      As a subpar guitar player I know enough now from my own little riffs and things that I do that that's what eventually becomes songs for all guitar players. If you listen to them play lover leaver from about 4 years ago a big part of the freeform jam was built by Nations. Before it was built by Nations. Kind of cool that you noticed that though.

      Man he is the worst guitarist in the band, the drummer and keyboard player play guitar and are cleaner, more technical, and solo better than him.....he is still struggling with the basic pentatonic rock riffs everyone learns and grows out of after the first few years.

    Went to see Metallica in Atlanta this past year. Greta Van Fleet opened (along with Cage the Elephant). Aside from being impressed with Greta Van Fleet’s live show, I was amazed at how many young girls where there specifically to see GVF (they were noticeably more subdued during Metallica) and they knew all the words to all their songs. Hopefully that translates to keeping rock music alive for another generation.

      He is a good player but nothing he said in this interview shows a deep level of knowledge. All he said was a 61 sg is great and and its Paf pickups are spot on anyone even vaguely familiar with the 61 Sgs would not have heard anything in this video they have not already heard before. The knowledge he displayed about the Sg was bare minimum basic stuff. Sgs are cool and pafs are spot on . There are loads of armature players on the everything SG forum that could put Jake to shame on Sg knowledge why do so many people treat every word that comes out of a famous guitars players mouth like some profound revelation. He is a good player with good tone who writes good music but his statement about the SG are simple and basic.. it' plays good it sounds good . Pafs are nice. That's it .

    These comments are so disappointing. I’m not even that much of a gvf fan but you can’t deny that these guys are ridiculously talented. So what that have a similar sound the the classics? thats kind of hard to escape. If any of you have listened to their newest album you’d find they’re finding their own sound and it’s fucking awesome. you don’t have to like them, but you have no valid reason to bully and put down people who are just having fun and doing what they love. have an ounce of respect for them, they’re people too

      Please don't get me wrong, I'm not a hater, I love GVF, they're an insanely talented bunch... But to say there's something innovative about their music is plain ignorant. They sound exactly like pretty much every great rock band in the 60's/70's. Which defintely isn't a bad thing per se, and I'm really curious as to where their talent will take them, but they're no superheroes xd

      @@psychicspyfromchina9834 They are derivative in the extreme and that's really all I can say about them. To deny that is just to flat out be intellectually dishonest. I'm not even saying they "suck" but just that they're not anything that hasn't been heard before. I mean I don't find even a hint of originality in anything they do but there are tons of people like that who still make a living playing music. Just look at pretty much every glam band of the 80's as exhibit A to this.

    To everyone saying they're ripping off Zep, if you think their new album sounds anything like Led Zeppelin then I'm honestly speechless. Their early stuff, yeah it did sound like Zep but they've definitely came into their own, if you don't like it then move on instead of taking the time out of your day to talk rubbish over the internet about a talented musician.

    • @gabrielziegler3501
      @gabrielziegler3501 2 роки тому +2

      People have the audacity to claim that new gvf sounds like zep. It ridiculous. Even if they do share similarities, Led Zeppelin stole so many songs for other artists. It's almost impossible to make music that is original from the ground up and listenable. Sure you can use synths to create harsh abrasive sounds that no ones heard, but to do so in a way that hasn't been done and is enjoyable seems impossible these days. The point isn't the starting point, it's how these young men are taking something like classic rock and making it their own, making it fresh again, making it accessible to the younger generation. I have no complaints

    • @veyom5959

      You’re right, they don’t sound lime zeppelin, they sound worse, less original and more pretentious, at least zeppelin hid their influences well, GVF is extremely talented but they’re industry manufactured boy band equivalents nostalgia baiting wide waisted boomers and young kids who want to buy into the 70s cosplay

      It's not about the brand it's about the music. The Beatles chose Epiphones over Gibson equivalents back in the day. They used to be made in the same factory.

    • @MisterSwagify
      @MisterSwagify 2 роки тому +1

      @@photopicker Well to a certain extent it is about the instrument as well as the player because different instruments may inspire you in different ways. I sound different on a strat vs. an SG not just tone-wise, but because I play different on those two instruments as well. So in picking your go-to, it's about finding what inspires you the most. In my case, it's the sound and feel of an SG with T-Tops.

      Get the one with the hardtail. The vibrato on the early SG's is notorious for knocking the guitar out of tune by just touching it.
