    Very good video Sir, but can you more clear and details on how to dip some rosin with soldering iron to smoke the logic board? Do we need to put rosin on the logic board and use soldering iron on top ?
    Thank you and waiting to hear from you

      Dip some rosin on the top of soldering iron, then place it above the logic board with a distance of 1-2mm.

    What is a benefit of grinding PMIC rather than removing it with hot air?
    It seems risky.

    • @gidbi
      @gidbi 5 років тому +1

      benefit for them because some of us now will wantt amachine and this company make some benefit :D otherwise it is usless,, because in the reinstallation process they also use the 265 degree heat gun but it loos nice and new thats all ;)

    companies like this are the real eco-friendly unlike sending your apple device to apple in which the only thing they do is really just throw away the old device and try to give you a new one or try to get you to buy another device when companies like this fix the device so that there is less of a chance of the device going to a landfill which is good for the planet

      Apple actually repair your broken device and then send it back to the shops to sell them back to you are a referb phone. This is another one of their money making scams, they'll say your phone is unfixable and then take it in as a trade in for a new phone and then fix it and re sell it as a referb phone or as a replacement under warranty.

    • @vincen.3590
      @vincen.3590 7 років тому

      That is so true. They send these broken phones back to China and refurbish it. Apple is RIP off.

    When looking at the cutter mounted in the spindle, it is not running true , actually it is running way off centre line, is the cutter collet broken? For sure something is not correct in the cutter, spindle mounting?

    how did you know that the logic board comes with leak current as 900mA?

    • @manishmohandas1075
      @manishmohandas1075 2 роки тому

      See the switch It's in Amps not in milli amps,
      You see lower side 0-100-200... that's in milli amps, but when they switch it to A, see the upper label of analogue meter there you can see 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, their reading is at 0.9A ofcourse its 900ma when we convert it

    Since most of us don't own a CNC machine. What's best method for removing PMIC without damage to CPU on other side?

    • @johnbaker26
      @johnbaker26 7 років тому

      tape a thick coin (i use one from Thailand) onto the CPU with kapton as a heat sink. Quickly remove the coin when your done(be careful will be damn hot). Try to keep your air down to a min temp. For my station I would use 360C for the PMIC. And most importantly (as you will fry CPU if you dont do this) is carefully check for shorts out of those low voltage/high amperage output lines from PMIC to CPU BEFORE you connect battery/cable.

    • @mrsemifixit
      @mrsemifixit 7 років тому

      John Baker Thanks for replying. What size nozzle? Normally I use 4mm nozzle with 325c and air set to 6 (from a 1-8 scale). Should I use bigger nozzle, lower heat and air or same heat but lower air?

    • @johnbaker26
      @johnbaker26 7 років тому

      I use 2mm for something like PMIC. Lower air and try to keep it straight down on the chip. I have a bent nozzle you can see pic here tinypic.com/r/2lazodz/9 that makes it easier to keep it pointing down right at the chip and not blowing across. Its so easy to short this chip. A lot of VCC main and ground pad neighbors.

    • @mrsemifixit
      @mrsemifixit 7 років тому

      John Baker You use a super small nozzle on it? Whys that. So you keep same temp but less air flow? What's a good time reference for when it should come off (so don't keep hot air on too long)

    • @johnbaker26
      @johnbaker26 7 років тому

      I don't know time, for me its all about feel. Watching the flux, caps around it start glowing, than if you notice any shakes from chip its time to lift it. Basic stuff I guess. I think the most likely failure with PMIC changing is shorting, I said ground earlier but that wasn't right. I meant VCC main ball shorts to one of those
