I have the navy and wow is this an amazing bag. The quality, the beauty, the price. Coach has done it again! I’ll pass this one to my girl when I’m done. ETA-I’m a Coach girlie because honestly that is what all bags are worth. This is what bags should cost. It’s a FAIR price. I never feel ripped off with Coach, from my vintage bags to my first big girl bag in the early 90s. That suede duffel is still 100% gorgeous and my daughter stole it, it’s now her everyday carry and it looks so good still.
Oh gosh congrats on the navy it's so pretty. i have to admit Coach has never really been on my radar until now, I feel like the empire feels more chic than some of their other designs
When it comes to quality and longevity Coach is unrivaled. I bought my first one literally 40 years ago and gave it away to a friend. She still has it and it’s in great condition. I want it back 😂
I love that Coach has reinvented and reinvigorated their brand, and people are paying attention. Given what has come out about luxury brands of late, their timing has been impeccable. I feel like I can wear a Coach bag out anywhere, beat it up a bit and not be worried about it. I’m still not too sure about these very oversized bags in general but I recently bought a Brooklyn and love it!
Last year I bought my first Coach bag, the heart shaped bag (nappa leather), it’s so soft, I can’t stop touching it. I’m planning to buy a quilted tabby soon. Like others said, Coach is fairly priced for the quality. Although I can afford it, I can’t justify dropping thousands on a single bag. I prefer to use that money to take my family out for holidays.
Thanks, yes I guess it is easy to remove so no big deal. It would be nice to see something more premium looking from them apparently some of the other bags have a more 'premium' looking tag with metal horse detail on them
I specifically chose the Empire bag over the Hug bag because it has a zipper. I love my Navy Empire bag. The leather is soft and smooshy. While it’s not leather lined, I think that keeps it from being too heavy in the 40. I love it!!!
As a woman who grew up when Coach was everything, I have to say I'm glad they are back and stopping putting everything on sale. Maybe 4 or 5 years ago I bought some Dr. Martins and a cross body Coach bag insisting this was the next it look. I guess I was early to the party. I remember in the 80's while in college everyone going on and on about how you could send your coach bag in for repairs for life. How the quality was so amazing. I don't believe they do that anymore. But I am going to check out the Empire bag 😊. It actually looks great bag for travel as it has a zipper across the top. Interesting they are using the Telfar sales tactic by not making an endless supply of the Empire bag, creating high demand. Great video!
@Handbagholic I got the maple cause I love neutral tones. I'm in Canada so of course everything is more expensive. The bag here is over $800, and the largest size was over $1000. Crazy the difference in prices, but I still love the bag!
I love it! I've been looking for a designer work bag that fits a 15" laptop, but still has zipper closure for security and better weather protection. Additionally, I wish for something not very boxy (like Givenchy Antigona), and is preferably not worth several thousands of euros so I can leave the bag next to my office desk worry-free at lunch time. Bags with only these characteristics have been very hard to find, most are too small or do not have a zipper. This looks perfect 😍 looking forward to your review of the bag!
Yes I have 16 inch laptop and need to see if that fits I don’t know if it will. But you’re right finding a nice bag with these qualities can be a pain!
Coach is my favorite brand I have many bags with matching wallets and wristlets, I also have bag charms and scarves as well as belts and shoes I’ve been thinking about the empire 26, and now that I’ve seen your review I’m definitely adding it to my collection when it’s back in stock at Coach in the US.

Hello. I’m on the wait list for the 48. I plan to use it as a work bag for commuting. The 48 will be released at the end of October/November. They originally released 200 but those were pre-orders if you attended the runway show. I got my information from my SA at the Coach store. Not sure when it will be released in the UK, I’m in the US. Hope this information is helpful 😊
I buy coach and I always just remove the dog tag; it's attached by a ball chain that easily unclips and clips back on. The "cool" thing about it is many of their bags have no branding except the tag so when you take it off there are no logos on the bag at all. However, that did lead to one really weird interaction where an SA at another brand store suspected I was carrying a fake bag because I had not left the tag on while wearing it out. It was one petty interaction that I have never had since, but I think it shows how easily coach bags stand on the merit of their design and how easily they fit into being not-immediately identifiable. Except for series like the tabby, I think coach is a lovely brand for people who want quality but not recognition (which is why it's funny that they now happen to have an "it bag").
I also fell in love with the Empire Carryall in the merlot color-way. I love the burnished look around the edges. So chic and beautiful. I think I would get the 40. Thanks for featuring her, Steph. BTW: crushing on the Ferragamo Hug bag, too.
I like bigger bags so I am happy to see them blossom! I do not like the YSL one at all but the Coach one is actually pretty.. smooth. I have no better word for it.
Great video! I picked up the 35 in black in the Chicago boutique and love it! At the moment I’m more excited about it than my other 20 LV bags! Im only 5’1 so even the 35 is a little too large for me.
I have the 40 Merlot and use her as my work bag. I ❤ her. She is also charmed up. I’m not a fan of the tags either… except the 1941 ones which I like but fall off and I lose…but in this case I attach my charms to it so I’m glad it’s there and also unstated. Hope you love her. J. 👜
Love the brand Coach. Their bags are affordable but made to last!....i have a few coach bags which i wear for a every day bag & years on they still going strong!!.....yes would definitely purchase a coach empire bag but at present cant decide which colour to go for yet!! 😄👜💕
Love Ferragamo! The leather quality definitely surpasses that of Channel and LV. Thrilled that Coach is going back to it classic styles - they last forever. I still use one from the 70s and its in great shape.
Coach has definitely stepped up their game! I hadn’t bought a Coach bag in like 20 yrs. They drew me in with their denim tabby’s. I ended up purchasing the denim tabby 20. LV has been turning me off with their overpricing! I am now looking at Coach’s Lana and the Brooklyn bags. Don’t care too much for the Empire. Great video showcasing the Empire. I didn’t realize the Empire had different sizing. TFS
I've been a Coach lover since the 90s. I've seen it's popularity rise and fall. So glad you like it and compare it to the big boys. I feel like a parent watching their child succeed. Ha ha.
i really want this in the oxblood but Idk if it is worth it if it doesnt have a damn luggage strap, an id sleeve and way to lock the thing closed as well as a padded laptop area. tumi always seems to win for real work / travel bags.
I have my first coach bag from 20 years ago, the Coach Soho which I still have today! As a bag lover, I’ve had many coach bags over the years. I love these new timeless collections and they are 100% worth it. This is controversial but you really don’t need to spend 1000s to have a “quality” bag, I think we need to be honest why we buy things. I have bought a few luxury bags, and with the exception of my Chloe bag, I have felt a bit underwhelmed. I kind of feel like I shouldn’t need to buy an extra organizer, when brands like coach are usually able to build that into designs. Thanks for covering this topic! I really enjoy your channel!
@jkosi2166: I agree with everything you said! If one pays $1000 plus on a bag, it should be perfect. When you have to make adjustments to an already expensive bag, you have to question what is the point of even buying it?
If I did buy one, it would be either the small or middle size bag. I had a Cole Hahn maroon satchel or as they’re called today, Carryall. I would never buy another bag the size of a 48” again.
question: I have a black empreinte speedy Bandolier 25 and am looking at a monogram speedy. Would you recommend the 30 or 35? Btw - I love my Empire 40 in black. Best bag for the money!!!
With regards to the luxury brands, I have to say it's been disappointing at best in the last couple years. Mainly to me because of the increased prices, but the styles changes so quickly it doesn't seem worth it. I have a Balenciaga bag that is more then 10 yrs old, they still make the style and the bag remains beautiful and still in style. That is money well spent to me. My Louis Vuitton's are like that as well. Now I'm talking myself out of my point. I guess it depends on the brand.

Out of all my designer handbags my coach large tote is by far the most superior quality & looks new after 20 yrs. My new YSL bag looks like a used handbag and the leather is not worth the $4k I paid.
I refuse to queue to get into any store. So silly and wastes time, especially when traveling. I used to buy Coach and Dooney & Bourke bags, then got interested in Longchamp and some of the other affordable brands like Demellier, Basile, and others. Now I'm coming back to Coach, but likely will only buy one or two in the next year. Thanks for your video highlighting the re-emergence of Coach.
I have sold all my LV except a couple vintage, all my Chanel and most of my other random luxury bags. I have kept my Hermes, Loewe and a few Gucci. Now as I’m restocking I’m focusing more on Coach and other similar brands, and I’ll never go back. I got tired of quality issues with a few backs bought new at LV, same with Chanel, and the other thing I can’t stand is the terrible customer service. Chanel is terrible and LV isn’t much better. Coach service is always great.
I believe the bag brand these days doesn't matter anymore as long as you look pretty, fit and decent, you'd look luxurious. Whereas, even if you wear luxury from head to toe, if you look tacky, unfit and brazen, you will only look like a social climbing attention seeker.

The Coach hangtag is synonymous with Coach. It’s also extremely removable if you feel that it cheapens the bag.

They don’t do it for all bags but they do for heritage and their more expensive lines😍

Designwise, the closest to Coach is Cocinelle Kliche bag for at least half the price. They are in different sizes as well.

The inside snap pocket kills me, why not a zipper or at least a magnetic inside snap. Very disappointing.
None of the bag are under $700??? I am not sure where you got the information from!
All of the Coach empire bags are under $700 including the 40 size. Only the 48 size is over.
