[ENG SUBS] AOT RADIO - Park Romi on Playing The Nonbinary Hange Zoe
Вставка
- Опубліковано 11 жов 2024
- This was from AOT Radio episode 61 where Park Romi (Hange Zoe's VA) appeared as a guest for the first time.
I absolutely love how she reminds me of Hange in real life too (she does what she wants, when she wants - I'll try to get those in the future uploads).
But in this particular short, the three focused on the one issue that seemed to be in everyone's minds when Hange first appeared - her GENDER.
NOTE: I do apologise for using the pronoun she/her in here as I find it to be easier to use a singular pronoun while translating. I am aware that Hange's gender orientation isn't singularly female.
Hope you enjoyed this one too!
Show me some love with 👍🏽 and 🔔 for more future uploads
Wow the comments 😯
I think I should explain and we ourselves need to consider a few things before things go south.
I am aware that gender is a sensitive and even taboo topic to certain cultures, but I believe in the idea that opening minds through confrontation is better than staying closed within comfort.
I apologized for using the term she/her because I am well aware that Hange's gender isn't specified by anyone - not even Isayama-sensei. Hence, me using the female pronouns despite the original creator's statement regarding his own character is both unnecessary and to a certain extent arrogant as my statement simply assumes Hange to be female. I personally do not think it is fair to say that Hange is either male or female, but this radio short in particular places Hange as what Park Romi first assumed the character to be - a woman. Hence, this video uses the pronouns she/her. That may/may not change in the future depending on how the personalities in the short speak of Hange. My duty is to translate and I do just that to the best that I could.
As mentioned above, gender is a topic. It may be sensitive to certain cultures, taboo to others but common to some. Opinions however, is a personal assessment. Being personal, it can be biased or subjective. So, let's take this opportunity to appreciate the fact that we have this platform to give and take on this topic whereby we may not come across the chance to do so in our daily conversations.
Other than that...well, I hope you enjoy the video 😊 imma keep Hange coming that's for sure
he said it's up to the reader to decide, so we can give her the gender we want ^-^ I think it will be fine whatever gender we want to give her we can :)
Using female pronouns doesn't necessarily mean that a person is female, so don't worry too much about it. Thank you for the translation, and don't pay any mind to people that can't appreciate it :)
I swear nobody cares about hanji's gender all this time actually '-' like ppl just commonly thinks of her as a female or it just came naturally that hanji is a she ,, and i read somewhere isayama used to claim hanji as a female but soon later he decided to keep her gender unknown or unconfirmed,, n he said that we (audiences) can decide hanji's gender ,, wether ppl use he/she/them on hanji shouldn't be a serious matter since her gender does not affect the storyline,, thus why i think ppl r free to call her w any pronouns :> since isayama himself said that hanji doesn't have a specific gender , an argument where he/she/them as a pronouns shouldn't turn into arguments :> unless ur translating for official works then it should be fine to call hanji "she"
The fact that nowadays people have to write long apologise only because they use she/her on a fictional character is pretty concerning
You shouldn’t have to apologize. Considering Isayama hasn’t been explicit himself, it’s unreasonable to expect any fan to interpret it perfectly. The fact that people are arguing over Hanji/Hange’s pronouns and gender shows us how people put their political slants before the narrative and character’s importance/relevance. Posting this at all with the more ‘heated’ opinions flying around took some guts and you shouldn’t pay attention to the some of the faceless words being thrown around. Your translations have been a huge service for us fans to enjoy, thank you!

What a lovely reaction from her junior xD
Family name? Ah...but that's normal for Japan though, you never call them by their given name unless you're a family member or close friends...or in rare cases it's cool with the other party in question 😂
Other Asian cultures practice a similar name hierarchy to show respect but it's more 'loose' compared to Japan and maybe Korean culture, example: while Western folks are mostly fine with calling their older siblings/relatives by name, it's extremely rude in most Asian families to do that
@@Nic_Ryuu yep so true. In my Hakka-Chinese/Vietnamese family, we sometimes do that.

IMO I think they were spot on when they picked Park-San to voice Hange. Her voice projects strength of character and strong determination and that’s a trait all of her past roles - whether male or female - shares. She’s both big- sisterly and big-brotherly and Hange feels like both to me 🥰

Isayama said in an interview that Hange's gender is "up to viewers' interpretation". He specifically said that he wanted to make an "otaku scientist with unknown gender" character. So it's not wrong to call them a woman, nor is it wrong to view them as nonbinary, or a man.

Isn't Hange's gender unspecified BECAUSE isayama wanted us to be free to call her however we want? That means we can call her a she and also a he. But some people are acting like children, sending death threats because they think it's transphobic. The lunacy.
Wait, people really think It's transphobic ? And sending DEATH THREATS ??
I can't even figure out what would be transphobic in the fact that hange's gender is unspecified like WtH
@@julieguerraz815 I should have phrased that better: they're sending death threats to anyone who calls Hange a woman or uses the she/her pronouns, like she's exclusively male. I got bashed by a comment section of another video maybe a month ago because of this, back when I didn't know it was forbidden 😂
I've hung around with a lot of people like this, so I wanna explain their reasoning. Apparently Isayama said that Hange would fit a song which described a non-binary person, so that's another reason. Aside from that the fact that we aren't supposed to specify Hange's gender makes it kind of obvious that there must be a reason. And also, they want non-binary representation, considering there's only a few in mainstream media. Why it's transphobic? They think that these signs would make it obvious that Hange was not a man or a woman, so yeah, they think it makes you transphobic.
@@kokomine5732 but pronouns don’t equal gender so it’s a flawed argument in general

1:45 If she's an average woman, we wouldn't ask you to come.
wow thanks! I thought I heard "gayagaya ni" at 1:36 hence the translation. And I though the director (Mima-san) referred to the script rather than Park Romi-san herself in 1:45
Appreciate the correction! ^^

1:36 She said Gaiga(外画). It's a jargon used in some industries including voice actors, meaning foreign movie.
So don't worry about it, since it's not a general term and not in normal dictionaries.

That changes alot. Park-san's reaction to Mima-san's explanation makes way more sense now. Thanks for the correction.

they are really close actually!
I honestly think that Hange is just a tomboyish woman. That is, like what the author said, my own interpretation.

This video proves that Hange’s gender is a mystery, not non-binary.
The VA literally says Hanji is non-binary at 2:18. Didn't you listen to the video? For future reference, a mind open to learning and who lets their biases go is the one who absorbs information, not rejects it.
@@FaiaHalo except she also says mystery, non binary is a real gender, not the de facto for when it’s ‘a mystery’. Weren’t you listening to the video? If Hange truly was non binary then Romi Park wouldn’t have said it was a mystery. She was asked to PORTRAY Hange as ‘unisexual’ to keep from confirming a gender through her voice acting to keep it a mystery
@@allthatjazz4437 nonbinary is not a gender... It's an umbrella term for various gender identities, like gender fluid, pangender, bigender, agender (Hanji), etc. Non-binary people do not identify with traditional male or female genders. Non-binary people may or may not perceive themselves as an individual belonging partially or totally to one gender, but they present a type of nonconformity that allows them to attribute special characteristics of certain genders to satisfy their desire for identity. It literally means they don't fit into the gender binary (hence the name), like Mikasa or Armin do. Fun fact, Isayama was asked about Armin's gender as well and he confirmed he was a man, unlike what he specifically REQUESTED for Hanji (to NOT be gendered). In fact, Armin uses distinctly male language in Japanese (he refers to himself as 僕ぼく (boku), which is a male pronoun, never to rarely used by women). Unlike Hanji who is usually gender-less in Japanese, and Isayama literally asked the official English manga translations to refer to Hanji as they/them, and they do refer to them as such.
thats actually non-binary means. not being in the binary system
OHHH MY GOOOOSSHHHHH😍😍😍😍 I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR MY BEAUTIFUL ADORABLE HANGEEE🥺🥺🥺💘 AND HER SEIYUUU🥺🥺🥺🥺 OMG IM CRYING FROM HAPPINESSS🥺🥺😭😭😭😫😫🤧🤧🤧💘💘💘
Park Romi usually voiced boy character more than girl chara so Hange really suit her
The way Kaji-san and Shimono-san say "Etto..." at the same time is adorable 🤭
Park Romi also voiced Pakunoda from Hunter x Hunter. So, Pakunoda is Annie with the voice of Hange 😁😁😁
She voiced Edward Elric too lol
I know that not knowing the gender of a character for most of Japanese fans is something very new. They are not used to a character being viewed ambiguously and tend to say that Hange's gender is an unsolved mystery. Hange's gender has become such a problematic topic lately. Isayama himself said that Hange's gender was up to the interpretation of the fans, you could see Hange as a woman, as non-binary, or even as a man and it should be ok. I don't understand people who attack others for their point of view, can't you just enjoy the best character of AoT in peace??
Yeah exactly you’re right. I already got death wishes for seeing hanji as a woman. The internet is full of fanatics lately
@@mioruki the worst thing is that they attack you just if you see Hange as "she"
Although I won't deny you might encounter people like these, five or four people don't have a significant representation... Also, I hope you realize stating facts is not attacking is just correcting some mistakes people might keep repeating incorrectly. Isayama, on his blog, said Hanji identifies with the song "Jibun rashiku" of the band Shinsei Kamattechan, a trans song. Whenever I see people saying they're a woman because "Isayama said we can choose", no... No, he didn't. He specifically asked Kodansha to refer to Hanji as "them" and also said HIMSELF in response to a fan who asked him about this on his blog in 2014 to NOT refer as Hanji with gender pronouns, if possible... This representation is not only important for non-binary people, but also for Isayama himself, otherwise he wouldn't have asked the anime team, the VA (as she said herself in 1:22) AND Kodansha to treat Hanji NOT as a woman, and to used the pronouns "them" when referring to HIS character.
Because she got boobs and a female body voice and reactions so maybe thats why i mean even when eren grab her from his cell she call him a pervert isayama tried to put a mistery on the background of her character like her age her past etc.. but some lgbtq facists jump right to the conclusion that she is a man or whatever and isayama couldnt say she is not because aot was already in a really hard position with accuses for racism facism and japanese imperialism so if isayama said that hanji is a woman would make all those lgbtq true facists to make different post and blaming the author and his reputation thats why she is a woman she is even have booty boobs eyelashes and female voice none can be so feminime in aot except if its boku no pico style anime so thats the deal.

YESS FINALLY I'VE BEEEN WAITING FOR THIS ONE TURN IT TF UP
This issue sounds like it came from newer fans which is irritating me, I heard back in 2016 that Isayama said that it’s up for the reader/viewer to decide because in the manga she uses both female, male, and NB pronouns so you can give her any pronoun and not have people argue about it for hours
Some nonbinary people, such as me, use she/her pronouns (I specifically use she/they) so it's not completely arrogant to use those, but I do get where people are coming from
Also I don't think her gender identity was evrn mentioned in the show, I'm not even sure if she was referred to with a pronoun in the story, so a person who never saw the interview may not even know about the ambiguous gender situation.
@@antonioklaic4839 im pretty sure they switched between pronouns when talking about hange. I remember some scouts using she/her but then like in other scenes they used words like "sir". Which would make sense cuz isayama said that he'd like it if people switched between pronouns when talking about hange.
@@zenzonerzz4789 sir is genderless
@pieck finger Let me ask you this. As a 30 yr old guy who was never brought up with these terms. I respect how people feel, but I get annoyed when people get mad when I don’t call he or she “they” because it’s just not natural to me. I respect how you feel but the way I see it is, respect that I feel awkward having to remember to refer to you as “they” all the time. It’s unnatural in my head. It’s grammar drilled in to me since I was little so I can’t change it but yet non binary get mad at me when it slips because I can’t change it.
How do you feel about this? I’ve lost friends because they hate that I refer to them as she/he.. but I’m like.. dude.. I’m not being disrespectful.. it’s grammatically incorrect. I’ve been brought up my whole life with this and only in the past 5 years have I even been aware of what this non binary term is.. and you are having a go at me for not using the correct pronouns when I literally can’t change how I speak? Is it really that big of a deal for you guys? I just don’t understand the reasoning behind it. It’s not like I’m trying to be disrespectful. I want to still be friends other wise I wouldn’t be speaking to them but why can’t they understand that it’s difficult to constantly try and be aware of the pronouns that I’m saying. The pronouns that I’ve been naturally been saying my whole life to suddenly have to be changed? It’ll always be unnatural in my head which is why it’s so difficult to change. It has nothing to do with respecting someones identity. I just don’t understand why it’s such a big issue to the point where I’ve lost friends over this
@illustrationink "I literally can’t change how I speak"
you literally can tho. you get over yourself and learn. if someone told you a word you grew up using was a slur, I would hope you'd change that about how you speak. so change this.
1:45 This translation is not correct.
"If Hange is written as a woman obviously, there was no necessity to have you play the part of her."
Park-san has played both male and female characters(like Edward in Fullmetal Archemist or Temari in Naruto). She has an unique voice and that's why Mima-san chose Park-san.
Omae yobanai(translated as "She wouldn't be called 'omae'") means "I wouldn't cast you(if Hange is obviously woman)."
Sorry for my poor English.

Their gender is literally nonbinary, outside of the gender binary, that's what this whole video was about. Whenever I see people saying they're a woman because "Isayama said we can choose", no... No, he didn't. In the end Hanjis gender isn’t revealed. People who are calling others transphobic and sending death threats for them seeing hanji as a woman are clearly missing the point and shouldn’t be allowed to spread their fucking toxic opinion in the internet.
Isayama himself said that hanjis gender isn’t important to the canon story and that everyone is free to interpret Hanji as they want. If you see Hanji as a woman? Fine. If she’s nb to you? Perfect! If you like Hanji as a man? Go on!
But you HAVE to respect the opinions of the people you’re talking to since they should also respect yours, who can’t do that is disrespecting the authors wish.
Fun fact Romi Park used to play Girono in the Ps2 game
Idc about what other people say about it but i still gonna use she/her pronouns and i see Hange as a woman
Its more easy to me, even more when i speak Spanish and we dont have neutral pronouns such as they
Now this is rare that I clicked right away
Isayama’s “Hange’s gender is up to interpretation” is old. In his recent interviews he said to avoid gendered terms and pronouns, Kodansha had to correct the first volumes of the manga. Isayama’s favorite band, Shinsei Kamattechan, has a nonbinary singer, Noko, who wrote a song about being nonbinary. Isayama said the song represents Hange.
Please everyone, listen to nonbinary people. We already have very little representation. It may not be a big deal to you, but it is to US. Thanks.

People are quoting the publisher and saying it's Isayama's words... So frustrating
And then AFTER that he said Hange's gender is female in anime and unknown (not nb but UNKNOWN) in the manga (in interview for magazine which released in November 2015) while the song thing he said in the summer of 2015....
@@m12love Do you think Isayama, a japanese author, is going to publicly say “Hange is non-binary”? In Japan, LGBT is still a taboo (almost no one is violent about it, they just don’t fully understand it yet). Just like how he confirmed Ymir’s sexuality by making her say she’s not interested in men, he confirmed Hange is not included in the binary genders by avoiding gendered terms, refusing to write them as a boy or as a girl. Stop treating “non-binary” as a third gender, being NOT BINARY is the absence of the binary gender itself, which means every character who isn’t strictly a boy or a girl is, in fact, nonbinary. I bet you aren’t this stupid to think a character is lgbt just because they walk with colored flags, screaming their sexuality. Esp in aot’s context. We’re just people yk.
@@yoshiko599 Isayama wouldn't say "non-binary" but he for sure knew about term "X-gender" - Japanese term for non binary people that is actually well understood and mostly accepted (Noko, the singer of Shinsei Kammattechan identifies with it - also fun fact, Noko themselves said in an interview the song Isayama reffered to was just a song about wishing gender stereotypes weren't so strict). He confirmed Ymir is into women the first time she appeared (and later confirmed she isn't into men) - Isayama already DID make LGBT characters so he certainly isn't afraid of breaking taboos.
As for Hange, he named her "Hanako Yamada" (archetypal Japanese woman's name) in his sketches before publishing chapter when she first appeared - so he thought of her as a woman when he created her but before deciding the name. It's only after someone asked him about Hange's gender because they couldn't tell from Isayama's drawings (quite rudly implying his art is shit) that he said "It's better I don't say anything, lol".
Isayama had every chance to use word "X-gender", he had every chance to say "Hange is neither a man nor a woman" and he never said it. He, instead, said Hange's gender is unknown and when a fan asked him he replied "EITHER one is fine". As for pronouns, Japanese is very different from English and Hange uses "watashi" (gn but feminine leaning, also pronoun every other woman in aot uses) 99% of the time but he almost never made her use "jibun" (gn but masculine leaning).
Stop excusing him and implying Japanese people are so small minded they can't comprehend such concepts when other Japanese artist have done similar things for decades now (characters such as Lady Oscar, Heinkel Wolfe, Sailor Uranus, Princess Knight(literally from 1950s)...).
Also, how do you write someone as a man/woman? Maybe I am just old fashioned but I thought men and women can have same personalities?

Fun Fact related to AoT and Beyblade Burst: Hange Zoe's VA shares the same VA with Lui Shirosagi :D
This is Soul Eater Crona all over again.

OMG😱 do you think Hange's mysterious gender has got something with her hidden backstory???
Up til now I'm still confused on why Isayama never reveal Hange's backstory🤔🤔 even Nanaba got a few seconds of her story in the anime 😢
HER LAUGH😂😂😂😂😂
I think hange use every pronun (he/she/they) and this is not transphobic (Im trans and I know when it is) some trans people, or even cis, use more than one pronuns or do not use those assigned to their gender :)
I personally think Isayama started out with a female Hange but his art style was still novice and he got a lot of questions, so he just decided to make them unisex (non-binary)
I think that’s great representation, regardless of Hange’s character origin, every producer stuck with the non-binary image. Not only Isayama himself, but the anime team took care to give Hange neutral pronouns and unisex clothing in merchandise arts (did you notice they only wear PE clothes in SNK Junior High spinoff?). And now I just learned that even Park Romi was given the direction to voice them as NB too! I think that’s wonderful.

Some see Hanji as female, so they call her female. Others see Hanji as male, so they call him male. Everyone has the freedom use whatever pronouns for Hanji they want. Hanji isn't they/them. Hanji isn't she/her nor he/him either. Everyone has their own pronouns for Hanji, and therefore I ask everyone to let each other do so because that's what Isayama wants.
Hange is a biological female. Gender is fluid. It's up to you what you want to refer to Hange with she/her,he/him,they/them. She/They is what most people use.
Temari talks about Hange's gender
when i first watched AOT i watched in dub.. so Hange will always be female for me..
Idk i consider hange a female because levi referred to her as "she" in S1 ep15 (just before eren and hange talked about the captured titans)
oh its Rockman's (8) VA
Hange has her own gender, "Hange"
Park Romi is the most senior among the three right?
yep
@@DenpaHeidanSubs also Kenny's VA and Levi's VA since his VA was voicing Trafalgar Law when One piece started
I think the oldest or most senior among them was Zeke VA since he was now turning 57 this year and also Levi's VA
I was talking about the three folk in the video and you people brought up Kamiya Hiroshi, Koyasu Takehito etc. Excellent, gentlemen.
@@jadeorbigoso5212 Yes, because he rejects his own humanity.
imagine wanting to make the gender of a character unknown so that it can be inclusive for everyone, but the LGBT community attacks u for not calling her trans/they/them....
hange is an awesome character, REGARDLESS of whatever gender you want to see her as. theres nothing wrong with either interpretation.
Stop making up stories I've seen way more people getting attacked for referring hange as them and not she like what you do
Hange is a fictional character to begin with, could Anime characters even feel offended as some people has claimed, I'm not sure. Is gender that important for the story of Attack on Titan? However you adress Hange it changes nothing about his/her contribution to the story. It's just "Hange" in the end and that's fine.
they wouldn't feel offended but I think the community would, if you're not respecting their gender and being transphobic. being transphobic to one person not only affects them but the whole trans community
@@baseddepartment6606 exactly.
I don't think the translation is correct.
01:35 - She is talking about this stuff.
At first I played it like a foreign English dubbing.
(She had dubbed Cameron Diaz, Helena Bonham Carter, Hilary Swank, etc. in the past)
But I was told by the director that was not the case.
He said. 'If she(hange) was a normal woman, I wouldn't have offered you a job".
I was convinced that he was right.
So that's what the director was telling her.
I think the director said, "You have done a lot of male voices in your career.
That's why I asked you to do this job.
Them: "Hanges gender is a mystery." Also them using she/her pronouns for hange 0.0
Which is allowed. They're not stated to be non-binary, it's just left up to interprettation. If they want to use she/her for hange, they can.
@@zenzonerzz4789 not they can't I have so many proofs, isayama wasnt the one who said their gender is up to you it was their editor and also isayama told shinsei kamettechan (group that made my war and one more ending) to make a song for hange and mention "I'm not a girl, I'm not a guy I'm am myself"
LITERALLY LMAOOO
@@baseddepartment6606 say it louder!
@@zenzonerzz4789 my dude, that's literally whst being non-binary means, hence why Hanji is non-binary, NOT a woman. Their VA herself says this at 2:18... This representation is not only important for non-binary people, but also for Isayama himself, otherwise he wouldn't have asked the anime team, the VA AND Kodansha to treat Hanji NOT as a woman, and to used the pronouns "them" when referring to HIS character.
Connie and Eren and hanji Zoë
hearing that the fact hanji may be non binary is going to be so cool and hanji is my favourite characterr✨
I actually had no idea that Hange's gender was in question. I assumed female because the first name is Zoe. But, being non-binary myself, I'm kinda happy because Hange is one of my favourite AOT characters
Her first name is Hange. Zoe is her last name.
@@MugdhaMahdiShams ah crap, you're right. I'm so used to Japanese stuff using last names I forgot that AOT doesn't do that
@@MugdhaMahdiShams Oh! Is it? Thanks for letting us know, I was under the impression Zoe was their first name as well
And yeahh, same here, I assumed Hange was a female as well because of the pronouns used towards her in the anime, but I like her even more knowing she could be interpreted as non binary :’)

At the last episode at manga eren die but i don want eren dead menh will he be resurect again??? or will he die forever
Hange is a woman, and those saying otherwise are in a state of pure cope.
The author said it’s up to the viewer but I guess I’ll take the word of a random internet person.
@@sir.dreamer378 It doesn't matter what the author has said if we can deduce something from the material.
In anime i think it's pretty much clear that Hange is a girl.
@@Wlof25 of course you don't care what Isayama has to say about his own character design, not to mention Hanji's own VA confirming they're NOT a woman, and in fact, they're non-binary (1:22 and 2:18). It's as if I suddenly decided to not care about the fact Levi and Mikasa are Ackermans with the powers that that implicates.
It seems like the one coping, and in denial, is you, my dude. Facts, the character's creator, anime team and character's VA are not on your side lol
@@FaiaHalo oh and I'm sure JK Rowling always intended for Dumbledore to be gay and totally didn't jump on that opportunity. Give me a break.
She had a crush on Erwin btw
Unisexual is closer to Androgenous than Non-Binary. Non-Binary is a much more complex term.
This !
It's more of an umbrella term know I think and people research and are able to pin point exactly how they identify but for people who don't knls the exact gender in question they would say hey I'm non binary.
I've always believed Hange is a girl and she is. 😀
@@baseddepartment6606Well, it's upto the audience to decide that. I believe Hange is a girl, so she is, for me. Furthermore, it's highly unlikely for Hange to be a boy.
@@baseddepartment6606 either way, I still believe Hange is a girl.
@@baseddepartment6606 Please, let me believe what I want to believe, bro. I'm well aware that Hange's gender isn't specified. Whoever said that, they clearly meant that it's upto the audience to decide whether Hange is a boy or a girl, so I want to believe that Hange is a girl. Thank you! 👍🏻
@@baseddepartment6606 Bro, what's the big deal? It's been stated everywhere that Hange's gender is not specified and it's UPTO THE AUDIENCE TO DECIDE THAT. Besides, I'm not the only thinks that Hange's a girl, almost everyone here (probably above 90%) thinks that Hange's a woman. YES, I'm allowed to decide that because I'm an audience so please don't tell me again about this stuff. I'm free to decide that, and it's also true for everyone else in this world!
@@baseddepartment6606 Anyway, Hange is a woman.
I don’t know why people see it as transphobic when someone calls Hange a women or uses only she/her pronouns. As for me I view Hange as nonbinary with any pronouns because I’m nonbinary myself and it’s a comfort to have a character which I can interpret in my own way. But some people get so mad when someone calls Hange a women and for what reason I have no clue?
Stop forcing people to think that Hange is a certain gender identity, Hange is unlabeled and it’s been that way since the very beginning. Hange’s gender doesn’t matter when it comes to Hange’s story and personality, it doesn’t change anything at all. Focusing on Hange’s gender just means you’re limiting Hange’s entire characterization as that one AOT character who is possibly LGBTQ+. Let people think what they want. It goes both ways to all the fans who think Hange is either a woman or nonbinary.
