Thanks for the info, especially the warning about the white part. Super useful. I paid attention to mine and realized it was damaged. Took your advice and ordered a brand-new wand. Thanks for the demonstration, I would have been able to replace the button without a doubt should my white piece not be broken.

If the white part is busted, then you need to purchase a new wand sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

@@kimberly.thomason Found a used one at a vacuum repair store for 40$, which is better than 120$ for new one. I'll keep the old wand for parts if needed in the future. Thank you for a quick reply.

Does the pole come apart in two pieces? I’m having issues with hair wrapping around the wire inside and clogging.

Unfortunately it doesn't. We have seen this many times as well. Not really a solution. The new wands are designed differently so that wire doesn't become exposed. You might want to purchase a new wand www.vacmd.com/products/miele-set-220-electric-wand

Wand won’t adjust even with new button. It’s stick all the way open.

I usually pry it with a small flat head screw driver…but be careful and don’t break the white piece underneath.
