You don't see too many cab overs in this country anymore because the length of the truck does not count as part of the overall length of a rig. Only the trailer's length has a limit. (Some states may vary.) In Europe, the truck counts in the overall length so they use cab overs so they can use as much length in the trailer. Also, the roads tend to be narrower and less straight in Europe so a shorter wheelbase is advantageous.

American trucks dont have cab over anymore. The short answer is legislation got lax on length so moving the engine infront gives better comfort overall and a bit better control.
PTO stands for power take off its used for accessories like hydro systems or a fire truck to pump water for example.
Diff locks are usually for low speeds by the way most newer trucks will turn off the diff locks automatically after you reach a certain speed, we usually only use diff locks when driving on sites with low traction or when you don’t want to spin a one wheel and get stuck
There are American cab over trucks being manufactured in the current day. The best examples being the Kenworth K200 and K220 (sold in Australia and New Zealand), international 9870 (sold in New Zealand) and the freight liner argosy (sold in USA until 2006, sold in Australia, New Zealand and South Africa until end of production in 2020)

I recommend you drive with overdrive on for the transfer case. The reason why, it saves fuel and it's the thing truckers use the most when just cruising. Direct or low is pretty much for rough terrain like rocks, mud, etc
Use it a a range splitter I have it mapped to a button seems pretty realistic with heavy weight

No, its you shift from 1L to 1H, then shift to 2L, 2H, 3L,3H etc. range splitter, hence why the transmission is 10 speed “dual shift”, its a 5 speed transmission with ranges built in.
Still sorta wrong, you only do that when hauling HEAVY loads. Otherwise, you'd shift like normal using whatever range you need in situation@@_Vark_

Why did I read bud as a Canadian but the rest as an American?
If you play the career mode in beam NG you are able to save up your money and buy a trailer and truck from a new dealer ship near the drag strip. You are also able to haul stuff from one place to another using different vehicles. Each has their own storage capacity. If you ever try it you should make a video on it for fun. Edit… the logistics and distribution center is where it is. Like I said… you go there in career mode to buy semis and trailers.
This was great ,I hope they will add a heavy wrecker with hooks. the very nice revamp to the flat bed or a flat bed or maybe even a wrecker for the d series one day too even modern trucks would he cool.They did a good job like they always do to the updates, nice vid comodo
PTO stands for Power TakeOff. Usually attatched to the driveline of the truck equipped with it. Primary used for hydraulic systems instead of electric pumps.
Yep, otherwise the new end dump trailer would be functionally useless without it as you can’t actually dump it 😂😂😂
PTO stands for Power Take Off. its for the cement mixer or for anything hydraulic on the truck. it runs a hydraulic pump and goes according to engine speed.

Cab-over's always remind me of the tow truck chase scene from Terminator 2, im not sure why. Also feels good to be back on the channel, this video got me interested!
The "jumpy boy" is a Terminator 2 reference configuration.

American cabovers stopped being made after the length restrictions on trucks where change and more drivers opted for long nose trucks do to the better comfort but in more rural areas like the lower half of Indiana it is common to see cabovers every now and then because they make really good farm trucks for things like grain and a very easy to maneuver in tighter spaces. My dad actually owns two international cabovers from the early and mid 80s

Honestly, the physics engine is so capable I'd really like to see planes and helicopters. Imagine dogfighting and having to worry about overstress on your wings or going into a tailspin from overspeed. Cargo flights to remote islands. Police helicopter for outlaw runs. So much potential. *To clarify I mean with this level of detail in the aircrafts
yeah, would like to see that in the future so you wouldn't need to get mods for planes
Beamng should stay a car only game so it can purely focus on one thing imo because otherwise quality of both will decline

nothing like being in the cab of a real truck while you're starting loaded on a hill.
the torque from the engine actually tilts the cab as you get started, it's honestly incredible and somewhat scary.

Would SOOOO love if the dev did update the Garage To Garage missions too with more stops that actually are garages, and that you can either drive the car itself as before OR drive a truck with a truck bed and had to transport it, and would also like with different difficultly that you no longer can fjnish with a destroyed car!

There are 3 semi-modern cabover trucks. One still in production is Kenworths K220. Peterbilt had a very lightly produced 372 which is from the 90s. The last one is the Freightliner Argosy

Yes Kenworth do make a cabover today but you won't see one in North America. The Kenworth k220 is only made and sold in Australia. Kenworth in Australia is a completely different market of models. since 1971 when Kenworth was founder in Australia.

PTO is power take off for use with things that require hydrolics and a higher engine speed to make them work. EG: wreckers, garbage trucks, etc...

Camodo, something that would really be cool is an early 90's midsize luxury SUV. Kinda like the Jeep Grand Cherokee or something. Or maybe an American Sports car from the early 2000's like the C5 Corvette or something. I dunno... Maybe some normal ahh Sedan like my Gam Gam's Camry.

A next vehicle I’d like to see would have to be a hybrid between the Gavril D-series and the SP Dunekicker, combining the street legality of the former with the styling and off road capabilities of the latter, much like IRL trucks like the Ford F-150 Raptor. Sure, we have a D-series pre-runner configuration, but those are not street legal

Hey Camodo about your question about cabover freightliner was the last the commercialised one in America but in Australia Kenworth still make the k200 to this day, also if its like in real life when you dump with the trailer if you give a bit of throttle its should dump a bit faster
Camodo, the pto stands for power take off the pto is a splined shaft that spins, which that turns the engines rowtaeshinoll moshen to work to do that you have to attach a shaft on the emplumint to the pto and through a gear box on the emplumint or in this case a hydraulic motor on the truck as I said before you can turn the rowtaeshinoll moshen into work which is so cool when you brack it down

We need some ww2 looking vehicles like the Willys Jeep, and many more used in the US Army. Also I definitely would like to see lore friendly equivalents to the Dodge Polara, Chevrolet Caprice, Ford Crown Victoria, Chevrolet Impala, and several variants of firetrucks.
the grand marshal is already the beam equivalent of a crown vic

4:40 yes, but they are no longer sold in the USA. we used to have overall lenght restrictions like europe and asia have today but sense those went away the long standard style truck just was an more comfortable and easier to live with option for overland trucking.

For your question about the cab over semis. Most of the American truck producers make cab overs but they are sold outside of the US. The new truck design is like how new vehicles are getting bigger, the semi trucks are starting big.

Pretty much all European trucks are cabover. It's a significantly better layout.

beam would be a sick trucksim. they just gotta make an addon for the carreer that is instead of using a car for the vehicle deliveries you could use a truck. i love the t series remaster
i feel that they should add a option where you can travel maps with a spot where you can leave the map. you than go on a highway (the length can be customizable) and than reach another map!
To My Knowledge im sure the freightliner argosy is probably the most common truck in terms of cabovers i see them on the highway sometimes

Camodo: Yes, there are 2024 model cab-overs, though they are mostly side load and front load refuse collections trucks (garbage trucks). They use them here in Salt Lake City, the Midwest and central states.
The T600 variant is based on the cab over that was in Terminator 2 Judgement Day
I forgot what PTO stands for, but switches the power from the engine to a trailer or other attachments that you need power for. They're also the cause of many farming accidents. You can Google pictures if you have to.

The Devs definitely workin on an EU style Truck. Cause the T Series' file name is no longer "Truck", it's "us_semi" now. So there probably will be a "eu_semi" soon.
