Hello! I'm 17 and a self taught artist. As you can imagine, I still have so so much room for imrpovement, but I just wanted to say that watching your videos help me out so much. Thank you for posting these videos, and thank you for showing your sketchbooks. I am inspired yet again!
So beautiful - very inspiring!!! Love the loose style - I finally realised that a sketchbook is for looser lines and not art works - these lines of your sketchbook are so vibrant and full of movement - like the characters are on the way somewhere. Well done.
Hi Koosje! I loved seeing your sketches since I am in Thailand now for the month of February. You’ve given me inspiration to try more people sketching as I do tend to sketch scenery more often. What a wonderful country and the people are absolutely lovely. Thanks for sharing your sketches with us, even the ones you aren’t happy with. I have a few of those too!!
Oh, enjoy your time there! I’m sure you’ll get back with pages full of colorful memories. And yes, those sketches we don’t love so much, they belong just as well.
Thank you for the flip through. I just bought rainbow pencils. I love them. It's nice to see what sketched people look like in rainbow pencils. You give me many good, creative ideas. Thank you.
I luv focal points and a fine composition but often end up with 'those' flat detailed filled drawings which I remind me of the complex world, lives, and many many stories around me. Making them and looking at them lift my spirits and let me settle into a peaceful humble mental place where I make decisions amongst the decision of others. Luv'ed the whole tour, thanks Koosje!
This was one of the best, Koosje! I loved your playful experimentation in this small sketchbook and look forwarward to seeing your Etchr book next week. I am an avid follower, but living in Australia makes Patreon and your sketching tours a bit difficult. I have your book and love it. thank you for your generosity and bubbly presentation here. ❤
Thank you so much for following. I know… I wish time difference and traveling distances didn’t exist! I am aware that what I can offer is mostly for (part of) my part of the hemisphere… luckily, Draw Tip Tuesdays and all content on Patreon is not linked to any time zones or places.
I agree. A6 is just too small for me. My favorite size ever is b5 (7×10ish) but for on the go, I prefer a5 (5.5×8.5ish) BUT! B6 is also a great small in between size at 5×7. It's the smallest I can comfortably go. And it's a great alternative for those who feel a6 is just a little too small
Also, canson has cool (inexpensive but great quality) hardbound sketchbooks now callednthe canson graudate sketchbook. Theyre like 12 bucks in the US. I got mine on sale for 7.50 and i LOVE IT. They ecen have grey and what they call natural shade which is what i got. Its almost tan but not quite si you can still use watercolor. The shade is inbetween hahnrmuhle toned tan snd stillman and birn gamma/delta range ❤❤❤❤❤

The interesting this is, that with each page you fill… the sketchbook becomes the artwork
LOve your skechtbook tours

Love.
Common sense but I never thought of doing wax crayon and painting over the top of it. I Will certainly be trying that very soon. Thanks.
Have fun!
You can also use a wax candle if Houwaart it to be colorless by the way.
Thank you for sharing another sketchbook with us 😊
My pleasure 😊

Wonderful! What do you use to attach ephemera? The basic school supplies glue stick I’ve tried isn’t strong enough.
That’s exactly what I use. A Uhu stick

That sounds interesting. Thank you!
Do you carry a stamp to number your pages as you go or do you pre-stamp them?
I have a small set with number stamps that I take with me to add the date to each drawing.
❤
Super work, as usual of course! One question, is every drawing done in situ or do you draw from photos sometimes?
My drawings are all done at the location. I personally don't enjoy drawing from photos.
@KoosjeKoene gosh, that is impressive 👏 😍
how long do you (generally)
give yourself to draw? @@KoosjeKoene
Hi Carey, I generally take anywhere between 5 minutes to 50
Thank you for the response. It is so very helpful.@@KoosjeKoene
