I’ve lived in Austin Texas for 21 years! We have now , one of the worst city council’s to ever exist in this city! You don’t understand why Governor Abbot signed the abortion restrictions into law? Because the Austin city council decided that we the tax payers should pay for abortions! Forget about funding schools ( we’ve had some permanently close)or funding for our police and first responders! No! They chose to fund abortions using tax dollars and defund the police so that they can fund the ever growing homeless population that they created and have no clue how to fix it! My daughter is in high school and mentioned one of her teachers went around the room on the first day and asked for introductions, including preferred pronouns. The teacher then went on to say if students don’t use preferred pronouns of others there would be “consequences”. Needless to say I’m going to have a talk with this teacher.
I would first get a video recording to use as evidence and retain an attorney. You will also need to go higher up, such as to the principal and superintendent, I believe.
Check on laws regarding consent to be recorded Two party consent or one party consent in your state?

People often say things are only words but harassment like that can leave trauma on a person. So, can you not understand that taking 5 minutes out of the introduction for class to address this issue would help those who need it?
