All these have wired capability with the barracuda x also having wireless. What’s your thoughts? Which one of these is best?
I prefer the Cloud II for the combination of decent headphone audio and the best comfort. There's not an objective best one of all of them - it's more of a preference. Tho imo the mics of all 4 are pretty bad if that's really a priority. Only the Corsair HS80 has a passable mic.

If possible, try some out at a Best Buy or other store. My preferences for comfort (HyperX Cloud II, Razer Barracuda Pro, Audeze Maxwell) might not line up with yours. So if all of those you listed are uncomfortable, it's definitely gonna be best to try them on first.

Is their anything I can do? Its weird. I know -db reduces, but +db too? Something seems off about that lol. Great vid on the novas!
I have the Arctis 9, but that doesn't happen to mine. It's the opposite for me - at max volume and boosting EQ levels it starts to get so loud it will distort pretty easily. This is using SteelSeries Engine.

@@BadIntentStreamTechReviews well I'll be using it on pc and my phone since I don't have any console. But I'll also take a look at your top 5 recommendation Thank you for responding bro
I bought the Arctis Nova 1 and it's a shit headset while many, many people claim it's a good budget headset. First off, the 3 positives: I've not bought a lot of headsets but it's the most comfortable budget headset (under 50 euros) to wear that I've bought. Both the earcups and the headband are very comfortable and I can wear them for hours. Secondly, the mic passively cancels out background noise decently. I've got a mobile airco unit 3 meter away and only a slight buzz is noticeable. 3: The 3,5 mm cable makes it multi-platform versatile. Now, on with the negatives and there's 3 massive ones. 1: The mic is trash. It sounds similar to the Arctis Nova 7 in this video. It feels like I'm speaking into a tin can when I listen to video's I made through the PS5. For comparison, I've bought both 2 other budget headsets; a Turtle Beach Recon 500 (wired) and a JBL Quantum 350 (wireless dongle) and they sound better than the Arctis Nova 1, especially the JBL. The Nova 1 mic is very sensitive to which direction the sound comes from but even when I'm practically deepthroating the mic, it sounds a tin can. 2: I play couch co-op on PS5 with friends who borrow my JBL Quantum 350 and there's an echo through the Arctis Nova 1 in co-op videos, despite me lowering the sound of my mic in order to try and prevent it, from recording it's own sound. The JBL headset is wireless and even having two of them connected to the PS5 at the same time, doesn't cause an echo when used during coach co-op but the Arctis Nova itself does echo. The JBL doesn't seep through my voice when they talk but my voice has an echo when I talk during videos with the Nova 1. I've lowered the mic output, the headset's sound itself. Muting the PS5 controller mic mutes my voice entirely and so does the mute button on the headset itself. Both mute buttons do the same thing so it's not like having both on means that itself causes the echo. The Turtle Beach Recon 500 wired has the same problem when used simultaneously with the JBL. It's like using 2 types of connection doesn't work since Sony, Microsoft asshats want people to each buy a console instead to make that extra dough. 3: The mic cuts out half a second of noise every so often when used. This means that my sentences get cut off or words in the middle are missing from videos regularly. 4: Due to me lowering the headset's sound, in order to try and stop the headset from picking up it's own noise, if that even is the problem for the echo; the headset, when turning the wheel to full volume, is set to normal sound levels. That's very soft but if I increase the sound, the echoing gets louder. 5: The wire from the headset brushes my shoulder, chest and arm and you can hear that in videos, even when I have it draped over my shoulder/back to try and prevent the brushing noise. What is it with budget, wired headsets and their issues? Anyone got a proper solution for this? I'm seriously thinking about not buying a wired, budget headset for a few years now to see if the manufacturers come up with something better.
Screen sharing with the Duowan App from Ios device to PC, game sound is coming low on Hyperx cloud 3. Is there any way to eliminate this issue, or can you please suggest best wired gaming headset in which i can hear footsteps clear and high volume notes. Please reply, I will consider it to buy a best gaming headphone under 100$.
Personally, I avoid the Nova 3 and all SteelSeries headsets for music or horror games. The bass is anemic and it really kills a lot of the ambience. For less than $100 right now, the Cloud II or Cloud Alpha are better choices. But on Black Friday you can probably find the Astro A40 for under $100 as well.
On the Nova 7s, can the bass get adjusted in the EQ to sound 'kinda' comparable to the Astro A40 TRs? Or is it just a lost cause with that? Found a deal on it new for $120 & wouldn't mind a wireless alternative to my Astro's.
You can boost the bass a little in the EQ but the nova 7’s are more of a neutral flat sound profile. That wouldn’t be an issue but it lacks mids… mids give that nice punchy clear bass and bring the low end bass together. So basically the mid range frequencies aren’t good so they essentially end up competing with other frequencies and get in the the way of the high end frequencies, which are actually decent. That’s why most people “scoop the mids” on the Nova 7’s (scooping mids looks like the smiley profile on EQ settings) unless they’re playing a FPS and they drop the bass and boost the high frequencies and you can really hear footsteps better. However there are much better headsets for the price that let you hear footsteps and not sacrifice your bass and mids on EQ profile
Hello, i wanted to ask what would you'd reccomend, razer kraken or cloud core? (Cloud core is 23$ more expensive), it's really squeezing my budget and i was wondering on your opinion of if its worth the extra money.
@@BadIntentStreamTechReviews yeah sorry i just watch it to end now And what about razer black sharkv2 vs arctis 5 and nova 3 in sound ? Sorry for my lot qus
I just got the Astro A30, it's pretty good and launched for $230. Video soon. The Penrose is over that limit (launched for $300), but so far it's the only wireless headset that really impressed me.
Neither actually gets my recommendation, but the Nova Pro sounds better and the padding is more comfortable. And yes, the padding can be replaced on the Nova 7 earcups.
Great review as always !! Just want to know ur thought, in term of pure sound quality, do u prefer Arctis Nova pro or Razer barracuda pro ? I don’t mind messing with EQ and stuff .
@@BadIntentStreamTechReviews alright I have tried the nova 1s and barracuda pro for the fit only, haven't tried the nova 7, just wonder is the nova 1 way smaller than the nova 3 and 7? Cuz the nova 1 fits me just right but wish it is slightly larger.
Nova 3 and Nova 7 yes, but I can't remember if they are enabled by default or if you have to enable them in SteelSeries Engine first and then save your settings.
Is it supposed to give a tingling/vibrating feeling when used at max volume? I experience that in COD, feels like haptic feedback in your ears. Not sure if my model is just an odd one out. Anyone experienced this?
It's just the drivers producing the lowest frequencies. The Nova lineup is very bass-light compared to most headsets, so it would be much stronger in other devices. If you still find it too much, you can lower the dB of anything under around 400 Hz using EQ.
@@BadIntentStreamTechReviews thanks for the prompt reply. Guess it takes getting used to then. First try it was very weird how my earlobes felt like they were literally moving/vibrating.
Does anyone else have the problem that when you use the volume wheel on the lowest it doesn't mute the audio you can still hear a tiny bit of sound on the nova 7
Hiss or if i am not mistaken… black noise If it’s not headset’s fault, can happen by… plugging headset in front of case instead of back on motherboard, badly plugged headset or malfunction
@@BadIntentStreamTechReviews Hello...Do you try Razer BlackShark V2? ... what will be better choice...Nova 3 or V2? Thank You, and you done a great job here ! 😉💪
Hey man a quick response would be awesome! My question is I got the Razer BlackShark v2 pro wireless for my ps5 and have played around constantly with the eq, and can't get it to sound as clear as my Hyperx cloud stinger. Footsteps are waaay better on the hyperx. I'm gonna return the BlackSharks but really wanna go wireless but have the same sound as the wired Cloud stingers or better. What should I go with or is all wireless headsets just inferior to wired. Looking at the wired cloud alpha and wireless cloud alpha, the cloud 2 wireless or cloud 2 wired. Any input would be awesome!
A wired version of a headset is pretty much always going to beat out its wireless counterpart. Wireless devices can beat out wired ones if the drivers are significantly better of course. As for the Clouds, if you want footsteps to stand out the most, I'd get the Cloud II wired.
@@BadIntentStreamTechReviews I just picked up the Cloud Alpha wired after returning the blacksharks. Can't wait to try them out. Gotta be hands down better than my cloud stingers, which I had no complaints with.
@@BadIntentStreamTechReviews I appreciate the quick response. Are there any upcoming wireless headsets that you are excited for? I've kinda came to the conclusion if you want a wireless headset to sound like a wired you gotta spend $300+ like on the Arctis Nova Pros but I'm a console person and I've read Sonar doesn't work on console so no point in spending that much if I can't use those features on console.
@@chasen432 Sonar doesn't work on console, but you can still use the equalizer inside the base station that comes with it. Cloud 2. If you want bass, SteelSeries isn't the way to go.
Earned a new sub, hella underated.
Hey pal thanks for your great reviwe
In sound qulity which one is better
Arctis 5 or artise 3 nova?
No matter EQ use or not
I compared them to each other in the headphone audio quality section.
@@BadIntentStreamTechReviews yeah sorry i just watch it to end now
And what about razer black sharkv2 vs arctis 5 and nova 3 in sound ?
Sorry for my lot qus
What do you recommend for wireless gaming headphones for less then 250
I just got the Astro A30, it's pretty good and launched for $230. Video soon.
The Penrose is over that limit (launched for $300), but so far it's the only wireless headset that really impressed me.
is the cable braided?
i have sound card on my pc.....you think if i buy nova 1 the headset sounds way better?
Not necessarily
2:14 there’s none since the usb c to 3.5mm being used instead for aux use
That's literally what I said.
What's your opinion on Astro A10 gen 2 vs SteelSeries Nova 1?
I don't have the A10 yet, but I definitely don't like the Nova 1.
que recomiendas epos h6 pro o nova 7x ??
Bro which should I get nova pro wireless or the nova 7p ? And also can the earcups be replaced from the the nova wireless
Neither actually gets my recommendation, but the Nova Pro sounds better and the padding is more comfortable.
And yes, the padding can be replaced on the Nova 7 earcups.
@@BadIntentStreamTechReviews which headset would you recommend for like fps, and like elden ring type of games
@@s_s_j21-psn53 Audeze Penrose for FPS. Drop + EPOS PC38X for single player.
Nova 7 vs Astro ??
Great review as always !! Just want to know ur thought, in term of pure sound quality, do u prefer Arctis Nova pro or Razer barracuda pro ? I don’t mind messing with EQ and stuff .
Nova Pro, but I wouldn't use either myself.
@@BadIntentStreamTechReviews if budget is not a constraint, Audeze Penrose it’s ?
This worth it for upgrad Arctis 7+ TO Nova 7 ?
I said in the video, but not in my opinion.
Can you compare cloud revólver S with cloud alpha and others?
Considering it, but no guarantee.
hi will you recommend the nova 7 or the barracuda pro at the same price? (180usd)
Neither, but if I had to pick one for myself it would be the Barracuda Pro because it's way more comfortable. But neither are close to my top 5.
Do these have a side tone/mic monitoring feature built in?
Nova 3 and Nova 7 yes, but I can't remember if they are enabled by default or if you have to enable them in SteelSeries Engine first and then save your settings.
the nova1 or the arctis 3 cuz im having trouble seeing much of a difference
Did you watch the video?
@@BadIntentStreamTechReviews commented before watching
How worth it if i buy Nova 3 use with sound card Creative sound blasterx gc 7 ?
I don't have the GC 7 so I can't really speak on it.
Hiss or if i am not mistaken… black noise
If it’s not headset’s fault, can happen by… plugging headset in front of case instead of back on motherboard, badly plugged headset or malfunction
@@RM50507 na not a his i can hear the sounds of the game or movie just more quiet
@@jarneclaes1107 it’s an problem on the knob then
@LuckyS7 well i sended the headset back for a new one but it also had the issue
@@jarneclaes1107 so it’s an production deffect
soo cloud alpha is better than nova 1?
Better than all 3 imo
Arctis Nova 3 or Arctis 7p+?
Do you need wireless? If not, Nova 3. If so, honestly, Nova 7P. I think 7P+ has been replaced.
@@BadIntentStreamTechReviews Hello...Do you try Razer BlackShark V2? ... what will be better choice...Nova 3 or V2? Thank You, and you done a great job here ! 😉💪
The artist 9 is actually better Because it doesn't echo Artist Nova 7 echoes Very badly
شريت نوفا 7 إن شاء الله ماندم وتطلع رهيبه

None of the upcoming wireless gaming headsets seem that interesting, but I've been looking into getting the Sony XM4 and XM5 for a while now. Also since I like Skullcandy, I'll try out their new headset but I don't actually think it will be that good.
Earcup Nova 3 bisa replacement ga ya?
