Hey Trev, I stumbled on your channel a few weeks ago and I have to say I am truly inspired. I've been a musician for years but started feeling stuck creatively about a year and a half ago. Hadn't touched my guitars, my keyboard, any DAWs, or any recording equipment until I decided to do a career change and go to Sound Engineering school. After about a month or so being in school is when I stumbled upon your channel, and I have to say you're killing it! Your vids are a great example of using the skill sets of sound engineering, mixing, and just being a creative musician/songwriter. I can't wait to see what 2025 has to offer for you, and the community you're building up for other musicians out there. Keep it up.

Hey Trev, you’ve quickly become one of my favorite production creators on the internet because you are singularly focused on the creation process and worry little about the tools/gear etc - I’m a similar age and my musical trajectory echoes what a lot of commenters say regarding falling out of love with the creation process after decades of music experience. I just had my first child this year and we’ve made it a habit to watch your videos in the morning over a cup of coffee - it’s been a great routine to expose him to more music and to get my mind into a creative zone again - I can feel myself coming out of a several-year-long slump - so thanks for that! I’d love to hear more about your approach to arrangement and sound selection in future videos, these are the two areas that usually slow me down the most, resulting in the analysis paralysis problem.

hey man:) i want to thank you for all the work you do for this channel, I'm 19 years old now and have been playing guitar for about 14 years now. i know that being a musician/composer is what i want to do with my life, music is one of the few thing i can connect with and I've started to write my own songs again this year. you and your channel have been a blessing, i personally learn from imitation so when i looked up "how to produce a full song" and everyone was just going through the steps which lead me nowhere and then to find you, showing people your own creative process and actually making the songs instead of explaining how i should do it, it was perfect. i still haven't released a song yet but that will be coming early 2025. so thank you. thank you for inspiring people to make and express music. thank you putting in the time for people like me who just want to create but have no one to teach them. musician to musician, thank you. - side note* it would really help me out if you could put in more stuff about making the drums (i suck at building the drums in songs, it has been the downfall of about 3 projects now XD)

Do whatever you want to do, man. Some things will stick, others won't. But I guarantee that if you keep putting out videos documenting your process of writing and recording songs, you'll continue to grow. In 1 year, 2 years, etc. from now, other people who dig this stuff will discover your channel and have a massive playlist to binge. It's rare that I'm "in" on a UA-cam channel from it's early beginnings, but when I find one I like, I go back and watch all the old stuff, too. I currently have 18 subscribers and have released three songs in the past two weeks. They are by no means perfect but I have already learned so much and it’s been so fulfilling to put my little songs into the world. I’ve been inspired to start making videos like yours showing the process of writing and producing songs (Hope thats cool with you 😅) It’s so awesome to see fellow creatives going through similar yet different processes to achieve songs.
