    Awesome tut, Dan. 🙂 I've just begun my journey into Cakewalk and music production and I must say that your tutes are simple, easy-to-follow and your voice and demeanor add a calming effect that makes it really easy to absorb those things you are saying. Some of the other folks I've watched are not as easy to listen to. And, you seem way more prepared/polished than those other folks.

    Thanks Dan, I was looking for a long time how to organize my group chanel just besides the group instruments like a bus chanel in Cakewalk, but not a bus in the right side of the console. Patch Points was the solution. Exelent tutorial! and other Cakewalks videos. Bless You

    Tip. You can just run your mouse all the way down the tracks and they will highlight all at once.
    But patch point is clunky.
    Since we are trying to do things in a timely manner especially the ones aspiring to do this for a living, I have a super fast way.
    BTW we would be in a middle of a mix so I would be at the channel where the fader is and you can right click there as well if patch point was practical.
    So here it is.
    On the channel with the fader highlight the tracks you want. In this case the three kicks.
    Hold down ctrl and click on the output to bring up the pull down menu. Select new aux track. Bam done! Way faster.

    Hi. Don't need to select shift key, just drag the mouse down and it will highlight all of them.
    Same with mutes and solos. Left Click the first solo or mute and keep the left mouse button down then continue to scroll and it will select all mutes or solos as you go by them.
    This cakewalk is made for a touch screen and this is one of the things that doesn't work unless you use a mouse. Nice that they have incorporated use for a touch screen.

    Great Tutorial! Kindly advise how to separate a stereo track into two mono tracks. I recorded a guitar and vocal track stereo in cakewalk.

    What do you think about the "Track Manager" window? Is it useful for workflow anyhow?

    Great tutorial. Just started with cakewalk and wondered how to do this stuff. Do you have any tutorials on slicing audio? I was trying to slice a drum break and rearrange, like what you can do in ableton, do you know if that is possible?

    • @AudioSorcerer
      @AudioSorcerer  3 роки тому +1

      Thanks so much. Cakewalk calls the feature "split". If right click on a clip where you want to cut it, you should see an option for split. I can't remember the keyboard shortcut off the top of my head. Hope this helps!

    • @jamesdoyle4383
      @jamesdoyle4383 3 роки тому

      @@AudioSorcerer thanks for the reply most appreciated. I have used split but that's not what I was quite after. There is an option when on an audio track called loop construction. When you click on that a window at bottom of the UI appears and you can then use a slice function. Not sure if you can then take those individual slices (which are sliced at the transients) and rearrange into a different loop. I tried looking at documentation but couldn't see anything.

    Great tutorial man! I learnt the "group" thing i didn't yet know! I'm a beginner and I'm struggling with tracks management. I saw you have tenths of tracks with fx on almost each. Im my project when I put something like 30 tracks (most of them VSTs) with fx i can almost play them without cakewalk skipping and glitchinng every few seconds. I tried to group some if the fx into aux tracks and buses, and freezing tracks (that is very annoying when in the process of "experimenting") with not very much results. To avoid that i have to switch my ASIO buffer size to at least 512KB that is unusable to record any live audio. Is it something "normal"? Any good advice to manage all theat tracks with fluency? Im running a win11 with 40GB ram, AMD Ryzen 5 2600 6 cores, SSD and a Behringer UMC1820 audio interface. Maybe any HW improvement? Thx so much if you could help!

    How do you do something like in ableton where on the left you have a bunch of sounds and midi files and such that you can drag and drop?

    Hi. New to cakewalk. How can see my fader vertically? And is it possible t create a track with stereo knob so I can pan 1 on the left and the other is on the right? How can I automate the volume of the vca fader? Thank you

    • @AudioSorcerer
      @AudioSorcerer  2 роки тому +1

      All faders are vertical in the mix window. Stereo tracks only give you one pan knob which is different than DAWs like Pro Tools. If you keep it in the center assume the left channel is all the way to the left and vice versa. Here is a video on automation I did. ua-cam.com/video/h6_M_LLZF4c/v-deo.html

    Is there a way to create subfolders? Let's say I have a folder named Drums and in that I want a folder which is named Snares?

    Instead of using patch points, could you use utilize sends to serve the same function?

    • @AudioSorcerer
      @AudioSorcerer  3 роки тому

      Yes, but patch points work better for organization because you can put them wherever. If you use sends with buses then the buses are always located on the right side of the mixed window.
