This time Louie talks about his fellow comedian and (suprisingly) great actor - Doug Stanhope. Doug was casted as Eddie in 9th episode of 2nd season of "Louie" TV show. And he blew everybody away with his performance.
Louis CK: In His Own Words is a series of compilations of clips and excerpts from various interviews, radio and podcasts appearances and Q&A sessions of comedian/writer/director Louis CK ranging from 2002 to 2017. A wide range of topics is covered: from stand-up comedy, TV series, movies, real-life events, personal and career stories, relationships, and much more. The sole purpose of this series is to document and present often hard to find materials to fans worldwide for its entertainment and educational values. Please enjoy and feel free to suggest more topics to cover in the future. Cheers!

Louis CK too. I hope he lives until he's 90 and spreads his wisdom until then

@jennifergregory7461 For the most part, women don't understand comedy at all. So, not surprising. And I'm guessing you never listened to O & A.

This is really the comedy trifecta: Patrice O'neal, Louis C.K., and Doug Stanhope.

Hicks, Aries spears, katt williams, eddie griffith, anyone who tells it like it is and makes it funny

Even in a scene as heavy as this, Louis still wrote a funny line:
Doug talks about how a doctor felt sorry for him and gave him some medication that would be very easy to overdose with.
Louis says "You can't kill yourself."
Doug sarcastically replies "Yes I can, I have a note from a doctor."
It made the scene so believable because there are a lot of people in reality that appear happy on the outside, while struggling on the inside. They often deflect serious subjects with humor because it's less scary than facing your problems.

Louis is a nicer guy than Ricky Gervais, in his show his character encourages the depressed man to unalive himself, which he does and they don't confront it at all, at least not in the first season.

I used to run a cabaret/open mic back in the early 90s, and 'Eddie' left me in bits when I watched it... remembering all those hopeful - some truly great - comedians who fell by the wayside, who I'd hear years later that they'd topped themselves or were lost beyond the point of no return. Tough, being a comic.

Knowing the story from the first part I’m glad CK circled around and got to the good part even though Stern was kinda steamrolling and interrupting with questions

This puts the Pete Davidson story in a new light for me. Well, maybe. Could this be why he got mad at Pete for smoking so much weed and threw him under the bus at SNL? If so it makes him a lot less douchey than he comes across in that story.
