was a HUGE missed opportunity imo. As far as Rhea's low point as a Lord, I feel this idea doesn't quite manage to tie into Rhea's greatest flaw in the game - her faith-inspired passivity. Fodlan's deterioration pre-war is largely facilitated by Rhea only doing the bare minimum actions required to keep the status quo, trusting that Sothis would eventually return and fix everything. This can actually be explored with this idea without much change. Instead of calmly telling Rhea that the Nabateans were meant to guard Fodlan in Sothis's absence, Sothis can just be her snarky gremlin self and scold Seiros for being a selfish girl and forsaking all the responsibility she took upon herself when becoming Archbishop. This could parallel Rodrigue's role in AM, snapping Seiros out of her flawed line of thinking and forcing her to rethink her life and acknowledge her own failings. With the added bonus of the therapy god who achieves this being the actual Progenitor God, as opposed to the divine revenant known as Byleth. This even opens up a possibility for a nice moment in the ending to contrast with the opening. After beating Nemesis again, this reinvigorated Seiros would not kneel with her mother's remains near a puddle of blood, but would instead stand tall amidst the people she's finally ready to lead.
Edit: Actually, there could be an even more direct frame-for-frame reversal. Instead of the Imperial troops in the light triumphantly brandishing their weapons and Seiros kneeling and muttering, we can have Seiros triumphantly raising her sword in the light as Nemesis's army crumbles to dust, and the knights kneeling as she loudly announces victory.

The church route could have been a chance to highlight some of the similarities between Edelgard and Nemesis as well as give Rhea a chance to basically do the War of Heroes over again to make up for the mistakes of her past.
You could start the route the same with Byleth, their students, and the Knights of Seiros meeting up at the monastery. The Knights reveal that they have spent the past five years largely staying out of the conflict and searching for Rhea and they beseech Byleth to do the same. The former students aren't very happy that they won't be fighting the Empire, but ultimately they go along with their professor. Randolph's army still has to be repelled from Garreg Mach and the Church still clashes with the Empire, but the aim is not to liberate conquered territories or anything like that. Rather, the objective is determining Rhea's location and discovering just how deeply entangled TWSITD and the Empire have become.
By the time Grondor rolls around, both the Kingdom and Alliance armies are asking the Church for help in the coming battle. At the same time, the Knights learn that Rhea is being held in a TWSITD-controlled facility. The Church refuses to help either side and instead goes to rescue Rhea. Once Rhea is free, she is mortified to learn that her life was given higher priority than the people of Fodlan. Rhea has come to learn the part her lies have played in leading up to the war and has decided it is time for her to atone. She once again leads the people of Fodlan into battle, this time not to satisfy her own revenge, but to fulfill her duty to the people she has failed. She dons the armor of Seiros, Seteth and Flayn reveal their true identities, and perhaps at some point Macuil and Indech are persuaded to join the cause. Together, they create a united front against the Empire, welcoming true believers of the faith into their ranks as well as what remains of the Kingdom and Alliance army.
The new Church army approaches Enbarr through the old Kingdom territory rather than across Myrddin and through Grondor like the other routes, giving the opportunity for some new maps or at least the chance to reuse some different ones. Everything from Fort Merceus onwards proceeds roughly the same. Enbarr is taken and Edelgard is defeated, but not before TWSITD are able to escape. The Church gets Hubert's letter and it's pretty much the current VW ending from there. Perhaps Macuil tanks the nukes at Shambhala instead of Rhea so that she's still at full strength for the Nemesis fight.
Once Nemesis is defeated and the true history of Fodlan is at last revealed, the Nabateans depart for a distant land, leaving Fodlan in the hands of Byleth and the humans. After all, if Sothis can entrust her power to a (mostly) human like Byleth, then perhaps it is also time for Rhea to at last leave Fodlan's destiny in the hands of its people.

Just finding your content now, really interesting thoughts! One problem you didn't address is how the first half of the route is spent developing the black eagles. If Silver Snow ended up being DLC (like other commenters suggested), Byleth could be presented the "I'd rather join the knights" option in chapter 1 and Jeritza takes over the Black Eagles as professor. You'd have to rework chapter 1, but literally every other pre-timeskip level could play the same. Your initial character pool is Gilbert, Jeralt, Seteth, Catherine, Shamir, Alois, Cyril and Jeritza (or Rhea) to make it 8.

To address your confusion regarding Rhea's madness: contrary to popular belief, all fire emblem games do in fact occur in the same timeline. Therefore, dragons that don't seal their power into dragonstones and become manaketes go insane due to the planet being harmful to dragons. This is established all the way back in fe2 with Mila and Duma. There are a number of ways to explain why her and the other nabataeans may be unaware of this fact, but since they clearly originated in the Nabata desert before coming to Fodlan, which was long after the Scouring, it seems realistic that the knowledge may just be lost to time. It may even be that Sothis came to Fodlan to escape the Scouring, or that she was one of the divine dragons sent by Ashunera to colonize the new continents after radiant dawn. I'd like to see an hour long video where you discuss the timeline in full. Great stuff man.

I think Rhea could still be an appropriate boss. Instead of using her evil disease as a random excuse, they could make her grief over losing Sothis be the cause.
During Chapter 1, when you visit the Holy Tomb, we know that Rhea was expecting Sothis to reappear. In the Black Eagles route, this would be the perfect moment for Rhea to lose control of her emotions; perhaps she lashes out at the professor in frustration, only regaining control of herself when the Flame Emperor arrives, providing an immediate threat. This then makes the decision of whether or not to side with Edelgard more interesting; both Edelgard and Rhea are clearly flawed, but acting for sympathetic reasons.
Chapter 2 can continue mostly as normal, but this time when the player rescues Rhea from Enbarr, she barely responds. 5 years of imprisonment and torture at the hands of the Empire have left her broken, mentally and physically. Recuperating at the monastery, she doesn't join the player in Shambala. Though Thales is defeated, he launches spears of light at Garreg Mach. Though Sothis' protection keeps the monastery itself safe, nearby areas are obliterated.
When the player returns to the monastery, Rhea finally snaps. She blames the player for the destruction, her deprived mental state making her believe the professor simply allowed this to happen. She claims the professor doesn't care about her, thinking they simply let her rot away in Enbarr for five years, and refusing to hear the truth. Most importantly, she blames the professor for preventing the return of Sothis. Following this, Rhea transforms into the Immaculate One and vows to rip the crest stone out of Byleth's heart and begin anew. At this point, Seteth acknowledges her madness and regretfully admits that she must be defeated, or Fodlan will be in danger. The following battle is immensely tragic; not simply because you're fighting Rhea, but because you can understand her pain.
Also Seteth seriously deserves a personal class. He's LITERALLY Saint Cichol, you can't get much more special than that.

Rhea deserves better, frankly it would have really helped with the themes of the story if the divide of the route meant we would know Rhea at her best or her worst.

Personally I’d start the route sooner. Have Byleth refuse the teaching position. As Rhea does not want him to leave, instead enlists into the knights. Still have Edelgard be important to the route. Also make recruiting students be both more important and explained as field experience for them.

Here's a few ideas i have to improve Silver Snow:
    - If you own the Cindered Shadows DLC, Aelfric will join your army in chapter 13 just like Jeritza does in Crimson Flower. He start as a Warlock and has supports with Byleth, Rhea, Seteth, Flayn, Alois and the Ashen Wolves. He also has a paralogue with Rhea. He would be a great replacement for Hubert and his presence in this route would be a great opportunity to explore his character. In other routes, he would play a minor role off-screen in other routes and be here because he want to find Rhea.
    - All the Black Eagles students leave you're army after chapter 13 and are replaced by the members of the church of Seiros if you didn't already recruted them. You can recruit back you're students trough the route (exemples: Ferdinand on the bridge of Myrddin, Caspar during the siege of Garreg Mach, Petra in Enbarr...) by talking to them on the battlefield with Byleth.

And because I thought resetting the game would scrap my New Game Plus status, I slogged through the entire thing, wanting it to end every second of its runtime (give or take the final boss, which was by far the most challenging. • @Rasdanation
    @Rasdanation 4 роки тому +2

I completely agree on these points on Silver Snow. A while back I was also thinking of possible story differences to better differentiate SS and Verdant Wind. I will admit, these story changes mostly changed the story past the Great Bridge of Myrddin. Here was what I had thought up:
    -------------------------------------
    Silver Snow:
The first main difference that I had thought up for Silver Snow would be with the assault of Fort Merceus. In this idea, the only person who conducts a sneak attack on Fort Merceus is Claude. A sneak attack really isn't something the Church is known to do (aside from in Crimson flower, where Flayn takes part on an ambush on the assault of Gareg Mach). I feel the Church would be far more likely perform a siege of the fort (probably nothing as direct as Dmitri did, storming through the center and all). However, this key change in the story is what will diverge SS and VW in their paths. As the Church conducts a more direct assault that can be seen from a mile away, TWSITD are able to easily learn of the Church's route of action. As such, they have ample time to prepare their javelin of light (or whatever the technical term for it was). Fort Merceus is destroyed, the assault on Enbarr goes the same, Edelgard is defeated, and Hubert learns of TWISTD, and the assault of Shambalah goes the same. As seen in the normal route, the self-destruction of Shambalah weakens Rhea, but instead of making her go sicko mode, Nemesis reawakens and takes the opportunity to hunt Rhea down. Hearing of Nemesis' revival, Rhea can't help but spill the truth similarly to how she did in VW, and her trauma from the past resurfaces. She urges Byleth that they must defeat Nemesis to fix the mistakes of the past and defeat the dark past that looms over Fodlan. This story could work with Rhea being a unit herself, or finding herself too weak to fight in the final battle.
    -------------------------------------
    Verdant Wind:
Before anything else, I would like to say that in Verdant Wind, Claude achieve's his goals, tearing down the borders and prejudices between Fodlan and the outside world, by the time they attack Merceus, with the whole little stunt between him and the Almyrans. This event will stay, however the story must challenge Claude's ideals, that Fodlan can coexist with their neighbors. I will get back to this point, later in this part. Alright, now onto the story changes. First, because this should've already been in the base game, when you meet with Judith, instead of just joining you in the monastery, she joins your team as this route's version of Gilbert/Jeritza. The next change goes to fort Merceus, where Claude's sneak attack on Merceus had taken TWISTD by surprise, leading to them being unable to prepare a Javelin of light in time to strike the fort. As a result, Hubert never learns of Shambalah, and upon defeating Edelgard, it seems everything has come to an end. However, seeing all of his carefully laid out plans fail, Thales grows impatient and attempts to strike once more. Tales takes notice of the returning Almyran army led by the King of Almyra itself, and leads TWSITD to stage a coup on the army. Their plan goes without fail, and Nader is overthrown, either killed, abducted, or something else. Using his magic, Thales disguises himself as Nader, and continues to lead the army. As such, he is able to control the Almyrans to invade the Alliance. Upon Byleth and Claude's journey back to Gareg Mach, messengers arrive that Derdriu has been overcome by hostile Almyran forces. Claude is absolutely shocked that his closest ally, his father, has betrayed him, and starts to doubt if Fodlan and the outside world can truly cooperate. As such, the chapter after defeating edelgard would then take place in Derdriu rather than Shambalah. In Derdriu, Claude and Byleth would find themselves fighting Almyran Wyvern lords and Titanus units led by Thales, disguised as Nader. Reinforcements would arrive from the West, led by Cornelia herself, who was able to completely cement her control over the Kingdom of Faerghus as a result of the remainder of Dmitri's loyalists dying from the Blood of the Eagle and Lion. The goal of this map would be to defeat all of the commanders, which would be both Cornelia and "Nader." When fighting Nader, Claude takes notice to his "father" using a completely foreign fighting style, wielding dark magic and agarthan weapons. When speaking to "Nader" through battle conversations, he sounds far more serious and aggressive than his usual tone. Defeating Nader will bring him to retreat back to Fodlan's locket. Upon speaking with Rhea, Claude mention's how his father seemed like a completely different man then he knew, and Rhea quickly recognizes that TWSITD are behind these attacks. Rhea flips out and goes into her rage mode, turning into her dragon form, determined to end TWSITD once and for all, even if that means massacring TWSITD's Almyran "allies". As the attack on Shambalah never occured, she still has plenty of strength to do this. Claude recognizes that if Rhea commits such an atrocity, his grand ambitions will be forever shattered. As such, he convinces everyone that they must intervene in the conflict. The final chapter will then take place on a larger version Fodlan's locket, in which you must fight two parties, rage-induced Rhea and her army of White Beasts and Knights to the west, and "Nader" and his following of TWSITD generals, Titanus', and Almyran Wyvern riders to the East. Both sides will be attempting to cross Fodlan's locket, and your job is to put a stop to both Generals, "Nader" and the Immaculate One. Upon succeding, the final cutscene plays, in which you see Byleth defeating Rhea and proclaiming new leadership over the Church, while Claude kills Nader-Thales, leading himself to succeed as the new King of Almyra. Both new leaders command their men to stand down, and Byleth and Claude end by shaking hands, as Claude proclaims how "A new dawn is upon the world."

I think the "hero" of this path is meant to be Byleth in a solo position with Seteth as their lancer. It still doesn't work, because while Byleth is interesting imo they're meant to be more of a guiding presence: they help Edelgard retain her humanity, they pull Dimitri out of the abyss, they encourage Claude to be more than The Trickster. In SS they're suddenly shoved into a leadership position and this COULD be more interesting if the overall feel wasn't so bleak and Seteth did more than spout exposition.
I wonder if Rhea wasn't made playable because she might end up TOO broken. She IS a dragon and she can fight back easily on Ashe and Catherine's paralogue if she gets attacked, and as Seiros she has a sword and shield with stat benefits named for her. Playing as her might make the route TOO easy.
Finally, the idea of Seiros vs Nemesis is awesome. Except I wouldn't remove Nemesis from Verdant Wind because that epic shounen style final battle is perfection.

In regards to the endings of VW and SS, even if the start of the routes were the same, Claude fighting Nemesis is an awesome battle with God-Shattering music, but it doesn’t fit with his story at all.
After the battle at the Imperial Castle, Claude and Byleth and crew go to Shambhala, but Shambhala is now 3 chapters instead of 1. The final blow against Thales kills him, and he never triggers the pillars of light. After defeating Thales, Claude descends deeper into the Underground City, he learns more about TWISTD’s hand in shaping the continent of Fodlan. How TWISTD played puppeteer in sowing seeds of distrust within the nation and between Fodlan and the other continents. In the darkest shadows of the City he meets the true mastermind. He conjures up reanimated corpses of the TWISTD members you’ve already faces: Kronya, Solon, Cornelia, Arundel and/or Thales who are commanding a regiment of the most powerful demonic beasts. Once they are defeated you can finally confront Oroni. He has been alive since the very beginning. He was the one who persuaded Nemesis to turn against the Nabateans.
In Silver Snow you go to Shambhala, which proceeds as in the normal game. Thales is defeated, but with his dying breath activates the pillars of light. Rhea transforms into her dragon form, and is able to alleviate some of the damage, but not without cost to Rhea herself. Rhea is severely wounded. The pain triggers the same pain she felt when her mother died. In a berserk rage, she re-transforms and the blood in her reacts, it triggers those with her blood to also react and transform into white dragons. Like bees they fly to protect their queen and the final chapter of Silver Snow in the ruins of Shambhala vs Rhea. Byleth manages to subdue Rhea, but the madness persists, without any hope of restoring her to sanity, Byleth gives her a merciful death. However, if Rhea and Byleth have an A support, upon hearing Byleth’s voice, she will be reminded of Sothis and regain her sanity. Regardless, both battles weaken the chains on an iron cage in Shambhala. Out steps... Nemesis. Back at the monastery, either mourning Rhea’s death or celebrating their victory in Shambhala. The Church hears word of an army of the undead making there way to Zanado. Reports are that the leader wields the Sword of the Creator. Rhea instantly knows who it is, and steads herself to battle at the bemoan of Seteth, Katherine, Cyril and Flayn. Whether vanilla 3H or your version, Rhea joins as a playable unit if alive and the rematch against Nemesis commences at the Red Canyon.

I actually don’t mind watching Edelgard’s coronation during Ch. 11 ending the explore early, because it makes sense that going out to the Empire would take a few days. What I don’t understand is why there isn’t a bit of dialogue after saying yes to Edelgard where she’s like, “Oh, if you have something to do right now we can go later, as long as it’s still today, just make it fast,” and then there’s a pop-up letting you back out, but you can come back later when you’re finished with everything to watch the coronation cutscene.

This is really good! I really like how you made Rhea her alter ego to hide from her shame of failing to protect the Nabateans from TWSITD, and the adult Sothis appearing to Seiros/Rhea in the darkness of Zahras, though how would Seiros/Rhea get out of the darkness, when it took a fusion of Byleth and Sothis to break out of it? I especially love you having Nemesis be the final boss of SS, it would be so epic to see another fight between Seiros and Nemesis. The only thing I would change is Rhea’s gimmick in Chapter 14. Unless absolutely enraged and insane, Rhea doesn’t have the mindset of sacrificing everything for the “greater good”, she demonstrates that on the timeskip routes besides CF, she tries to sacrifice herself so Byleth and the rest of the people at Garreg Mach could retreat. I think it would be better for there to be some sort of Nabatean traps set up in the town, like Indech’s Phantom Soldiers, that would distract Randolph while Byleth and Rhea attack his exposed flank.

    1. Byleth is the main Lord, not Seteth.
    2. Seteth has always been shown to have misgivings with the Nobility and also is very different from others. He isn't for the status quo at all.
    3. Silver Snow also provides the player with an Challenge and that can be a good reason to play that route.
    4. Also the people worship Sothis, not Seiros.
    5. Also Rhea does interact with the player and Rhea is the one, who brought you to the academy, so she is important to the plot, except maybe in AM.
    6. Seteth has the Crest of Cichol and the ability to prevent Counterattacks during combat arts.
    7. She was the youngest Child of Sothis during that time and she herself said that she called herself Seiros, so Rhea is her true Identity.

My idea for Silver Snow is that it should have been the "good" ending, where everyone gets to live, or at the very least gets to resolve their character arc before dying. I also think it should be a hidden route. To do that I think Edelgard's coronation should be mandatory for both routes, and then when Edelgard is revealed to be the Flame Emperor she assumes that Byleth was aware and had betrayed the church unless you have Rhea's B support, in which she'll believe you if you tell her you didn't know
The route would begin in a similar tone to Dimitri's, only with Rhea this time. This would change, though, when Edelgard tries to destroy your army's morale by revealing everything she thinks she knows about the church, both the true things like how Rhea is an immortal dragon who has been suppressing progress for over a millenia, and the false things like blaming Rhea for the rebellions that lead to the formation of Faergus and the Alliance. This would cause many people to lose faith in her and Rhea would get more and more agressive until she finally comes to realize that her hiding so much is what has caused Edelgard to believe what TWSTD have told her and eventually she's able to reach a truce with the Empire in order to storm Shambhala and to kill Thales and Nemesis. Also Dimitri learns the truth about Duscur and is able to get some amount of closure, maybe he makes a heroic sacrifice, and Rhea, as part of the terms of her truce with Edelgard, has to step down as archbishop and fly off into the sunset

I think there is evidence to say that Rhea is her real name. In the cutscene at the end of VW, Rhea says "I called myself Seiros, fostered the founding of the Empire and prepared to oppose Nemesis and his followers..." She says this right after she talks about being the only survivor of Zanado, which implies she changed her name right after that for a brief time. Though I much prefer your idea of making Seiros her real name instead.
