The Never Ending Disaster of Leeds United
As a Leeds fan thanks mate I needed this after a depressing feeling today
It’s all good mate, hope you’re well
Viz, this video coming right around the time I'm doing editing...perfect background noise plus knowledge, 10/10, no notes, thanks for being there for me big homie!
Love you bro, always supporting!
I knew this was coming after the loss to Middlesbrough yesterday 😂
In fairness it’s been needing done since the play-off final, I just felt bad if I did it instantly😂
I feel great with my Boro promotion pick now 😌
@@samelmudirMe too 😊

Losing Rutter hurt more than anything else. Forget his output. Forget his numbers. He simply makes Leeds fun to watch. Gutted to see him go but I will support him wholeheartedly at Brighton
As a leeds fan myself:
I came into this season with optimism due to the red bull minor stake ownership and with more money, maybe our key players would stay, I was confident gray would stay, but we forced him out for more money.
Now I am dreading this campaign with all our key players gone and no real speculation on signings.
I wish we'd kept bielsa and marched on through the tough time, as I always had confidence in him no matter the opponent, and the team just working like a well oiled machine.
I genuinely believe if we kept bielsa, we would be in contention for European football.
I think you’ll be fine but don’t think you’ll get Top 2, which is not good enough at this moment for Leeds
What frustrates me is Villa had been in the Championship and were below us in the league when they sacked Gerrard. We stuck with Marsch and they got Emery and look at the difference. What was the point in hiring Bielsa and getting promoted if you're just going to turn around sack him, trash him and replace him with someone far worse?
RB Leeds😂😂😂
After our first season we absolutely could (and should) have been in contention. I remember Marcelo said “okay I basically need a whole new squad as we massively over preformed.” And Radz said “no.” The rest, unfortunately, is history…
God damn I miss him so much
@@SpiritOfMontgomery you don't sack a manager before you let him replace the promotion players.
As a Leeds fan, I respect that you didn't just shit on us, and it actually seems like you care.
Being a Leeds fan is like a giant rollercoaster lots of ups & downs
Mainly goes down tbh
Been a Leeds fan since the 90s, but I'm also American. This has been a very rough few years to be both. 😭😭
Life long Leeds fan. Absolutely bang on mate
When I managed Leeds United the organisation was making money every season, acquisitions were profitable overall. Left the club in a healthy position too.
LMA 2005 was a great game.
LMA 2007 will forever have a place in my heart
@@Vizeh Got complicated by then lol
I thought you were gonna say you're Bielsa
@@clivet3252 Definitely not Argentinian Mr.T
Couldn't you have popped round and given Ken Bates a visit? 😂
I genuinely think we will be in league one in 3 years. There is 0 chance we go up this year without Rutter which is disastrous as we have so much debt to pay off and also the remaining decent players we have will leave, leaving us with scraps and players like Bamford, Byram and Darlow who would struggle to get into teams 18th and above meaning that our squad will be so poor that our manager will also be poor and I think eventually this will lead to us getting relegated or at best being a midtable championship team
Debt got nothing to do with it, its the release clauses, and the rapid fall of the club scaring players away
Radz sought to destroy the club as his last act here, and he has succeeded.
@@sawyertuide7636forget Radz. He's gone. Kinnear is still here and the 49ers were around when Bielsa was sacked. The 49ers could have got a proper manager.
@@clivet3252True, though their best options were really Farke and Potter
The real issue is not spending on replacements, and I honestly don’t know what their true intentions are.
@@sawyertuide7636 people thought Heckingbottom was the best option then we got Bielsa
As a leeds fan u covered everything and i agree with most of what you said. I am still worrying about the transfers because we havnt made a move for anyone lately and we have sold a lot of players so we need players in the club otherwise we will struggle this season
As an American Manchester United fan, it brought a smile to my face seeing this in my feed. But I do think they should be a lot better than this.
7:15 ever thought of making rap music?
Loosing Gray was depressing, loosing Summerville was painful (albeit expected), but loosing Rutter is absolutely devastating. The 49ers need to spend big and fast.
Aaronsons brother is available.
I live in Australia and religiously follow 2 codes, with my AFL Carlton team and my beloved Leeds. Completely different sports, but crazy how these 2 teams have 1 thing in common. They Promise you the world but leave you gutted and confused by season end. Almost feel like I am in an abusive relationship with no escape 😢
Try 51 yrs with a couple of great things but we are Leeds & no matter what we will watch till we can’t anymore
When you have still have Patrick Bamford as No.9 what do you expect. He hasn’t had double figures in three seasons.
At least you could say he’s a backup? A poor one at that for a promotion aspiring side
He s a cripple too
Hearing joy division at the end of the season, I swear it's better than christmas
We are definitely most of the division's cup final. As well as the Yorkshire clubs you have the likes of Sunderland and Boro, as well as old 60/70's rivalries like Derby and more recently West Brom. I think if you asked fans from every team in the division the majority of them would name Leeds as the game they wanted to win most, with maybe the exception of the steel city derby.
Honestly every point is bang on. Good video👍👊
I agree with most of what you said and this is not being arrogant and no football team should have a god given right to success but Leeds is the 3rd or 4th biggest city in England with one club in it the fans have every right to and should expect more than what we get in return for the loyal passionate support that they show. We wouldn’t be where we are today if not for risdale and his overspending that caused us to implode. If we don’t go up this year my fear is we are stuck in this league for years to come like before if we go up and establish ourselves there the sky could be the limit, we have won top flight titles played European cup finals granted many years ago now but why not again with the size, scale and potential of the football club. Every club big or small is reliant on the wealth and intentions of the ownership and we always seem to have duff owners. Having said that wealth doesn’t seem to matter as much any more because Newcastle can’t spend there’s but city, Chelsea and psg can do what ever they want, one rule for some and another for everybody else. For me Leeds need to sign players and even take the risk of breaking psr, promotion to the premier league would definitely be worth it. P.s I don’t if you can tell but I hate modern football.
growing up with a newcastle supporter for a dad and leeds united fan's on my mum's side, i'm very grateful for my dad putting me in a newcastle babygrow aged 3 months. that's all i'll say! (not that we've had an easy ride...)
Whilst Mike Ashley was a terrible owner, he knew the money he craved so much was in the top flight, hence why he only oversaw 2 seasons outside of it in the PL era instead of 18
@@declanthomas7159 honestly those were dark, dark days but there were some high points - won’t ever forget that 2011/12 season
The funny part is before Saudi Money you were just as frustrating as Leeds I’d imagine
@@Vizeh they had 9s like Andy Carroll in the 2nd tier, we had 9s like Billy Paynter and Luke Varney.
@@Vizeh the Ashley years were rough i can’t lie 😭 but it never felt quite as bad as Leeds which was a nice comparison
Leeds were the darlings of football in the late 90's/early 2000's. They made the Champions League semi final in 2001 with a lot of young academy players like Robinson, Woodgate, Harte, Kewell and Smith in their squad with other young players like Rio Ferdinand, Robbie Keane, Michael Bridges, Lee Bowyer and Danny Mills. It just seemed like a no brainer that they were going to be one of the top English clubs of the 2000's. And in 2004 they were relegated 🤦♂
Describe consistency with one word

Love the video Viz! As an MU fan I think you nailed the perspective of "the cup final" atmosphere around Leeds. Loved watching them under Bielsa.
Fantastic editing on this one aswell!👏
Would you mind sharing the background music you used in this video? It gave it a great atmosphere.
I’m a Leeds fan. I had high hopes for this season and 2 games in and it’s already ruined.
I'm thinking of getting a season ticket for Farsley just so I don't have to watch leeds this season 😂
Need a new manager ASAP
Really sad to see what Patrick could have done had he not had 3 massive injuries in the 21-22 season. And even deeper than that actually been used by the teams he was being loaned to by Chelsea in his early career. very confidence dependent player.
As a Leeds fan this is classic Leeds, before first game last week full of positivity going into second game feel like everything is fucked, need 3 points today just to settle the fan base, away at Brom won't be easy
Leeds fan for 65 years and totally agree with everything you've said. Cheers, bud.
It is the history of the Leeds
As a Bolton fan we have gone through a similar thing just a division lower, Paris Maghoma left us for Plymouth after our Wembley Woes… we are in a better place now than RB Leeds I think.
How do you work that one out? Like you say you are in a division below us and are likely to stay there.
Nice video , keep it up 👍
Our first game after the slamming shut of the transfer window, is against Leeds. They might be in meltdown mode by then, it will be interesting how it all goes down given both squads have been locked in for the two weeks of the international break. UTC
One thing about supporting Leeds is it's never boring. This is because there is constant drama on and/or off the pitch. Whether it's terrible owners, bad decision making, selling good players and not replacing them, financial woe, inexplicable dips in form just at the wrong time and a tiresome ability to not show up for that crucial match/final. It's been going on for decades. I'm sure other supporters might think the same about their club but on the face of it there are many teams from the PL down who just grind on year in year out rarely challenging for or winning anything much and not involved in relegation or promotion drama. Spurs are a team who spring to mind.
spurs are always challenging for something tho. not trophies, but league positions. a team like palace were a better fit for that until this season
As a Leeds fan “Leeds are never meant to be happy” is probably almost bang on.
im a leeds fan and i honestly agree with every point you gave here
That means a lot, thank you
Ur channel evolution has actually been so good gotta give u ur flowers I cant lie, been in this youtube game for a while
It's funny that you draw parallels with Everton as I'm an Evertonian & think Leeds has a brilliant fanbase!
Oh Dylan... You haven't been brought up right have you, lad? You don't say things like that about Leeds. They exist for us to hate.
@@footballfanar9717🤷♂Oh, well!

"Willfred Ger-nonto" 😂
As a Leeds supporter for half a century I would have been happy to just stick with bielsa and hold on for dear life 🤷♂️
Bielsa elevated the club, even when we got spanked. I think he was very hurt when the club management sacked him. Myself, I would have given him the job for life, and recruited players that wanted to play the game his way, maybe more Argentina and Uruguay lads mixed in with British.
Hi, Vizeh. I want you to make a video called "The Problem with Scottish Football" about Celtic and Rangers dominance
Nice work lad, really enjoyed that.. ALAW
Being born in Leeds from a family that supports Leeds and being a true fan. I don't find any of this remotely hilarious... but i'm glad you do... imagine being a England fan too.. now you understand a tiny amount of the pain we endure supporting our club...
That is the point of the video to be fair, I highlight why it feels that way to people that aren’t Leeds fans
Typical Leeds mindset. Leeds are a massive club, arguably the biggest in the EFL and should be a mid-table PL side AT LEAST. Hold your club accountable instead of playing the victim, imagine being an Oldham Athletic, Birmingham City or Bolton Wanderers fan. They know real pain.
As a Leeds fan, I think we are good but that’s coming from a massive fan, in reality I think we are good but deserve at most top 10 in the prem
We're absolutely fucked mate. Simply put, worrying and dark times for Leeds.
Things you love to see
As the African proverb says "20 kids can't play together for 20 years".
Oddly fitting for the Premier League, isn't it?
There's a saying that Leeds United was created for the entertainment of everyone else apart from Leeds fans.
Leeds will be a yo yo team for the foreseeable future, similar to Norwich. Its so difficult for teams to consolidate and establish themselves in the PL. I think of Bolton who were in the PL for years and eventually got relegated and seem a million miles away from those days now.
you know its bad when we get a vizeh video ffs
As a Leeds fan i want to give up many times, but I still somehow cope
You also forgot to mention that the win away at Boro was purely down to incredibly bad referring as at least one of their goals shouldn’t have stood.
“Leeds to league one” There we land.
Your musical choices are good buddy 🇺🇸
It's a shame we haven't ditched all of the dead wood in the team (Gruev, Struijk, Bamford to name a few) and lost all of our best players. It seems like this takeover was simply to milk the club dry of its assets and ditch it. Shit time to be a Leeds fan, but then again it has pretty much been that way for over 20 years now.
As a leeds fan theres no such thing as a non stressful season
You talk a lot of sense my friend, I've been saying the same thing.I'm 50 odd years a Leeds fan since '72 cup final so I remember the last days of the great days. Even then it was very hit and miss. Inbred Pessimism they called it, I've learned not to get too excited but still hopeful. MOT,
The current situation... Don't really know where to start.
We've lost 4 key first team players, 2 of which being our top goalscorer and our top assist maker.
We have a massive creative hole in the middle of the park, left back has been a problem for over half a decade that we seemingly refuse to fix.
We're now light on both flanks. We have a very inexperienced striker, an injury prone striker and a striker who should be a striker but isn't really, nor is he a number 10 which makes him basically pointless.
Despite promises that our business will be concluded much sooner compared to last season we're now sat with 2 weeks left to go in the window and now needing 5 players while we've managed to muster just 3 signings in the last 6 weeks.
We've brought in more transfer income than any team in Europe and yet refuse to spend even a little bit of it to plug the massive holes in the team... This despite the fact that the sale of Summerville and Gray were supposed to fix the PSR requirements and open up the possibility on incomings.
We sit on our bloody hands while other teams get deals done at near lighting speed. Top quality targets come and go while we seemingly stare off blankly into the distance drooling or grinding our faces against a brick wall trying to get players that teams don't want to sell.
In closing, I hate being a bloody Leeds fan about 67% of the time.
With the left back situation - Who's fault was it giving us the bargain of the decade in Leif Davis?
Exactly what I said last video.
9pm is Vizeh Prime Time.
Here in the Western US it’s 11 am and that’s perfect for me
Much love bro for being here❤
As a Leeds fan, we only deserve to be where we are. We don't deserve to be in the PL just because we used to be there. But the end of this month really is a make or break for us. I can't blame the 49ers for Summerville or Rutter leaving but I can blame them for not being ready for them going with new signings coming in as soon as possible. Since the start of the transfer window, they have promised an even more competitive team for this season but we are now worse. Farke talked about needing new signings early before the season starts but here we are again. We have made some smart signings under 49ers but they haven't made a single successful star player singing yet. Hope they get good players in but it's looking grim atm
I'm a Leeds fan and agree with all of this. It's going to be a tough tough season. I don't know how we even begin to replace Archie, Georgie, and Summerville.
We can't so we don't. We'll have to use a system vs rely on players. Not sure Daniel's current system is suitable.
you explain it in the best way 👍
You know the guys on the top of the team directive were not profesional, when after just some bad months they drop the guy who make them on the premier (bielsa)
They failed to back him after a great first season back in the PL, finishing on par with Spurs and Arsenal, and well above Villa.
That 4 nil win to stay up was purely hilarious because we all knew Leeds United would Leeds United more than they ever Leeds United'ed before, comedy you just can't match

Seen the state of your club. Great 5 year plan you had wasn't it? Overspent and straight back down and never been close since.
The thing is at QPR we love to play Leeds and we usually have a good record against them. When we say "Cup Final" it's usually to mock them because of their history I feel like their fans have a pretentious nature which is annoying
Leeds, like Newcastle , are the only major club in a big city.
I would imagine it's boring not having the banter with local fans.

For as good as Rutter is he can absolutely not shoot he’s one of the most frustrating players to watch he’s fun to watch but whenever he’s around the box you just know he will fuck it up.. 40 million is what Brighton payed for him crazy money
We honestly need Leeds back in the Prem on history and vibes.
Relegate Fulham, Bournemouth, Southampton, Brentford, Ipswich Town (Keep Brighton for now, Mitoma tax)
Bring up Blackburn Rovers, Sunderland, Middlesbrough, Leeds, Swansea (Michu tax)
I’ve been a Leeds United fan ever since I was young, I’m 26 now so probably around 20 years now of supporting the club, and I know every fan will say it about the club but there’s always that something about Leeds, whether it’s the ups or the downs, but when it’s the downs it’s a very horrible place to be, for fans, the owners, and players, even when we’re doing well we have fans that slag the sh*t out of the team.
I’m starting to slowly lose hope at the moment, with lie after lie after lie. It’s just lie after lie after lie, and there’s UA-cam videos of interviews of the 49ers and they’ve all been removed, they said that we’ll be aggressive in the window to bring on players that was another lie, they said that there won’t be anymore sales that’s a lie, said about contract situations , that’s a lie, and now from watching and listening to Leeds fans it’s becoming very toxic around elland road, I will always love the club but the feeling that I have now is exactly what you said “it’s heavy” and that feeling I hate, when Leeds lose my week/ weekend is ruined when I believe the club is on the rise something serious happens and I think we’re in that “serious” bracket right now.
The videos have been removed? From the official channel?
If so that's even more sus/condemning.
@@nicbongo no not from the channel it self, there’s been videos taken from from American channels that have interviews with paarg, of his ambitions of this season and how he plans to the run the club etc so I think it’s a little
Sus
With no Rutter, no Summerville and no Gray we are a bang average team. Can't see where we are going to get replacements in next few days. We'll be lucky to get near the play offs.
Not even a week in to the new season and it feels like it’s gone to crap already. Told grays sale made us compliant with psr, yet the sales keep coming. If there’s no signings and money spent before the window closes, the the 49ers have a lot to answer for.
Would you fancy Middlesbrough to be in the promotion mix this year? Looks like a lot of momentum and talent building
Carrick future top manager, this could be his breakout season.
Writing this half an hour before kick off and we're good at home but I think we'll draw to Leeds today
I remember the Leeds team from early 1970's, they were a horrible side. I even remember their keeper Gary Sprake, punching Bobby Gould in the face, and somehow ref booked Gould. Now they are a Yo-Yo club. a warning to other clubs that, they are not guaranteed to be top tier.
The reason Sprake wacked Gould was because he went in late on him ,after he had the ball, you can,t blame Sprake for that.
Perfect title for this vid would have Leeds are falling again
The Leeds United problem is simple, is a club that always settle for mediocrity. They don't act like a big club, therefore are not a big club. How Daniel Farke is allowed to stay at his job after the meltdown last season is beyond a joke.
Spot on. When they did act like a big club and went out and got Bielsa they were successful.

all leeds aren't we?
Absolutely hate Leeds Utd, and everything about the club. They expect to be a Premier League club, but they're nowhere near good enough. Then you've got their fans, one of the most arrogant bunches of all time!
Leeds all my life, and I’m actually embarrassed by the arrogance of some Leeds supporters however there is an amazing amount of normal joes following Leeds but are humble and decent football people just like many other clubs fans, I live in central Leeds and obviously we are mostly Leeds supporters and honestly I can say we sit chatting about games the same way everyone else does, if we get well beat we admit we were well beat, we compliment other teams and clubs, we compliment good players and managers, I do not know any Leeds supporter (and I know a lot) who thinks we are bigger or better than anyone else, we do think we have been abused by owners for a longtime as they seem to take money out yet give not a lot in return, Ridsdale for all his faults had a good go at success but the gamble backfired but he tried and personally cannot find hate for him, please remember we have a lot of people attaching themselves to the club from its previous reputation so think its ok to cause trouble, us genuine leeds supporters watch leeds (if you can get a ticket, no arragance there its just nigh on impossible in league games) then go pub or wherever and just chat footie or whatever, but yes we are beyond proud to be leeds, ill sit and talk to millwall lads, chelsea, man utd, anyone absolutely any decent person, the ‘Leeds would have took more’ ‘champions of Europe’ etc etc is not what we are about although to be fair when champions of Europe kicks in its good passionate noise and atmosphere is everything in the game or it’s pretty pointless, I get the dislike of arrogance and agree with the dislike but we just love our club the same as every other supporter, Leeds and pompey were drinking togeather last week in town just how it should be a proper game, then just normal joes having banter and a pint.

Good video as an outsider. Factually incorrect in places. This time last season we was in the exact same predicament. Opening day draw, out the cup in round 1 and desperate to make signings. Then we turned it around and for the most part had a good season which any other season with our points tally would’ve been promoted. So I don’t see how we can’t replicate that this season?
Maybe we can go cap in hand to Chelsea and sign a few of their bloated squad on the cheap.

If we had kept Bielsa, these three and more would be in our squad today, in the PL.
I hate to say it, but we're now a 1st Division side. All the top Champ players have gone. Pre-season was tremendous, but now the cupboard is bare. There are no top strikers out there to buy; they wouldn't come now if there were. We've got one point. After W Brom, we'll still have that point. That'll put us near the bottom.
