Thank you for this video! I was raking my brain trying to remember the name of Legendary Wings which I played as a kid when we went to a local island for school holidays. An interesting mix of vertical shoot em up and then side scrolling platform shooting.

Great compilation of shmups, some I've had the pleasure of playing at the arcade.
Once you play cave shumups you just can’t go back to other shumups without noticing flaws. Cave had perfect balance of fairness and difficulty with clear back grounds and bullets that obviously identifiable without looking directly. Many shumups were just created to suck our quarters
Action Fighter is a Vertical Shoot-Em-Up.
These Arcade game names are sometimes clickbaits lol you expect it to be a beat-em-up or fighting and it's a shooter.

Hi everyone. I’m looking for a game that had similar characteristics like life force/salamander. I played the game around 1988-1992. It was defintely not before or after that time frame. The only thing I can recall is when I got to the final boss (at least I think it was the final boss) tentacles would come out and you had to shoot the boss before the tentacles filled the screen up and killed you. The tentacle were similar to the boss that had tentacles in salamander except these tentacles grew longer. I could never get enough shots in to kill the boss. Does anyone know the game I’m referring to?
Thank you for not using savestates and showing yourself dying. You are not like some other retrogaming youtube channels where people just use savestates to make "perfect gameplay" videos where they do impossible dodges while not knowing how to play these games properly.

Some people don’t like to see people using save states on classic games since they aren’t playing the games legitimately.
I’ve personally stopped using save states years ago cause I wanted to beat them how they were intended back then but I am in support of anyone using them if they have trouble playing those games. Both sides have valid takes in my opinion.
