A Career in Maritime Hospitality - Interislander (JTJS42009)

You'll find a career in the hospitality industry can really take you places, including to sea, as Netty finds out when she heads for the Cook Strait aboard the Interislander ferry Kaitaki. With 60 crew on board and several hundred passengers, there is plenty to do. As a passenger and vehicle ferry, before the ship can leave port, the vehicles must be correctly parked and checked.
With the vehicles secured, it's time for Netty to try her hand at making one very important flat white -- the captain's! Delivering the coffee, Netty has the chance of a lifetime to steer the 28,000 horsepower ferry.
After taking on a range of roles aboard the ship, Netty has put into practice some of her hospitality and communication skills and learnt about the unique culture aboard an Interislander ferry.
