Great sounding build. super cool mods, the perfect speaker choice, loved what i saw under the hood. Great job on the Tolex. You know your stuff. Pedals? You should not need any with that build. Thanks for that post, Fender could learn a thing or two from you, You rock!!
Looks like a nice build - one thing you could do to improve further is orient the outer foil of the sozos for lower noise. It won't be night and day, but should provide some improvement. Rob Robinette's diagram shows the proper location of the stripe with a dot. Good work!
@@argbluesman they aren’t polarized so they function just the same, but the way they’re constructed, the side connected to the outer foil can provide additional shielding if it’s oriented to the lower impedance side of the connection. Again it’s not a huge difference, but it’s good practice. The side with the line is the outer foil side. If you Google “outer foil orientation”, Aiken amps has a good explanation
Buen trabajo. Muy limpias las soldaduras! ¿Qué modelo de estaño has utilizado? Yo acabo de terminar de construirme un plexi de 20W y me ha quedado bastante bien también. Pero tus soldaduras lucen perfectas! Y el sonido excelente. Te felicito
Excellent build and really nice tones you’re getting out of it. Any chance you could do a short video showing the differences heard on the NFB switch/mod? My Mojotone P-Reverb kit should be coming in about a month and that’s one of the mods I’m wondering whether I should do. I haven’t found any example recordings of it anywhere which makes me think that it’s not very useful/popular. Thank you for all the great videos!
incredible tone!! very good playing as usual…and really congrats for this piece of an amp!! Would you mind to write me a bit more about the mods? I have found something on the net and it seems the negative feedback is the mod most affecting the tone together with the bright switch…would you be available to share the components and wirings you have used? I am going to start building a DR and I had almost decided for a TAD kit…but maybe I will go for mojotone now that I have seen your results!!! Do you think we can exchange some e-mail about that? thanks in advance! Alessandro
The mojotone kit comes with orange drop caps. I only replaced them with the blue molded but the orange drops are just as good. I did my research from Rob Robinette’s website. It’s an amazing source for these kinds of mods. Take a look at his website. But of course you can email me if you have questions, no problem!
Good decision. Much respect on this. I’m probably going to be spending the next year trying to do a similar amp myself with those mods. I say A+ job and the playing and video recording are really good too. I love Fender but they can F off charging almost $3k for a 64 HW reissue.
@@TimMilliken if you have some experience, try to build it yourself. You will spend much less, learn a lot, have a lot of fun, and the final result will be better than the 64 reissue in my opinion. You’ll be using better parts and also choose the speaker of your liking.
Thinking about letting it go. But scared to regret it haha. To fund something else. Also no idea how much I could ask for it. I put countless hours and research and dedication into it. But I’m no Howard dumble 😂

@@darrylgross8768 hey man. Did you watch the video? Plenty of pictures of “under the hood”. And the gear is described in the description. Thanks! 🙏
@@argbluesman Yes I corrected my comment, also saw you did use some pedals, but Im sure it still sounds killer without pedals too. Thanks
Sounds absolutely fantastic!!
Got all extras. Super sick amp. Wow!
Thanks bro!
Awesome playing! Could you share the backing track, please? Congrats, man!
Hi! Sorry man this was a long time ago and I can't find it anymore... maybe do a search on youtube, shuffle in A, and something similar might pop up.

I thought the orientation of the tone caps did not matter?

In fact, it'd be really cool to hear a demo of each of the mods that affect the tone/sound of the amp.
Sorry for the delay! Yes It would have been great but I was focusing on other contents, and I sold the amp now. I was not using it.
@@argbluesman no worries. I built mine with some of the same mods and now know what they do. :)

You have a schematic or layout? Interested in what was added and changed to the original circuit. My next build I want to do something like this
I don’t, sorry. I implemented the mods after researching. They are all very simple. Check out Rob Robbinette’s website. There are a lot there.
Cuanto vale este ampli con las modificaciones?
No sabría decirte porque lo construí yo mismo, de un kit Mojotone.
Do you want to sell that to me?
Thought about it many times. But it is sooo good man. I can’t sell it. For now. I put a lot of love and a lot of hours into it.
