I really liked that one, Ray. I have a ghost story well, sort of. When I was in high school, my school bus driver found out that I was interested in cars. He gave me an old Studebaker that he had out at his farm. He no longer lived there and the place had seen better days. Every day during the summer, I rode my bicycle out there to work on it. I was usually towing a hand truck full of tools, battery, tires, ect. The farm was only about, a mile from my house. This was suburbia and this really, out of place farm was on the outskirts of town and looked quite deserted. After a few trips out there, I happened to look toward the house for some reason and saw an old woman in the house, sitting there, at the window, looking out at me. She was dressed all in black, with a shawl around her shoulders. That scared the living daylights out of me and I quickly, left. I came to find out later, that it was the school bus driver's elderly mother, who still lived there.

Wow Ray, that tale was as great at it was eerie... most often people will choose to not share odd experiences for fear of ridicule, so thanks ever so much for sharing. From the description of the occurrences it would seem to fit the category of a "residual energy imprint" haunting...
Wow... residual energy imprint... I like that. I've never told anyone about my experiences because I'd always thought that I'd be laughed at. I'm changing my mind now.

Strange flickering light as you describe suggests some sort of electrical phenomena? Still it is a brilliant 'ghost' story and thanks for taking the time and trouble to put it on here!
Hi Ray, this is an awesome video. Thanks for sharing. You reminded me of a former friend of mine, who used to work at my workplace in Sydney NSW. He lived in Janali, a SE suburb of Sydney, at the time and there was an old house that had a eerie history. Apparently years before, a man had killed his wife and hung her corpse outside of the bedroom window, then played the Death March on the organ there at midnight before shooting himself. The house had since been demolished and it was an empty lot, but where the house had been, no grass would grow. If close enough to the area, it was claimed that there was an invisible step on the site, exactly where the house step had been standing. Also, at midnight the organ could be heard playing the Death March on the empty lot, despite nothing being there. My friend and his friends drove outside the lot around midnight and decided to blast music from their car radio to drown out the sound of the organ. However, when the radio was switched on, the Death March played all over the dial. Obviously, they then broke the speed limit getting away from the place. Later on, a new house was built, which looked very similar to the previous house. The person who bought the place was seen arriving dressed in black and driving a hearse. Anyway, take care. Robert.
Excellent! Here's one for you. I work on a commercial DAB station, and we're very low budget; so you can imagine the cramped/small studio conditions. Anyway I and another presenter were in the building just the two of us. It had some old stuff knocking around from the previous tenants namely nurse/care training things, dolls you can give the kiss of life and things like that which we boxed up and kept in case the people who owned them wished to collect. I was just editing up some audio for my show in one half of the partitioned room and he was in the live studio (in the other half of the partitioned room); they were literally next to each other, like sink to bath in the bathroom kind of distance. He turned the music down and we were just chatting, next thing there was this massive 'thump' on the door which used to lead in to the two rooms (bare in mind we were the only two people in the building); I opened the door and there was one of the resuscitation dolls (it's just like the upper body; you may be aware of them) with an oxygen mask on, which had hit the door. These were all packed up in boxes right at the back of the building as said and nobody had gained access as we had CCTV on the only entrance and it was attached to a light in both rooms if the main entrance door was opened. As I'm giving it "what the absolute %&%&" the other lad;s phone rang and it was his mum explaining his Grandad had just been rushed into hospital with breathing problems. I'm one of the most skeptical people alive, but make of that what you will! Love your videos Ray! :)
Tony Kenyon hi Tony, that's a scary one. Very interesting. The resuscitation dolls are scary enough, let alone banging going on. Thanks for that, I enjoyed reading it. Cheers, Ray.
If you had told anyone this story back then they would have thought you were nutters ha ha. Some darn creepy things have happened around technology. This is a great story. Claude in Pittsburgh PA in USA. My grandfather was a Brit. Best wishes.
@@g4nsj - Sometime I will have to tell you about us setting up a 1 kw AM broadcaster and running it continuous for a week here in the states. Truth is the FCC does not care about AM radio. We used two inverted V antennas. One east west and one north south and run them cophased on 1610 AM at 1kw 24/7 for two weeks and shut down. Generators running on an inaccessible hill. We were all grown men. Hams and engineers having a few laughs at others expense playing oldies and using a cell phone to take calls on the air back in the early 2000's. The DJ who owned the mix board and the transmitter gave away Tshirts and I still have one. The old KQV radio station here in Pittsburgh was on for years and was a rock and roll station later turned news. We were playing oldies like they did in the 60's. It was to commemorate the DJ's 40th high school reunion where him and his buddies like you set up a pirate radio station back then. This time we one up'ed the anti with a kilowatt that could be heard for 30 miles in each direction day or night and sometimes further LOL Made the local stations nuts when they found out ha ha ha. The police chased off the DF'ers who were other station engineers. Accused them of being prowlers and trespassers. We were all in on it and had a good time. It was really fun.
Only just had my CB radio for a few days and came across a freaky frequency/transmission. Ever heard about the ouija board counting down from 10-0. I'm aware of the unnatural things like the paranormal, I been investigating it for many yrs, not so much anymore but its always around the corner so to speak. So here I am in the dark, Mobile, sitting in my car and its pretty late. I was scanning the airwaves for a listen and all of a sudden at the top of the range, the scan would stop, sounding like skip coming in, then every second number it would stop then crackle like skip. It would stay on that number for about 2 seconds, this continued all the way down to 22 until I realized there maybe something up so stopped the scan and switched off and back on again I continued with manual scan. Over the next couple of hours every now and again, I would scan the airwaves and it didn't happen again. As I am new to CB radio this may be the norm for CB folks but it did freak me out a little. Maybe you could enlighten me. Thanks
The singing could have been somebody piggybacking your signal with a suppressed-carrier transmission. That doesn't explain the noise upstairs though. William Peter Blatty used to try to record ghosts on cassette.
@@g4nsj The only problem that I can see with humming along with the music on a suppressed-carrier transmission is that it would have required live monitoring in order for the prankster to know what he was doing, which might be difficult with any significant power.
Once again Ray a great story, when I was a lad I could swear I heard voices in the off station static, It was more than likely mum watching tele downstairs but when your a kid the imagination runs wild and I thought it was people from another planet hahahahaha....
Nothing would surprise me, we use static detectors in our line of work and from our experience they are good detectors. We also use a device called a spirit box, this is basically a radio scanner that we play in reverse, so in theory, a forward speaking voice is unlikely to be earthly..... Food for thought.
I live in Australia and use a Hallicrafters S20r (great receiver) and I still think people from other planets or dimensions are talking to me but i'm not a kid anymore I hope it's normal behaviour lol....Thanks Ray for the reply...
An interesting experience Ray to say the least. Arn't these paranormal events supposed to be on the electromagnetic wavelength? there seems to be more to these sort of thing than initially meets the eye, so to speak. Perhaps we should all keep an open mind.
Hi Ray, I was listening to your story with headphones on and nearly jumped out my skin when your phone went off at 5:50. Sounds like there was more risk from the spirits than the GPO for a change and when I say spirits I mean all that booze LOL. Great story keep them comming 73 M0DAD
Very chilling tale that brought the hairs on the back of the neck stand up. In a good way though I wonder if that girl was happy to have had her singing broadcast on the radio for a few to hear anyway.
That"s a weird story Ray, I really enjoyed it.Do you have any tales of "Numbers" stations. Although I know they are not ghosts lol. Also - do you sell spare parts from old radios? I am looking for a variable capacitor for an AM loop antenna I have made.Just wondered.
frank curry hi Frank, glad you liked he story. I don't sell spares but you'll probably find a capacitor on eBay. Number stations are interesting, I'll give it some thought. Cheers, Ray.
Thanks Ray - I will look on eBay. I used to have a few vintage radios but sold them a few years ago.I want to try and pick up Radio Caroline when it starts broadcasting legally to Essex soon. The loop antenna I made does work without the capacitor, but would help with fine tuning.Cheers Ray 73.
Hello Ray, interesting story you told, I loved it. As you will notice, we are a paranormal team and have a lot of experience with recording spirit noises and voices. A few points I would love to make are that spirit is attracted to energy, be it our own, or electrical, we often experience battery drainage when investigating. It sound like one of a number of things were going on and by you and your friends being in that property, the spirit of the girl was attracted to your presence and the electrical/electronic activity. There are several ways spirits can communicate with us, magnetic tape is one way we can record voices, it is fsr better than memory chips etc, but few people use it these days. The recording of spirit voices is called EVP, but there is something that we are currently experimenting with that is called DRV (Direct Radio Voice). We have recently purchased a 1950 murphy valve radio and will perform regular experiments on short wave, as this seems to be a favourite of spirits. You may have heard of the Scole Experiments, some of these touched on DRV as it has been performed for many years by a respected Italian medium using valve radios. If any of your viewers are interested, we would love to answer questions :) You will notice, I use the word spirit rather than ghost, ghosts are extremely rare, but spirit is everywhere. We are energy and when we pass over, we stay as energy. Keep up the interesting posts, they are appreciated, John
Hi John, thanks for your interesting comment. I don't know what to think after reading your post. Direct radio voice... That's got me thinking. There was another incident with radio transmission that was rather scary. I'll make that my next video. Cheers, Ray.
When we were teenagers, back in the 70`s, there was an old house back in the woods where we rode our off-road motorcycles, we called the spook house. I think back then, our bunch would have scared off any ghosts.
i used to work at the "fort peck hotel....(in fort peck, montana, USA).....its known as a ghost hotel and what not because of that fame.....and a picture taken of a ghost in 1930s clothing on the 3rd story....which is unfinished/original we keep the 3rd story locked my mother also worked out their in cleaning rooms....i washed dishes..... we were both on the 2nd story, i was helping because a lady called in sick....and sure enough... foot steps on the 3rd floor.....walked about 10 feet down the hall, right over our heads we both kinda looked at each other like......uh.....wut.... we checked the locks..... 2nd story was good, first story was good..... no other ways to get up their.. fork peck is home to the ""worlds largest hydraulically earth filled damn".........its a big ill of water/dirt mix that dried out after being pumped miles it was a depression relief program started in 1936 iicr.......and in 38, when the 4 mile long damn was almost done.....it slide into the lake side killing ~18 (iirc), who are still inside the "core pool" somewhere......ya basicly drive on top of their graves

Hi Ray, I was listening to your story with headphones on and nearly jumped out my skin when your phone went off at 5:50. Sounds like there was more risk from the spirits than the GPO for a change and when I say spirits I mean all that booze LOL. Great story keep them comming 73 M0DAD
Oops, sorry about that! I think people wait until I'm making a video ... and then phone me! Uncanny! Cheers, Ray.
as always truly random flashes
Seems to me you've experienced EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomenom)
Very chilling tale that brought the hairs on the back of the neck stand up. In a good way though I wonder if that girl was happy to have had her singing broadcast on the radio for a few to hear anyway.
I wonder...
Great story shame you still don’t have the tape.
Do you know anyone who can build rigs and link boxes?
Fehmida Bibi sorry, I don’t.
@@g4nsj thank you for your reply. If you can point me in the right direction I'd appreciate your help
Fehmida Bibi I’m sorry I don’t know of anyone. If I find someone I’ll let you know.
Great story do like to listen to your tales .
Thanks!
Oh wow. great story. these could be turned into such a good movie!
ZS1CDG - Electronics and Amateur Radio Now, there's a thought!
Woods, fish and chips, meadows......the old days complimented by a spooky tale in the old house.........great.
Happy days!
Brilliant story Ray. We have a limited understanding of our universe - who knows what it was... spooky. 73 Adrian
Thanks, Adrian.
very very good ray
Fantastic story Ray if only you still had that TAPE!
If only! Glad you enjoyed it. Cheers, Ray.
OK, good luck with your quest. Try locating a scrap radio, they have nice capacitors. Cheers, Ray.
Thankyou Ray - I am looking out for an old radio.
Okies, I'll bear you in mind. Cheers, Ray.
Genuinely chilling account
Great story, very well told. I wonder if one of those tapes still exists somewhere?
I've often wondered, too.
Have you still got the recording?
Sadly, no.
That's a shame, it's not that I disbelieve you I would just love to have heard it.
Thanks for replying Ray. I look forward to your future posts. Take care, John
Now that would be awesome Ray, another follow up stories of the unexplained
There is another, radio related, story that I have in mind. I'll give it some thought and maybe make another video...
AN eerie and amusing tale.
When we were teenagers, back in the 70`s, there was an old house back in the woods where we rode our off-road motorcycles, we called the spook house. I think back then, our bunch would have scared off any ghosts.
Nice one! Thanks for your comment. Cheers, Ray.
Great story Ray those lights are now referred to as orbs seem to happen when there is spiritual activity about
Hi John, orbs... That's interesting. Thanks for that. Cheers, Ray.
Love your videos... Brilliant...
WOOOOOooooo, don't look behind you Ray! Sure I see that can of Servisol move. Only kidding, it's nailed to the bench, ain't it? ; )
Blimey! Something just slid across the bench! Haha!
Radio work shop keep telling cool old day stores about radio
Congrads, you picked up your first EVP! Still have the tape? Would love to have a listen
Shoulda told this story in the dark, by nothing but the light of a Hallicrafters SX-99. With a little BFO whine in the background.

my mother also worked out their in cleaning rooms....i washed dishes.....
we were both on the 2nd story, i was helping because a lady called in sick....and sure enough...

we both kinda looked at each other like......uh.....wut....
we checked the locks..... 2nd story was good, first story was good..... no other ways to get up their..
fork peck is home to the ""worlds largest hydraulically earth filled damn".........its a big ill of water/dirt mix that dried out after being pumped miles
it was a depression relief program started in 1936 iicr.......and in 38, when the 4 mile long damn was almost done.....it slide into the lake side

good story I will save this for halloween but I do doubt that you don't still have the recordings though cos you look like a hoarder ? lol
Thanks, Lee. I don't have the recordings, which is a shame. Anyway, more coming soon. Cheers, Ray.
You should have researched it's history. Find out when it was built from historical maps. Local historians. I've always found the librarian in reference are very good pointing you in the right direction.
analiensaturn I did look into it but found nothing of interest.
Oh man that was good
Thanks!
Why does your excellent channel only have 4.3k subscribers when there are kids opening Kinder eggs that have a million plus? It's a funny old World.
I'm about the same age as you Ray, and have been a ham for 40+ years, I too was the 'construction guy' in a gang of MW pirates in the 70's, and yes, our HQ was in the local pub too. Some of your ripping yarns are very close to home, keep up the good work my friend.
Clive Cassidy Hi Clive, thanks for the reply. I suppose Kinder eggs are more interesting, haha! Glad you like the videos. Take care and all the best, Ray
Thanks for the reply Ray, that shows an element of respect that you have for your chanel, I restore 70's radios, the valve stuff is not my era, they scare me, your dulcet tones remind me of me, I am a subscriber and promote your channel on a certain radio website.
Clive Cassidy thanks, Clive. I'm glad you like the videos... and promote them. Wow!
Sounds like someone spent WAY TOO MUCH time at the pub... Sober up dude...LOL
Instabilities in the reality simulation we live in!!
