Awesome study. I'm born again, adopted by God. Finally somebody teaching the truth about being born again. If a person doesn't have a connection or relationship with the father hes not adopted or born again
I professed Christ for 4 years before I was born again. Either that, or I was a totally immature christian for 4 years, deadened by my sin, conquered and lacking victory in Christ until one day The Lord delivered me. I know that one year ago I was one way, and then one day I realized, I was no longer, and I heard The Lord speak to me, from which point on everything changed.
At that time I was listening to hard preaching on Lordship, was reading the bible for the first time (mostly acts) and had prayed that the lord would smash three specific things in my life which were amounting to idolatry in my life. Those three things are all that I can point to that were new things in my life leading up to this moment when everything changed. If it wasn't being born again, but only deliverance, or grace, well, it certainly met the criteria of being born again perfectly, and I had never experienced anything like it before. When I was baptized at my profession of faith, I didn't feel any different. I didn't feel like a new creation. I was repenting of sins, and I definitely was making changes in my life. I prayed. I went to church. I listened to sermons, and would occasionally read parts of the bible. I was doing christian things, but I just felt like I lacked faith. It was very discouraging, but the whole time I never thought I wasn't saved. I just thought that some Christians didn't get to be happy and live victorious lives. I figured I was one of those people who was just going to always struggle and be miserable trying to repent and finding no strength, but finding only continual weakness and discouragement. Honestly it felt like I was a follower of John the Baptist and then all of the sudden a Christian came up to me and asked me if I had received the holy spirit. That's what that day was like. For some reason, I wasn't saved before then. I don't know why. I don't know if I just didn't understand, or maybe I wasn't willing to truly follow him before then. I don't know if it was just God's sovereign appointed time. There is still a small part of me that wonders if I was actually saved before then, but I doubt it, because I have assurance of my salvation after that moment. I have a faith that I did not have before then. I say all of this to warn you. You may not know Christ. Make sure that you do. TALK to someone who has a real testimony of being born again that is undeniable and a sound doctrine. Find that Paul Washer who won't leave until you know The Lord.

@@-ThePREACHER- Of course I agree with you. But we are here to teach those who have accepted the false gospel of OSAS. We must "lead" them to truth --- not slam them over the head with it. The next question or step would be to ask --- just what are those "commandments" of Jesus Christ? When I came to the realization that OSAS was a false gospel, the first question I had was --- what does He require? Then my journey began. It's not complicated. All one has to do is read the NT as if Jesus and His Aposltes are speaking to me personally. "Marriage" was a question I then had. What is "marriage" and how does one achieve it? I don't believe there is ONE book out there today that teaches men and women "HOW" to marry from a Scriptural perspective. Not one.

The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak. There is a differentiation between the spirit and the body. God tells us not to love this world for a reason.

How can one believe they’re saved and on their way to heaven yet live a habitual life of sin? My sister, reared in church who knows the Gospel, chooses to live a life of homosexuality. She truly believes she’s saved and God understands. Please pray for her (Karen).
Might just be mental assent to historical information or facts about Christ. She might be a professor/confessor but not a possessor of the Spirit, as KJV says, "void of the Spirit." If we say we believe but walk in sin we are liars and do not know the truth. I have a sister in the same sin, sadly some of my siblings who were also raised with the knowledge of God approve of her "lifestyle." A separation will take place when God separates the wheat and tares but those who are of God have eyes to see the distinctions between those who are submitted to the Lord Jesus Christ and obedient to His Word and those who spout empty words and arrogantly expect us to approve. Those who approve are partakers in their deeds. I listen to these message from the 1 John study and need to read these verses over and over to get the truth down into my heart so I can stand steadfast and confident in the Lord during these evil days. May you be encouraged and have hope because God rewards those who suffer for His sake, those who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness. God's will bless you though all curse you and accuse you of the worst motives and attack your character. Remember there are many who are suffering in the same way because as believers we are in the world but not of the world. Jesus told His disciples, in this world you will have tribulation but be of good cheer I have overcome the world. John 16:33.
John 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. If we see sin we are seeing the person as body that has in the past committed sin. But we are spirit, created in the likeness of God. Condemning others as sinful just seems to make you better than they are, but we cannot change God's creation, not even with sacrifice, but we think we can. Matthew 12:7 If you had known what these words mean, 'I desire mercy, not sacrifice,' you would not have condemned the innocent.
Only God knows if she is truly saved. Who are we to judge. I have relatives who profess to be Christians and fully on the anti- LGBT bandwagon and all embrace everything that the former POTUS says and does, hating those he hates, etc….I wonder about their salvation

I am confident of my salvation and rebirth in the spirit, and as a former Sea Captain, I have given up control of the helm of my live and handed to the Holy Spirit to guide guide and direct my life. I turned away from the world and now humbly submit to Jesus Christ solely as my Lord and savior. Unfortunately with my relatives whom I love, seemed to have deeply submitted themselves to the world of partisan politics, not Christ. Hence my worry for them and you perhaps.

It always amazes me how the Reformed can read John 3, where Nicodemus asks "When you say be born again, do you mean a water baptism like John is doing, or a physical birth?" and Jesus says "No you must be born of water and the spirit, so definitely a water baptism like John is doing." and literally invert Jesus meaning even after he specifically clarified the exact question you asked... You also could read Mark 16:16 where Jesus says "He who believes and is baptized with ne saved, who who doesn't believe will be damned." I feel like everytime Jesus says "Yes" the reformed go "Yes as in no?" and Jesus says "No..." and then the reformed go, Got it "No."
"Water" in John 3:6 is referring to the embryonic fluid which surrounds the baby in the mothers womb. Jesus is simply making the distinction that physical birth is not the same as spirit birth.

You're right in that John was refuting Gnosticism which is a close counterfeit of the truth, but 1 John 3:9 teaches the believer "cannot sin", not even once! He uses the truth to refute the Gnostic teachings which are very close to the truth. Please let me explain. Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. 1 John 3:9 Can we all agree that the believer is created in the image of God? We are body, soul, and spirit (1 Thess. 5:23-24). Which part of the believer is "born of God"? It is our spirit that is born of God according to Jesus in John 3:6. Our spirit is made "one" with Christ (John 14:20, 17:21-23, 1 Cor. 6:17). It is our spirit, and only our spirit which the bible considers saved and without sin, not the flesh. And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin 1 John 3:5 John is speaking spiritual truth. The believer is made spiritually one with Christ and *in Him* is no sin, so whosoever is born of God (the spirit of the believer) cannot sin because he has been made one with Christ and *in Him* is no sin! The spirit of the believer is "hid with Christ in God" (Col. 3:3). If you don't recognize this distinction made in scripture concerning the flesh and the spirit *in Christ* you cannot possibly understand what John is teaching in the passage. Paul taught of the spiritual circumcision "made without hands" in Colossians 2. All this relates to what Jesus was teaching Nicodemus (and us) in John 3:6, and John 6:63. In understanding truths of scripture we have to distinguish between that which is physical, and that which is spiritual in this dispensation of grace. The believer is not saved physically at this time, but will be "changed" when Christ returns (1 Cor. 15:50-52). Only the spirit is currently "translated into the kingdom of His dear Son", not the physical being which "profitteth nothing" (Col. 1:13, John 6:63). This is why I use the KJB and no other. It was this very passage of scripture from 1 John 3 which showed me the importance of using the KJB. It correctly uses the Greek word "poieo" which means not even a single act of sin can be performed by that which is "born of God". Colossians 2 10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: 11 In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in *putting off the body of the sins of the flesh* by the circumcision of Christ: John 3:6 - That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. John 6:63 - It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. 1 Cor 15 50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. 51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

You can go to God and ask him for mercy , if he would send the Holy Spirit to convict you of your true condition, which is a vile guilty sinner who has rebelled against The Creator in thought and word and deed. The Holy Spirit begins to draw the sinner ( no one can come to the Father except the Holy Spirit draws him ) to the recognition of the true condition of self. The Holy Spirit starts to draw us before we are ever born again , in brokeness and agony of soul - crushing us under the truth of our own vileness. No one meets Jesus Christ standing on their feet. Being Born again is the radical miraculous work of God in the soul of the sinner - from death to life , from the dungeon to the penthouse in an instant that God pours His Spirit into us.❤
Where should the People be taken if they deserve to be saved. We are not the ones who can do that but THE LORD as it is written in Acts 2 47 [47] Praising GOD, and having favor with all the people. And the LORD added to the Church daily such as should be saved. But the problem is almost all preachers are false. 2 Corinthians 2:17 [17]For we are not as many, which corrupt THE WORD OF GOD: but as of sincerity, but as OF GOD, in the SIGHT of GOD speak we in CHRIST. What is the Church? According to 1 Timothy 3 15 [15] But if i tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of GOD, which is the church of THE LIVING GOD, the pillar and ground of the truth. It is very clear that The House of GOD Is the Church of THE LIVING GOD. before GOD worked GREAT SIGNS, MIRACLES, AND MIGHTY WORKS The Christians of the first century surrendered everything to the HOUSE OF GOD OR TO GOD HIMSELF. So they were called the House of Prayers. so if we do not accept the fact that Acts 2 42 to 47; 4 32 to 37 , are part of GOD'S WILL that all Christians should do, these things Will happen to in your churches, 2 Thessalonians 2: 9-10 [9] he, whose coming is according to the work of satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, [10] And with all deceit of unrighteousness to them that perish; for they received not the love of the Truth, that they might be saved. 2 Thessalonians 2: 11-12 [11] And for this cause GOD shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: [12] That they all might be damned who believed not the TRUTH, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. WE MUST BE BORN AGAIN You are born again when you are like Jesus. He is perfect, righteous and the light of the world. Please study : 1 John 3, Romans 6:6, Romans 8, Gal 5, Eph 4 , Eph 5 and Titus 2:14! I’ll give you my testimony: 16 May 2011 , I asked Jesus in my heart. I was ill at the time. Overstrained or burne out and very restless. I then felt a vibration going through my body from my head to my toes. Immediately afterwards I became very calm. The next morning I was again very restless. This lasted about a week. I then had a dream that I lived in a prison. And a voice then said to me that the devil had to get out of me. I then prayed for the devil to leave me. Immediately afterwards I felt that same vibration from head to toe again and at the end of it a voice said: you are now free! and now start reading the bible. Suddenly I felt a lot of peace and love. I was changed from a sinful, selfish person to a born again Christian with a lot of love for the other. And experienced a lot of rest. When Jesus has made you free, you are free from sin and free from death. Afterwards my illness was the best thing that happened to me.
This man is a false teacher. A believer CAN and DOES live in willful sin. And we all practice sin. Anyone who says differently is lying. The problem with these so called “preachers” is that most of them aren’t even saved and therefore they don’t have any clue how to interpret scripture. This passage of scripture is referring to the two natures of the believer. The new nature that has the Holy Spirit CANNOT SIN, because it is BORN OF GOD. The old nature, that is the flesh, ALWAYS SINS, because it is not of God but the devil.
The greatest heresy of all time to invade Christianity was the trinity of three persons. Say what you want , believe what you want but this triune God is NOT the biblical God at all.God always been ONE and never three ! Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one. Do you HEAR GOD ? Do not bear false witness. When you started talking about Gnostics, you should’ve immediately stopped because you did not know what you were talking about. Nothing you said is accurate and is a misconception like this is not a hill that I wish to die on, but it still bothers me when people bear false witness towards a sect of Christianitylike these people were murdered by so-called Christians so I don’t really appreciate this mentality still existing to this day

@@-ThePREACHER- Of course I agree with you. But we are here to teach those who have accepted the false gospel of OSAS. We must "lead" them to truth --- not slam them over the head with it. The next question or step would be to ask --- just what are those "commandments" of Jesus Christ? When I came to the realization that OSAS was a false gospel, the first question I had was --- what does He require? Then my journey began. It's not complicated. All one has to do is read the NT as if Jesus and His Aposltes are speaking to me personally. "Marriage" was a question I then had. What is "marriage" and how does one achieve it? I don't believe there is ONE book out there today that teaches men and women "HOW" to marry from a Scriptural perspective. Not one.

The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak. There is a differentiation between the spirit and the body. God tells us not to love this world for a reason.

How can one believe they’re saved and on their way to heaven yet live a habitual life of sin? My sister, reared in church who knows the Gospel, chooses to live a life of homosexuality. She truly believes she’s saved and God understands. Please pray for her (Karen).
Might just be mental assent to historical information or facts about Christ. She might be a professor/confessor but not a possessor of the Spirit, as KJV says, "void of the Spirit." If we say we believe but walk in sin we are liars and do not know the truth.
I have a sister in the same sin, sadly some of my siblings who were also raised with the knowledge of God approve of her "lifestyle." A separation will take place when God separates the wheat and tares but those who are of God have eyes to see the distinctions between those who are submitted to the Lord Jesus Christ and obedient to His Word and those who spout empty words and arrogantly expect us to approve. Those who approve are partakers in their deeds.
I listen to these message from the 1 John study and need to read these verses over and over to get the truth down into my heart so I can stand steadfast and confident in the Lord during these evil days. May you be encouraged and have hope because God rewards those who suffer for His sake, those who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness. God's will bless you though all curse you and accuse you of the worst motives and attack your character. Remember there are many who are suffering in the same way because as believers we are in the world but not of the world. Jesus told His disciples, in this world you will have tribulation but be of good cheer I have overcome the world. John 16:33.

That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
If we see sin we are seeing the person as body that has in the past committed sin. But we are spirit, created in the likeness of God. Condemning others as sinful just seems to make you better than they are, but we cannot change God's creation, not even with sacrifice, but we think we can.

Only God knows if she is truly saved. Who are we to judge. I have relatives who profess to be Christians and fully on the anti- LGBT bandwagon and all embrace everything that the former POTUS says and does, hating those he hates, etc….I wonder about their salvation

I am confident of my salvation and rebirth in the spirit, and as a former Sea Captain, I have given up control of the helm of my live and handed to the Holy Spirit to guide guide and direct my life. I turned away from the world and now humbly submit to Jesus Christ solely as my Lord and savior. Unfortunately with my relatives whom I love, seemed to have deeply submitted themselves to the world of partisan politics, not Christ. Hence my worry for them and you perhaps.

Spirit of God almighty and Jesus are not the same they do different things in your life.
It always amazes me how the Reformed can read John 3, where Nicodemus asks "When you say be born again, do you mean a water baptism like John is doing, or a physical birth?" and Jesus says "No you must be born of water and the spirit, so definitely a water baptism like John is doing." and literally invert Jesus meaning even after he specifically clarified the exact question you asked... You also could read Mark 16:16 where Jesus says "He who believes and is baptized with ne saved, who who doesn't believe will be damned."
I feel like everytime Jesus says "Yes" the reformed go "Yes as in no?" and Jesus says "No..." and then the reformed go, Got it "No."
"Water" in John 3:6 is referring to the embryonic fluid which surrounds the baby in the mothers womb. Jesus is simply making the distinction that physical birth is not the same as spirit birth.

You're right in that John was refuting Gnosticism which is a close counterfeit of the truth, but 1 John 3:9 teaches the believer "cannot sin", not even once! He uses the truth to refute the Gnostic teachings which are very close to the truth. Please let me explain.

Can we all agree that the believer is created in the image of God? We are body, soul, and spirit (1 Thess. 5:23-24). Which part of the believer is "born of God"? It is our spirit that is born of God according to Jesus in John 3:6. Our spirit is made "one" with Christ (John 14:20, 17:21-23, 1 Cor. 6:17). It is our spirit, and only our spirit which the bible considers saved and without sin, not the flesh.
And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin 1 John 3:5
John is speaking spiritual truth. The believer is made spiritually one with Christ and *in Him* is no sin, so whosoever is born of God (the spirit of the believer) cannot sin because he has been made one with Christ and *in Him* is no sin! The spirit of the believer is "hid with Christ in God" (Col. 3:3). If you don't recognize this distinction made in scripture concerning the flesh and the spirit *in Christ* you cannot possibly understand what John is teaching in the passage. Paul taught of the spiritual circumcision "made without hands" in Colossians 2. All this relates to what Jesus was teaching Nicodemus (and us) in John 3:6, and John 6:63.
In understanding truths of scripture we have to distinguish between that which is physical, and that which is spiritual in this dispensation of grace. The believer is not saved physically at this time, but will be "changed" when Christ returns (1 Cor. 15:50-52). Only the spirit is currently "translated into the kingdom of His dear Son", not the physical being which "profitteth nothing" (Col. 1:13, John 6:63).
This is why I use the KJB and no other. It was this very passage of scripture from 1 John 3 which showed me the importance of using the KJB. It correctly uses the Greek word "poieo" which means not even a single act of sin can be performed by that which is "born of God".

You can go to God and ask him for mercy , if he would send the Holy Spirit to convict you of your true condition, which is a vile guilty sinner who has rebelled against The Creator in thought and word and deed.
The Holy Spirit begins to draw the sinner ( no one can come to the Father except the Holy Spirit draws him ) to the recognition of the true condition of self. The Holy Spirit starts to draw us before we are ever born again , in brokeness and agony of soul - crushing us under the truth of our own vileness.

16 May 2011 , I asked Jesus in my heart.
I was ill at the time.
Overstrained or burne out and very restless.
I then felt a vibration going through my body from my head to my toes. Immediately afterwards I became very calm.
The next morning I was again very restless.
This lasted about a week.
I then had a dream that I lived in a prison.
And a voice then said to me that the devil had to get out of me.
I then prayed for the devil to leave me.
Immediately afterwards I felt that same vibration from head to toe again and at the end of it a voice said: you are now free! and now start reading the bible.
Suddenly I felt a lot of peace and love.
I was changed from a sinful, selfish person to a born again Christian with a lot of love for the other. And experienced a lot of rest.
When Jesus has made you free, you are free from sin and free from death.
Afterwards my illness was the best thing that happened to me.

This man is a false teacher. A believer CAN and DOES live in willful sin. And we all practice sin. Anyone who says differently is lying. The problem with these so called “preachers” is that most of them aren’t even saved and therefore they don’t have any clue how to interpret scripture. This passage of scripture is referring to the two natures of the believer. The new nature that has the Holy Spirit CANNOT SIN, because it is BORN OF GOD. The old nature, that is the flesh, ALWAYS SINS, because it is not of God but the devil.
