@@avw160 Flipmode used to be my second-favorite episode, but I recently found a source for almost the whole collection and rediscovered the episode "Curses" from season 5. I thought season 6 was when the genius started filtering in, but Curses was an early gem for sure.
But i will put anything in my mouth that is given to me, whether it's supposed to go there or not. Because.... i'm different. Is that clear with everyone?
I always loved how much of a complete disconnect Space Ghost has with the people he interviews, like their having conversations from two different plains of existence.......besides the obvious live person talking to cartoon character thing.
You just know the guy doing the interviewing is the big man who voiced Brak and frequently dressed as Space Ghost. It would definitely explain the *reliable* bemusement of the guests and the general tone of the interviews.
@@LUNITUNZBackup Interesting. Might have to look into that sometime, if I don't forget. I know my mom has the first few seasons on DVD. They used to be mine, but I wasn't watching them anymore, so I gave them to her for Christmas one year since I knew she also loved the show. And I figured if I did ever want to watch them again, that way I could always just borrow them.
Negative. They finished recording Knives Out in March of 2000, and it was released as part of Amnesiac in June 2001. This episode aired in September 2001, so Knives Out was already charting in many countries and even briefly reached #1 in Canada. More likely it's the other way around, Space Ghost and friends are riffing on Knives Out here.
Andrew Sinclair glad you cleared up that the show that was the vanguard for Cartoon Network and Adult Swim has not, by mistake or malice, ripped off a mediocre movie that came out last year; itself a mediocre ripoff of Agatha Christie, herself being a shitty detective pulp detective novelist.
Most of the time they just held a normal interview and then frankensteined a bunch of out-of-context clips together to make it funnier. Though once guests started catching on to what they were doing they'd occasionally do little skits with them to work into the show.
I'm honestly curious if whatever dialogue the characters have is what was presented to the guests. Or if it's something completely different. This show is a fever dream.
I wish someone would upload the Joel Hodgson interview - I remember it being a pretty hostile interview, but a friend of mine was insisting it was staged and in good humor, and I really don’t think it was - I’d like to see it again
Bro, it truly was hostile, Hodgson literally said something like "I'm not gonna play along with your little game and pretend we're in space" and then proceeded to pick a fight with Space Ghost. Pretty savage indeed
gotta say, I did not expect Space Ghost to bust out a full cover of Knives Out but he nailed it
The way he goes “it sounds like a good idea” is just so genuine I love it
He brings the same energy to Flipmode (w/Busta Rhymes), and it rules

I would've loved to see an episode that was straight-up one of the actual, raw interviews.
i did not know this thank you
@@gurvmlka few DVDs released raw interviews, so there's a couple here on UA-cam. There's Matt Groening, Busta Rhymes and Conan O'Brian for sure.

someone (usually dave willis) would conduct an interview; then they'd cut it up and retroscript from it;
This was the very first thing I thought of when I heard Donald Trump wanted to name a bill The Cut Cut Cut Act. Sadly, I doubt this was an homage.
Send me a link to video of that and I'll try to see what I can do.
