Good stuff, I was planning on doing this next on my GX- you just took all the research I needed to do off my plate. Thanks for posting the links in the description, I’ll probably go with the OEM. Great video!
Thanks Zach! I appreciate you sharing your thoughts and the positive feedback! I think the OEM route is definitely the way to go and makes the fitment perfect.
Sooooo... I was super excited to do this mod. Right up to the point when I got to the rear quarter glass. While pulling the trim piece up I must have exerted a little more pressure on the hinge point of the glass than it could take. The glass completely shattered. I've ordered a used glass replacement and I'll be installing new glass next weekend. yay! That little circle on the trim houses a plastic push tab. Extremely difficult to remove while the window is mounted. My advice is to take the time to remove the plastic trim inside and loosen the glass so you can get to the trim piece easily. Learn from my mistake!
Ben, Oh No!! I'm sorry to hear this happened to you. Yeah, in hindsight it would have been nice to remove the interior trim and loosen the bolt so that tab doesnt break.
Okay so I haven’t done the back windows because of the hassle of pulling out the inside pillars but guess I done have an excuse now! Great stuff as always!
Looks great, man! It's funny how the timing of your last 5-7 videos have coincided with things that I've been wanting to do to mine(2007). I just started having an issue with the thin rubber piece that seals under those trim pieces. It's starting to come untucked. I temporarily put a tiny bead of silicone in the slot & tucked them back in. Did the job & got me through the winter but now seems like a good time to order some new ones. Thanks for the video! Looks easy enough. Can you also post a link on the tires & rims? Exactly what I'm looking for! Shawn
Hey swebstar1! Thanks for reaching out and also for continuing to provide feedback in the comment sections (Sorry for my delayed response). Timing is everything and I'm glad this video was able to help you out in your installs. That silicone sounds like a great trick to hold you over. It's an easy install and makes a noticeable difference in the exterior. I posted some link below for the tires and wheels. I'm struggling to find the MR149's these days and only find them as individual or pair of wheels. I guess my video has been reducing the supply of these wheels lol. My main issue is that it's a little lagging and the graphical interface is somewhat dated looking. Other than that, I still prefer it over the stock head unit. I'll be making a future video with a further review of it.
Mine are coming up too! I'm an older guy and like the chrome. LOL! Do they have that as well? That would also mean I would not have to rig the far back windows to match up.
I definitely recommend going with OEM trim. These are starting to warp with heat. Not so bad that I'm going to replace immediately, but want to do sometime this year.
So did the back door trim already have the holes drilled for the clip to insert? I decided to order a set of these that was hoping to have good luck with but the rear doors are poorly cut and don't line up very well. I don't understand how some people get them and they line up, while others they don't! Just my luck. Constantly buying and returning :) kinda sucks because the fronts fit pretty well
Raphael, Yes this had the holes drilled already. I'm about to do an install and review of some window trim from Garage Alpha to see how their trim looks. It seems the quality is better on their trim.
Hey Michael, Good catch...I didnt add the links for those and I apologize. Here is the link to the trim pieces I bought. www.ebay.com/itm/254925256150?fits=Model%3AGX470%7CMake%3ALexus&epid=5023499525&hash=item3b5abab5d6:g:BWMAAOSwQolbHBwy
I did an updated version of this video with OEM trim and I highly recommend spending the extra money on genuine toyota/lexus trim. This Amazon/eBay trim is made with poor quality rubber and warped on me within a year. I document the OEM trim in Vlog 66 so I recommend watching that video to get the best quality trim which will last.
Could you confirm the seller for the replacement you ordered? Amazon has two sellers, one is an LTD company with about 82 ratings, the other is GZYF with about 2,446 ratings. Random question, but I just don't want to order from the seller who sent you the wrong piece lol. Thanks
The door handles were that color when I bought the vehicle. I wasnt aware there were GX's that didnt have paint matched handles. I agree with you, eliminate all chrome! lol
It’s weird how happy these videos make me. Thanks!
I’m happy hearing these videos make you happy! Comments like this make it worth all the effort! 🙏🏻

Did the exact same thing. But, all mixed now. And the black moulding looks tons better.
*fixed
Thanks for the video! I was in the middle of tearing everything apart then saw this and it made the replacement super easy!
Thanks for reaching out Cory! Glad this video made the install easier for you!
THE CLICKS! So satisfying. Much better solution than plasti dip or vinyl. Will definitely be doing this.
Ordered the oem set for Prado. Thanks for the link!
Yes, this was much better than plastidip and will last longer.
Okay so I haven’t done the back windows because of the hassle of pulling out the inside pillars but guess I done have an excuse now! Great stuff as always!
Thanks Kaisar!! Yes, this definitely gives you an excuse! Hope all is well with you!
What a difference 💯 looks awesome!
Great content as always! looks great!
Thanks Gary!! :)

Cool! Good to wipe down the track and clean it FIRST to remove any contaminants that could potentially corrode the new rubber faster than it should.
Thanks C.A. Nix! It's an easy thing to overlook, but while you're in there it's good to do.
Do you still recommend the full oem set that you have the link to in the description? Awesome video btw
Wanted to see if you had any issues with the phoneix radio, really want to update mine, thanks in advance and keep up the good work!!!

I can totally understand that and many people do like the chrome. Good thing is you can buy OEM chrome trim on eBay.
Great video! Thanks!
Thank you! 🙏🏻🤘🏼
It's been almost a year, how are these holding up?
I have same question as there are a good amount of reviews stating that they look good at first but then fail after sometime

How did you get the back window trim, I only got the 4pc kit,
I ordered them separately. The links for the trim pieces are in the description of the video.
Door Handles - Came white or you painted/Plasti?
Door handles were white on the vehicle, but it has been resprayed under warranty by Lexus/Toyota with the previous owner.
Would you buy the full set from these guys is it the same as garage alpha?
I just posted a newer Vlog on the Garage Alpha trim and it’s better quality than this trim. That video shows how bad the eBay trim warped.
The amazon link is only for the front and rear (4pc). Where did you get the ones for the rear quarter panel windows?
Hey Michael, Good catch...I didnt add the links for those and I apologize. Here is the link to the trim pieces I bought.

Hi, does the new cargo window moulding comes with the clip that help to secure to the pillar?

Looked up window trims in Amazon don't see them
I need to buy the windows trims but where can I look
Hey Eddie! The links to the window trim are in the description of the video if you need them.
@@Awesomoto where on your link ah see it now you have great video make more videos you are very informative

I'm sorry for the delay. Yes, the seller that sent the wrong piece was WFLNHB. I also think it was an honest mistake and I just got unlucky.
You’re a f’n rockstar 🤘🏻
lol! I wish 😂
Looks great! Was your door handles paint matched when you bought the GX or did you wrap/paint yourself? Team eliminate all chrome!
The door handles were that color when I bought the vehicle. I wasnt aware there were GX's that didnt have paint matched handles. I agree with you, eliminate all chrome! lol
They sell black and white handles! I am not sure which I want.
I like the Chrome mine all Chrome the tail lights are chrome, the window pillars are chrome.
