If they had based the Falcon off the Atari TT030 (68030 @32MHz on a 32-bit bus at 16MHz) and fixed the bus speed instead of simplifying the system board down to 16-bit bus, it would have been an absolute monster in 1990. later 040 and 060 boards would have also been absolute monsters without having to apply the brakes on a bus ill equipped for that data throughput.
@@TPau65 And that wouldn't have been hard. By buying the company that developed the Jag they had an upfront cost that would have exceeded in house development of the Falcon. They basically committed the same mistake Commodore made with the Amiga. Bought a company they couldn't really afford and then struggled.
@@mikejohnson699 It's subjective. But my opinion is that the only tune that I don't think the Amiga could do a with out some preprocessing is the one on the last 3D part which is a nice tune but nothing amazing. Other than that there is nothing here I haven't heard in game or demo on the Amiga and if you want a game on the Amiga that has a similar sound check out Stardust or Super Stardust. Can the Falcon sound better than the Amiga, Yes it can! but I don't think this is that, and it certainly doesn't "smoke the Amiga"

Great to see a game(s) of a sort in the works for the Falcon. Hope they can finish them!
Quite unlikely, as this demo is from 1993/94!
@@TPau65 Ah, that's unfortunate, thought it was new. Impressive regardless
It looks really good.
One of my favourites. I spoke to the developers back then. Unfortunately du to organisation issues of the team this game was never finsihed. 👀
Yeah, I thought so. Thanks for the information!
What a machine ❤

Couldn't agree more! They should have left out the Jaguar and concentrate on some more Falcon models with better architecture.

Never finished... 😞
Machine was finished too late, then finished off too early.
It's nice to hear an ATARI sounding almost as good as an Amiga. This looks and sounds great.
Are you serious? This smokes the Amiga
