With this set up it sounds more then likley it was Tony giving a nonsesne order likley due to his own bias rather then what was best for the game. Gizmos only 1 small example lol
@@LIlFro- seems crazy to me if you buy a company that he’d even be allowed to do that. Why even buy it or keep funding if they had someone they didn’t want lol
@CrazyNoc the acquisition terms of buyout could have included him staying as head director. It may have been that he'd only sign the business over unless he still remained in charge. (Which is the reason why they wanted to buy it in the first place), and his employment contract may have included a fixed-term clause or a no-cause termination aggreement which would need to be taken to court before they let him go
😂. I’m all for cool ideas but sometimes they could just plain suck Tony. Your still need it to function and still be fun. You actually thought rifts were cool? It was for awhile but shit got old. I would believe this to be true until Tony speaks up. It’s crazy that Sakurai has never done anything bad or greedy. That’s a man who cares for their game.
Rifts might not have been so bad if it weren't for aaaaaall the hidden paywalls and requirements to just take steps forward in the mediocre gamemode. New players just got met with wall after wall after wall. Why tolerate the wall in front of you? At some point you realize there is almost certainly yet another wall ahead of you. And you can still have fun without climbing ANY of those walls, by playing a different game. You'll still have to tolerate some paywalls, but waaay less.
It’s sad to see this game go man I never saw your channel when I was playing beta but I did end up finding it when you would do news vids on the release of the relaunch I hope you can find something as passionate as you were with Multiversus love your vids crazy ❤️
I believe the reddit post over Ajax honestly it just seems like it just told us all what we already seen. I left season 4, we didn't need shields sorry but I don't need a Smash clone and we sure didn't need Superman getting soft nerf with every gameplay change and taking forever to fix character back.
Hear me out I think they should just give the game away to a different game developer like I don't want it to shut down but I feel like the game can be saved by a different Dev team it may be a stretch instead of losing another good game someone else should just buy it out and fix it
You can sell a company with terms. Which given WBs reputation in gaming, I am not surprised if PFG thought of that before selling. (If Tony was arrogant he would see WB as a risk despite being a problem himself).
The funny thing is there is a fighting gane where they sell you power (via gacha too i might add) and i'm not talking old games, the game is Starward which is a Gundam EXVS-like. They are successful because they had little to no competition in the EXVS and it's basically left unchecked in the space other than PS4
I mean this is all hear say but just based on common sense there had to be some bad management going on or else the game would not have failed this bad. Even taking into account WB's meddling
I'm not sure even this supposed developer considered what they were ACTUALLY balancing here, which should have been fun and payment, not people "being patient" or paying. I do not play a game to wait or pay, I play it to have fun. If your focus is on something else, then I will go play something else. Edit: Toward the end it sounds more like they're considering that, but at the beginning they did sound just as scummy as whoever designed the Rifts system for the relaunch. This game had so many "pain points," ESPECIALLY in the Rift system, that it kills their interest. And a good chunk of people can look ahead, see what they're going to get themselves into, and choose to live by not playing that mode. But there might be a good chunk of new players who would try the Rifts mode first, as the sort of single-player / PvE mode. And they might throw the WHOLE game away, because frankly they've seen enough. The perception of the whole game, tainted by that CLEAR scam of a mode.
I genuinely used to believe Tony was the one who was the most passionate about MultiVersus. Being the director, coming up with Reindog, it felt like this was his baby and he wanted this to work so bad. Maybe he did at some point, I don’t know, but it’s a shame he was one of the main factors for why MVS is what it is today. It deserved so much better
There is also another very important side. This game never has local tournemants due to the hassle of unlocking all the characters. For any fighting game, taking care of the competitive scene is very important for longevity
From what I've heard, the reason why Warner Bros. can't just fire Tony and get someone else to helm the ship was because of a deal they made when he sold PFG to them. Essentially telling them they can't do just that, and he has final say on everything. Yeah, it's definitely on WB for not reading the finer print, but it's especially devious on Tony's part to enact such a clause on his contract.
If it was any other game or dev, you wouldn't call it "devious". It makes perfect sense for the head dev - especially the "creator" of the project - to put in a failsafe to ensure that, even while selling the company, you will still be allowed to go through your vision of the product without the "big company" interfering. It just so happens that, this time, said head dev was the greatest evil (assuming this Reddit post is right and not a total fabrication) instead of the big corpo. But usually that's not the case.
The Tony being talked about should be fired and he's a disgrace to greater Tony's out there. Marvel's Tony Stark, Tony the Tiger and most definitely the greatest Tony of all time Tony Hawk.
@ oh sure there's also Tony Danza and Tony Stewart to be considered but I rank Tony Hawk higher than them because skateboarding is inherently a more dangerous career than stock car racing and acting due to the much higher risk of breaking your neck if you're not careful. and Tony Hawk has The 900 as part of his skateboard skill invention list.
I knew that they were trying to cater to the hardcore player. They should have listened to the casual scrubs and not cared about the competitive nature. Many players just dropped the game after shields were dropped. Fun > Balance every time. Smash purists were never going to drop Smash in favor of this game.
Dude, I don’t know what to feel. All of this stuff about Tony seems SO right… but look at what Ajax tweeted an hour ago. Ajax is a very reliable source that we all love, but he also has an obligation to defend everyone at PFG, so I’m conflicted. Justice for MVS.
It was too easy, make the game $30 with the option to buy resorcues for skins and perks but all fighters are unlockable without anything crazy. F2p players are always going to feel entitled to getting everything free as backwards as that is so you dont give them the option, you make the game cheap enough to get into which funds the game and leaves the door open for cosmetic micro transactions, this way that entitlement is actually earned thru the base purchase and you can from there. Solves the biggest balance issue the game has which is the f2p vs the paying lol otherwise you keep it free but use ads in the home and loading screens to supliment the f2p, the paying players dont have ads simple enough. I hate ads but in this case it would have made sense, then those who think the more they play the more they earn free are actually making the game money by viewing the ads as they play making that statment true, otherwise their time spent means nothing
With the AJAX bit imma be real he never brought anything to the game, even on stream he only played smash and Marvel Rivals, he was nothing more but a dude just trying to seem big for the game. Honestly just get a new company and make the game a normal fighter like 2XKO with looks and gameplay and just go off that.
I was always wondering why Multiversus, presentation wise, looked like absolute shit…as if it were made by college students. The UI was abysmal AF. Where did the budget for this 300 million dollar plus game go? This game was not handled in the care of reputable experts! There wasn’t even an Asian scene for this game!
Tony screws WB, WB screws Tony, like it or not... you have no say in "I want game to be good"...with this toxic positivity, you people pardoned them DCUO, Gotham Knights and SSKTJL, and now they think that they can sell any cashgrab slope to you.
I was so hype when Multiversus first hit the scene. Then when it was taken down, and came back, after playing for 30 minutes I realized "oh God, this game will be dead within a year."
If your selling something your selling that something. If your selling gameplay its not really a free to play game. Its a premium game trying to trick you. Also most premium fighting games ive played, don't sell skins for characters you have to buy.
This game could've been amazing and tony just ruined everything, like wtf? Their main concern is people spending money rather than playing their unbalanced game
I think the reason they didn’t get rid of Tony is just of how scummy that would look on their behalf. Still having the final say on everything is just stupid. This isn’t just your game but an investment with a company to make a profit. Not that hard to understand.
What you expect them to say? 😂😂 Excuses only work if the person being told agrees, relates, or understands. Also it closing no going back. So its pointless for any they failed
Im still waiting for them to actually go thru a livestream with all the hate they will get , good luck selling that last battlepass 😂😂😂, i have played since beta so yeah im pissed this game is going but i already slowed down the grind when it just became a money sink .
Nobody cares about cosmetics as much as they do new characters, I would of bought the skins though if they were like 10 dollars instead of 20 though so there is that too. don't get me started on the battle pass that doesn't give you xp after you finish your daily quest.
Yeah they needed a system were your not forced to spend money on the game and give u tasks like Fortnite save the world were you get v bucks for buying the founders pack they should make something we’re your getting gelemium for free
Eh making a balance between ftp and people wiith skins is normal its just scammy when its pay to win Like making people want to pay for skins cause they see others in the community with them i understand you literally cant have a free to play game without any funding aka skins just dont make new characters op but you can only pay dont lock so many characters away and your forced to pay release more skins and the game would be in a better spot

And Tony was still willing to have 'MultiVersus' be nominated again in 2024. Meanwhile; 'Street Fighter 6' had a larger playerbase, and it didn't even receive an honorable mention.
Plus in that said TGA fighting games nomination, Multiversus actually robbed KoF 15's place out of the slot (KoF 15 is so robbed by that damn bad-roster-pick game 🤦)
Im glad you made this video because someone definitely had too. Atleast your bringing us closure as to what happend. 100% there's more info going to come out
Skipping through the article and not posting a link to read it ourselves is wild my dude
Cant believe they have so many finished characters that we will never see in game.
Tony is a traitor and a thief at the end of the day he sold out and his ego ran the game into the ground
as a Rumbleverse fan you guys mocked us. now you have a spot next to us in the graveyard 🫨😌
at least we both outlived NASB.
_did_ Rumbleverse outlive NASB?
How do u have a budget of 100 million dollars and still Fuck up !!! hell i bet i could of made a killer ! indy game I cant even make games but if i had dat budget !!!! I find people that could help teach me lol
The crazy part is remembering PFG *was* an indie dev team given that amount of money and they still screwed it all up.
I Can get a group of students, pay for their college and still have 99million left for a better game
@@hands-ongaming7180 same xD
@@unofficialmeme5972 Treuuuuu XD
@@hands-ongaming7180 I pay for there kids kids colleges just help me make a fucken Game dat wont flop ! Haha if i had a 100 FUCKEN MILLION dollars It like that song IF i had a million dollars i buy you a house if i had a million dollars i buy you a car ! lol
I knew it! Tony had the issue with Gizmo lol the string of unnessary nerfs he got after being pretty perfectly balanced end of season 1 made zero sense especially considering how strong others around him were. With this set up it sounds more then likley it was Tony giving a nonsesne order likley due to his own bias rather then what was best for the game. Gizmos only 1 small example lol
5:54 theres contract limitations that prevent this
Yeah from what I heard he refused to step down or be bought out
@@LIlFro- seems crazy to me if you buy a company that he’d even be allowed to do that. Why even buy it or keep funding if they had someone they didn’t want lol
@CrazyNoc the acquisition terms of buyout could have included him staying as head director. It may have been that he'd only sign the business over unless he still remained in charge. (Which is the reason why they wanted to buy it in the first place), and his employment contract may have included a fixed-term clause or a no-cause termination aggreement which would need to be taken to court before they let him go
This is almost as bad as Tony Khan with AEW!
And my boss who’s a name is Tony who just fired me so yes the TONYS are evil
@@broccoliboy9673lmao
@ well stupid decisions be giving me a headache. If the game was payed they would still find a way to monetize the crap out of it.
You’re acting like surprise it WB game
They overly listened to the community and you cant source resdit for information you just made your self unreliable lol
This is a big f u to the community they are lying when they said they cared about us. Such a big let down.
Having a limited time battle pass for a fighting game is awful, A normal battle pass is ok, but limited time burns tones of content.
I'm just saying if they paid for Goku, my whole country (Mexico) would be playing Multiversus daily
They literally had access to Ben 10, a LATAM icon, and they didn't use him lmao.
@RioluJH Goku tho
@intelligiblemadman 20 million tho 😭
Worth every penny
@intelligiblemadman that's like the budget of Astro Bot...
Multiversus had so much potential. We still need Daffy Duck. #SaveMultiVersus
🎵Tony the Clown🎵
I prefer Art though. 👋🤡
I have an idea, instead of ragemode, there is a perk where it gives Iron Giants laser vision . But that won’t happen
The Tony being talked about should be fired and he's a disgrace to greater Tony's out there. Marvel's Tony Stark, Tony the Tiger and most definitely the greatest Tony of all time Tony Hawk.
Lmao
@ oh sure there's also Tony Danza and Tony Stewart to be considered but I rank Tony Hawk higher than them because skateboarding is inherently a more dangerous career than stock car racing and acting due to the much higher risk of breaking your neck if you're not careful. and Tony Hawk has The 900 as part of his skateboard skill invention list.
My Xbox was offline so I have a beta version of multiversus offline so I can play the good version
Lucky you
If here egging out the ceo, normally its because they don't want to pay unemployment, and it has a massive kock on on the moral, for staff bellow him.
so after everything we went through.... all of that development time got wasted on rifts!
I knew that they were trying to cater to the hardcore player. They should have listened to the casual scrubs and not cared about the competitive nature. Many players just dropped the game after shields were dropped. Fun > Balance every time. Smash purists were never going to drop Smash in favor of this game.
Don't believe everything you hear but only half of what you read.
Multiversus should have been a paid platform fighter starting at $40.
Can you put the link to the Reddit post in your description or a pinned comment, please?
Dude, I don’t know what to feel. All of this stuff about Tony seems SO right… but look at what Ajax tweeted an hour ago.
Ajax is a very reliable source that we all love, but he also has an obligation to defend everyone at PFG, so I’m conflicted.
Justice for MVS.
It come downs to have to make money to make sure server and staff get paid but there will be bad choices.
Title should have been "The multiversus news keeps getting better"
Tony screws WB, WB screws Tony, like it or not... you have no say in "I want game to be good"...with this toxic positivity, you people pardoned them DCUO, Gotham Knights and SSKTJL, and now they think that they can sell any cashgrab slope to you.
I wonder how we’ll be able to unlock characters and skins in/after the season 5 update? Management was a disaster and WB is incompetent.
We won't. That's how.
I was so hype when Multiversus first hit the scene. Then when it was taken down, and came back, after playing for 30 minutes I realized "oh God, this game will be dead within a year."
For me the game just felt too floaty/slippery
This is pretty common in the gaming space ngl
So yeah, they made everything wrong on purpose so they could just run away with the money
If there was so much at risk, why would they try out adding the worst characters there could be while excluding the best ones
What you expect them to say? 😂😂
Excuses only work if the person being told agrees, relates, or understands.
Also it closing no going back. So its pointless for any they failed
WB probably wasnt helpful but that said this game always felt mismanaged and just such poor gameplay
"gamble, gamble, gamble, DIiieeee...."
Im still waiting for them to actually go thru a livestream with all the hate they will get , good luck selling that last battlepass 😂😂😂, i have played since beta so yeah im pissed this game is going but i already slowed down the grind when it just became a money sink .
They can't sell anything since 2 days ago :V
Nobody cares about cosmetics as much as they do new characters, I would of bought the skins though if they were like 10 dollars instead of 20 though so there is that too. don't get me started on the battle pass that doesn't give you xp after you finish your daily quest.
Can somebody help me with the multiverse platinum trophy I just need the party match
Yeah they needed a system were your not forced to spend money on the game and give u tasks like Fortnite save the world were you get v bucks for buying the founders pack they should make something we’re your getting gelemium for free
Clickbait.
Tony's post is such a nothingburger.
Ajax was just making excuses, too.
so glad i never spent money on it 😂
its always the top guys fkn games up
welp this is confirmed legit after AJAX called him out on Twitter
I dunno, to me it's all WB and FPG fault, never again with them, nothing
Damn it Tony! 😅
rip warner bros
Not over?? Yes its over!!!!!
Multiversus situation got worse
Give Nintendo the ip atp lmao
Eh making a balance between ftp and people wiith skins is normal its just scammy when its pay to win
Like making people want to pay for skins cause they see others in the community with them i understand you literally cant have a free to play game without any funding aka skins just dont make new characters op but you can only pay dont lock so many characters away and your forced to pay release more skins and the game would be in a better spot
people should just play aether rivals 2, its better. yes its not free, go buy it haha.
Ye, harder but way tighter gameplay. Visually less appealing though.
That's not an ai post, that's been me, that's what u get when u scam me
they should put the lead dev of rivals of aether on this shit or they devs of slap city

1:13 keep complaining crybaby. You’re part of reason this game is dead😂💀
Brawlhalla is F2P...
Also a snorefest.
