Good to see your project getting along Joe. Congratulations on the 20 year anniversary as well as the 50k subscribers!!! Great effort mate. Cheers. Vlad.
I have a drill press but camera...ing over there atm is tricky. Yeah so someone in one of the last vids said something about needing a clicky keyboard ASMR so I figured the tape may suffice 😆💥🤘
Joe, nice video! Congratulations on your aniversery! Based on your evaluation i went and bought two 12k growatt inverters, and right now i have 5 split units mitsubishi AC units, 55 gal water heater and all the lights and outlets in the house on one inverter! I also got 82kw in batteries! Hope to hear from you, Be safe!
Thanks for another awesome video Joe! Congrats on the 20 years of marriage! Honestly, I didn't think you were older than 35. I love how this project is coming along, it's looking so good.
Holy cow!!! Are you running the whole house on solar power now. It's really looking good compared to the days I started watching you. No more carts? Hope you and your family have a great holiday, coming up!
Congrats, I enjoy your video's. Suggestion, keep your incoming (solar), and intermediate (batteries) fuses and switches separated on your wall whereby a functional diagram is kinda obvious through the layout of your conduits (don't feed your solar wires to the charger/inverter through the battery connection box)
Nice! 20 Year Anniversary, Congrats Joe. The DIN Rail Bus Bar StandOffs you use, Where can these be found online? Nice job on your progress. Thank you for sharing so much on your systems.
Really???? Interesting.....just got a slightly different one and thought I remember seeing that it puts itself out BUT that could have been another I was looking at. Ill have to take a LOOKC! Thanks for the info!!💥🤘
Hey AJ not trying to take the boom out of ya but I was thinking if that bus bar calculation is done on mass for the amperage and then you drill 7 or 8 holes in it how good is that calculation for amps now just asking
Hello, I just discovered your channel and I love it; thank you for sharing all of this knowledge. There is so much to go thru...I have a grid tied solar system and would like to add a battery (or batteries) and use the utility connection as a back up for if the solar is not generating and the battery is depleted ; do any of your videos walk thru how I can do this and which components I need? I already have the solar panels connected via an inverter to the grid; I still need to get the battery and possibly a new inverter to connect to the system. Thoughts?
Thanks for watching! You would need a different inverter if you want to use the same panels and be grid-tied. You would want a coupled system or coupled inverter like a sol-ark. If you want to add an off-grid system so you can keep feeding the grid-tie system then you can do that as well.
@@AveRage_Joe I was just checking the sol-ark sight and didn't see it mentioned; would I still be able to continue sending my excess poser back into the grid to get paid (as I currently do)? Also, those inverters are very expensive; is $7K-$10k really what I need to be prepared to pay for a good inverter?
Yes with sol-ark you can send your excess back to the grid like you do now plus have a battery. They are very expensive yes. There are other brands but I cant think of any off the top of my head. If you wanted to add another system with battery you may beable to do it in smaller steps to expand. For example, my inverter was $2k, I have 5kw used solar panels $1.5k. Battery will depend on what you want to do.
@@AveRage_Joe I like the DIY battery wall you built; I realize all use rates are different, but for comparison, the other battery you tested had about a 3+ hour runtime, how long will the wall 2.ohhhh that you built last under the same (or similar) conditions?
A diy wall with 32 cells (560ah)will be over 24hr use. In the summer I can run everything except my 240v items 24/7 from a 276ah battery. Check out the video I did with the rhino battery. Its similar to the husky video. Runtime was 11hrs on battery alone if I remember right.
AVERAGE JOE, ANOTHER GREAT JOB! HAVE YOU CONSIDERED USING A 10” WIRING TROUGH AROUND YOUR MECHANICAL ROOM & HAVE YOUR BOXES & PERIPHERAL SOLAR EQUIPMENT ENTER OR EXIT THE BOTTOM OR TOP OF THE TROUGH, BUT ALL YOUR WIRING WILL BE HIDDEN? THANKS FOR YOUR PROJECTS!
How hot is your shunt getting? Sure it can get warm but shouldnt get hot hot. Maybe check the connection to make sure its tight. If it gets hot/cold it will expand and contract and therefore loosen the connection over time which will make it get hotter and hotter. A possible remedy would be get a bigger shunt. Also was that plural, as in more then one shunt?
VooDoo!!!🤣🤣 I got mine from harborfreight. Super cheap, sometimes the "auto" function doesnt always work. I just need to unscrew the end and put a drop of oil in there.💥
I forgot to include those in the parts list. Its in there now. I actually got them from my recycler but you can get them on amazon. Kinda pricey Aff link -> Terminal Blocks - amzn.to/3d6bmPQ
@@AveRage_Joe uff , those are speedy … I will have to look for an alternate solution. Thanks for all your great vids and sharing it w the diy community.
Hello, any chance for us to work together on our 4K security camera system? I had sent the details to your email, hope can get your reply and move forward.

is there a way you can explain by way of load testing the shunt trip setup for the ABB breaker in a separate video?

You still have all those Li-Ion cells you can light up and cook your turkey over 🤣😹
Add some rubber seal around the outside of the box, so it pulled down evenly.

Yeah I saw the price and said WHOA lol. I would imagine they can be found cheaper for sure since the amazon site has the part #.
don't you need room for the bus bar to expand?
I'm not being critical but I don't understand why you didn't cut the hole in the cover plate a little wider rather than cutting up the breaker?
100% troof.....to late now 😬🤣
