This was way more complicated than I anticipated and to be honest, I don't understand all of it. It's times like these when I wish Oversimplified would actually upload so I could learn more history faster and in an entertaining way. Great job though! This must have been a pain to research and create. Very entertaining even if I don't understand half of it.
100% agree with you. You have no idea how much more complicated it could have been, I released a more ''simplified'' version than what I originally had in mind (the original idea would be even harder to follow). If you wanna know more about it in an entertaining way, I suggest you visit Omniatlas with many maps and explainations or read the first 2 books that I have in the description (Imperial Brothers - Valentinian I and Valens and the disaster at Andrianople-Ian Hughes Theodosius: The Empire at bay - Stephen Williams, Gerard Friell) that describe the difficulties of the Empire and how hard it was to respond to these.
Love it! But I think you might have forgotten to include a small pocket of purple territory to the left of Burgundy around Clermont-Ferrand, the town that was defended by Sidonius Apollinaris and his brother-in-law Ecdicius against the Visigothic king Euric until it finally fell in 475, just one year before the 'official' (or traditional) fall of the Western Empire.
Many Alans were allied to the Huns. Besides, it’s harder to resist attack from the north where the huns were when your wall of mountains is to your south and not to your north.
@@SenhorSavoi I also struggled with this at the beggining. Initially, I asked sources from chatgpt for specific topics (pretty lame but it did have some result :) ), I eventually came to realise that Wikipedia pages where they contain dates for battles, campaigns etc. are gold mines. If you see from which book/books it took a specific date (spring of 543 for instance), that same book might be a military one containing many battles and campaigns as well as the dates or even speculations about the dates. For example, through the Byzantine-Sassanid wars wikipedia page I found the book "The Roman eastern frontier and the Persian wars 363-628" which has A LOT OF useful info, much more than what Wikipedia has. Also, from time to time, I get lucky and I find good books or sites just by googling the topic (such as Omniatlas). Hope I helped and good luck with your project!! :)

Thank God you're back. We missed you so much 🈶
I wish you’d shown Western Roman Latinized Berber holdouts in the Maghreb that wouldn’t be conquered til the Umayyad expansion. Overall great video.
All of that chaos and Theodosius still had the time to crush Arianism. Impressive.
For this was a time of tragic heroes.
Очень хорошео видео, поздравляю!!!!

nice video!
Make a video about the Byzantine Empire in North Africa
I never knew the Huns went through the Caucasus. Was it the Gate of the Alans? Doesn’t seem like it was well guarded by them.

Hi, do you by chance have a Discord server I could join?
Sorry but no, I dont
Do you have any plans to make videos about alternative histories?
Not really. I am not a big fan of Alternative mapping videos
@@delianleague3655 Ok, I just have doubts about something, how do you find the sources for your videos?

I think it belongs to somebody else
Apparently modified.
I was inspired by Tominus Maximus and his Art style but its not a copy
@@delianleague3655 Great, hope you would do the ERE part, which he didn't cover obviously.
@@SaiKrishnaK-sq8ul I have it on my plans but its extremely difficult to make, mostly because its time consuming. I need a couple of months at best
@delianleague3655 yeah, agreed.
