The magic is fuckin real in Tokyo Disney. That preshow was so cool! That’s imagineering without restraints, making simple requirements into a wonderfully creative presentation.
I really enjoy the new version but wow, Tokyo really got the ultimate version of Soarin' Around The World. Really hope Disney finally releases the music sometime this year.
I went on this the other day! We honestly never even planned on trying to go on it, since fast passes would be out quick and we didn’t want to waste any time waiting for one ride, but in the end, we actually had some time left over after having ridden all the rides we wanted to go on, and just waited 2 hours because we though, why not? It was WORTH THE WAIT. Since it’s such a new ride, it was the first time for pretty much everyone and their reactions were amazing! Not to mention that most of the people there probably haven’t been on the one in California either, so it’s their first time on anything like this! In the pre show area, you could tell that everyone was amazed, and at the end of the ride, everyone clapped and cheered! It was one of the most amazing Disney ride experiences I’ve ever had.
@@blueshtarshThe one in California is the original. Therefore, the other ones are exactly like the OG. Some obviously have better queues because obviously they're newer. Soarin' Over California opened in 2002.
This was probably the best ride I’ve ever been on. I waited three hours to get on it and it worth every second of it. I almost started crying how beautiful it was. Everyone clapped when it finished. It was awesome!
ngl my chest got really heavy in the beginning and end of the ride bc of how they cheered and applauded for take off as well as for landing and that’s the tradition for Soarin’ (at least in DCA idk ab EPCOT) and to have that spirit for the ride kept alive even across seas is so sentimental in a way 😭 i miss the ride so much i cant wait to go back and experience the new Soarin’ 💗💗
I melted into my chair when the original ride score started playing in the first preshow. This ride shares the same romantic view of aeronautics as a good number of films directed by Hayao Miyazaki and I wouldn't want it any other way. Props to the design team that's been working on this one for years, we need something with this level of detail and love in the US, not just cheap fixes for aging attractions that rely entirely on "you saw this movie, right?" as their marketing strategy
Nick Hines from what I understand Disney imagineering still designs and assists with all the attractions in Tokyo. OLC mainly just funds them and because of this they usually have much larger budgets to work with than they do in their other parks. Bigger budget = better quality attractions. It amazes me that no matter what the attraction is Tokyo Disneyland/DisneySea always seems to have the best version.
This version of Soaring blows all others out of the water. It’s so amazingly beautiful and highly theming. Makes the other soarin’ rides look really bad and cheap.
Finally went on this ride today after not being able to cuz of the long queue, I was blown away omg, I’ve only ever been to the Japanese parks so I’m not sure how it is everywhere else, but holy moly never been on anything like it, went we first lifted off I couldn’t believe it… and all the different smells to go with the scenes 😭 bought the DPA and although expensive , I think it was worth it.
Another masterpiece by the Tokyo imagine era that i wish we had in the U.S. especially the various rooms you passed by in the queue. My favorite when I was there was the talking lady portrait! Thanks for posting!
Wow the way they Inc. the same thing on to the store and ride is truly incredible, such a creative and well thought idea. And soaring is as always spectacular. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Wish the Disney imagineers in the US would be able to put as much thought into things here, as they are over there in Japan.
The queue is PHENOMENAL! 😍 All the exciting references to flying, and the history of flying seen in many mediums and variations (from inventions to animals)….it’s just so magical :) It’s all about theming when it comes to trying to make a ride great.
When I worked there, there was an attraction called Visionarium, where Buzz lightyears astroblast is now, it was basically a stand up attraction like a huge round hall with a full 360 cinema so you could turn and look anywhere, while a robot flew around the world and you saw it through his eyes, only problem was people kept falling over coz it was disorientating to be stood up and having to around to see stuff 😂
It is the only ride i almost regret getting the fastpass because I could not see the beautiful interior in the standby line properly. This ride was the best disney experience in my life!
Yea but this ride was made for a Japanese audience. It would be most fantastical to see and explore other lands rather than ur own. Wouldn't be as fun if all we saw at the US version of the ride was just a bunch of scenes of American landscapes.

Something I noticed is that the person who plays camellia looks like she doesn’t actually speak Japanese. If you know Japanese and look closely at her mouth while she’s talking, you’ll notice that she’s slightly off at some parts in terms of the shape her mouth should be making. Which means she had to memorize all of her lines solely based on sounds! Props to her, that must’ve been difficult.

I definitely agree I called it the alternate version of soaron around the 🌍.
And also this one has more of a plot than ‘you’re flying’
