Lmfao. I literally just commented the same exact thing yesterday, on another one of his vids! 😂 It’s crazy how all the clout and recognition goes to these other guys w/ nothing but same repetetive content *OR* straight up subtle, yet obvious advertising for a bunch of products similar to things/stuff most of us already have, yet my man over here can’t even get 100K likes? This guy actually has variety and always something new and random, as well as almost a vid covering most firearms out there, w/ actual example to 1st person demonstrate every detail to us. Not to mention all the vintage scopes, mods, and accessories he owns and covers in addition to his usual content.

The CZ-527 was, apparently, discontinued a few days ago. I suppose the Zastava Mk.85 will have a renewed relevance in the wake of the former's absence.
I'm glad to hear Zastava's quality is generally good. Lately, my consumer confidence has been a bit shaken by the rising prices and unclear quality standards, across the board.

Dramatically under appreciated - it is a privilege to own the Zastava 98 and the Mini 98 - these rifles are far above the plastic/composite and other materials rifles made in the West. Serbia stuck with the right way to make firearms - so far anyway. I'm buying another Zastava Mini 98 asap.

    I have an m70 ( Mauser 98) with a synthetic stock in .270.
Glass bedded and suppressed, Millett angle loc rings, sig sauer scope 3-9x40.
In load development, the most precise load shot 14mm @100m. The load I selected shot 19mm at 100m, but was at the top end of the ADI book powder loads. No pressure signs though.
Honestly I didn't know I shot that good, but it was repeatable, so it wasn't a fluke.
Longest shot taken, 270 metres, 9 point red stag.

Another GREAT VIDEO about mini actions Mauser and Howa 1500 which NOW I have BOTH!! I've had the very NICE CZ527 which is a beautiful handy carbine in 7.62X39 which is a pleasure to shoot (doesn't beat me up, I'm 72)!!! I recently picked up another NEAT MINI action rifle that supposedly was USED butt I say it doesn't look like it. I was looking around at BassPro shop's used gun section and saw 2 good-looking rifles being curious type I checked to see what caliber and PRICE. They were both Weatherby Vanguard Camillas, one was 243 Winchester and the other was 7mm08, both were $449.99 which I thought was a GOOD PRICE especially since they looked BRAND NEW to me!! I didn't know much about that particular model but was well acquainted with WEATHERBY as a VERY GOOD BRAND!!! Well did a little research and found out that they were Howa 1500 actions and they were kind of a DELUXE MODEL of the Weatherby Vanguard and it was meant for people of small stature like myself (women and youngsters) but I don't care who it was meant for, I LIKED IT!!! I guess that's why it was in those 2 calibers, both noted for light recoil!!! I chose the 243 because that caliber is a lot more prevalent than 7mm08 even though that's a GREAT CALIBER (7mm Mauser's little brother)!! Walmart carries 6-7 different loadings and manufacturers than almost any other caliber and they got some of the BEST PRICES on ammo!!! They have NO 7mm08 ammo at all!!!😮😢 So that kind of cinched it for me for my pick plus LESS RECOIL!!!😂😊 THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR GREAT INTERESTING AND INFORMATIVE VIDEOS, KEEP IT UP, SIR!!😊😊😊

FYI, that little Howa is great when placed in a MDT LSS chassis. I know, this is a little bit towards the tactical and non-traditional sense, but I must say it is a pleasure to shoot 7.62x39 in a setup that mimics a large precision rifle and simply focus on the act of shooting, not the accumulated cost.
Even with surplus, I have had good success of ~2.5" at 200 yards. If you do select the 1500 Mini for this use, I would recommend the bull barrel, as my early pencil model shows heat stringing. Remember to carry amonia or boiling hot water for post shoot cleaning at the range if using mercury sulfide based primers, as found in milsurp.
Oddly, I have been staring at Zastava models for a few weeks now, trying to find a particular elusive stainless model for a long-term project. Might have to add that 7.62x39 small action to the x39 bolt collection.

No, you’re right about more sleek optics. The post WW2 German made Nickel Supra is a slim, very clear and bright scope. It has a 27mm tube that required shims back then. My fathers Pre 64 Model 70 has one.

Good morning Mike, after watching the first video a week ago on the Zastava Mauser rifles, I found one in a local classified ad in 264 Win Mag for a couple hundred $$. Picked it up yesterday. It's actually branded a Herter J9 but stamped made in Yugoslavia. The flat checkered bolt knob, floor plate release, safety, etc. clearly coincide w/ the Zastava shown earlier. Beautiful metal work and bluing. The stock is walnut but rather plain, uncheckered, no grip cap or fancy forend but I imagine it'll be a good shooter since the bore looks virtually untouched. I want to thank you for your well informed educational videos that inspire us to find and collect some of these hidden gems!! Greetings from MI.

The Brno mini action started out as a .22 Hornet rifle. A Brno collector might disagree with the following words but they are my immediate recollection. They managed to shoehorn the .222 Remington into it and later replaced it with a longer action for the .223, 222 and .22 Hornet. That was called the Fox. All those rifles (as far as I am aware) had double-set triggers but with the Brno trademark there were always special items, either individual customer orders or short runs for various national distributors, e.g. the shorter barreled Model 4 rifles for the Swedish distributor. The CZ527 is essentially an updated Fox with a single-set trigger.

Careful when describing a howa 1500. Remington all though very similar is not the action that is based off of. The howa has a one piece bolt where the Remington uses a solder process. Machining practices at howa are far better, extractors are also larger. Usually there will be vent holes in the bolt body in the event of a rupture. very evident on weatherby vanguard models. Also I believe the degree of bolt lift is different to the Remington. Good video!!

Zastava M85 7.62 x 39 mm is a great rifle, the CZ 527 7.62 x 39 mm is really a carabine (shorter and lighter), the CZ 527 has a detachable magazine that not look good if you compare with the clasic sytle of Zastava.

Thank you Lourdes - I had the same thing happen with a US made rifle. I took a piece of steel wool and cleaned out the chamber and the shell extracts now. The problem happens when the chamber reamer becomes worn - happens in many factories. Clean out the chamber with something abrasive and use a little lubrication - this should solve the problem. I hope. : ) All the best to you.

    Excellent video,....I thought that Smith & Wesson 1500,.....Howa 1500,.....Wheatherby 1500 were just Saco clone's.
And that Mossberg bought out Smith & Wesson so the Mossberg 1500 is the same as the Smith & Wesson 1500.
And I think the actions are made in Japan and there only small differences between them,... extractors,.... triggers,.... stock's ect.

I don’t understand why these Zastava rifles are called mini Mauser, their action is nothing like a Mauser action. They are a push feed action without a claw extractor, and in fact they are like a Sako action. They still function fine but in no way do they have any features of a Mauser.
