Thai people aren't the only society that has a close nit family. My parents use to live 3 generations in one house. In the west this was common. In the west parents don't tell their kids that they " MUST MOVE OUT OF THE HOUSE " at a certain age. Though in the west young people want to move out of their parents house by the age of 19 to 20, because they want freedom and independence . This idea Thai people have that western parents push them out of the house is incorrect.
