Hello George, I am an Italian farmer and I grew up on a Fiat 160/90, bought new by my father and grandfather, indestructible and tireless tractor sold in 2007 for 16000 euros and had only 7000 original hours, it was the ugliest thing to sell it, now it would be worth twice as much. A piece of Italian agricultural history.👍💪
Classics like the Fiat are really becoming very collectable especially over here as they are quite rare, indeed this is the first one I've ever seen, but what a tractor 👍
@@GeorgeSaunders Yes you are right they are becoming rare even in Italy especially the 160 and 180/90 and the few left are used for very heavy work. Our 160 was really very reliable, in 7000 hours we only made the clutch once and for the rest only maintenance, it was a beast😊💪
A lot of Fiat's sold around us. Farm Industries lost the MF agency and took on Fiat, so a lot of customers stuck with them as a dealership and changed brand. Sadly most have now either rusted out or been exported. I've got a 1580 which is the model before the 160-90. Driving it certainly puts a smile on my face!
We borrowed the neighbours F140 many moons ago with earth trailer, it turned up in the yard and I thought what a bag of crap! How wrong was I. Just a lovely machine!!❤
The blue Steiger looks in magnificent condition. There wouldn’t be to many as good as it these days and doesn’t it sound good. The little Marshal looked like it had a Perkins 354 in it, a wonderful motor, possibly the best motor ever built. That will put the cat among the pigeons. I have one in a Minneapolis Moline GTB and it purrs like a kitten.
Nice vidio George my mate drove FW30back on the late 70s awesome machine here it working miles away biggest tractor on the Isle o Wight use to pull 10 furrow dowdswell semi mounted plough bit off handful on headlands .I use to plough all the headlands with a1184 County with a 5 furrow plough.👍🚜😊
Difficult choice here between the TM and the FW.... OK TM155. Still got my manual from TM sent to me FOC. for showing interest in them. Love them to bits. Thanks George for the trip down memory lane.
That's some proper classic machinery there mate. Your eyes litt up at the fw30 that Cummins sounds glorious. I'd make a cheeky bid George I know you have a soft spot for them...👍
Some good old pullers there today, pure raw power where you need it, no ad blue no dpf every horse on the end of that shaft is there to use. Friend of mine has 2 Fiat 110-90s in his working fleet both can do a days work both punch far higher then 110 horses.
@@GeorgeSaunders I agree with you tractors now are so bogged down in emissions control it does make them numb, give me one of those old Fiat's, a nice 6cyl IH or a county with black smoke pouring out as you pile on the coal loved it. Still do!
Brilliant video mate, happy birthday too can’t wait to have a ride to yours We should have had the big challenger going with the 18L CAT which one shall I bring with me at the weekend 😮?? 😂
I spent many hours on a TM 155 ploughing George the air con on them weren’t the best and with that hydraulic tank and diesel tank wrapping the cab it got plenty warm enough in the cab at harvest time
Great video George 👍 in order of preference gotta be the Fiat first then the Track Marshall then the FW 🤔 yeh the FW is a beast but just not my cup of tea ☕🤔🤣👍
We always joked on the farm about parking the fiats next to the fords..secretly hoping they would get “friendly” never thinking it would become a reality🇬🇧❤️🇮🇹!!!
@@GeorgeSaunders worked on a few back in the day 😁 but one thing you really had to watch ... well up here in sunny Scotland anyway😆 was the big heay doors in the wind ... but lovely note from the engines

Drove a nearly brand new 180-90 for a week hauling grain with the biggest trailer you could find around back then. Was the best week of summer for 16 year old. Still this day I would love to own one of them.
The 160-90s were very popular in ireland.. Still a fair few of them scurrying about infact.. Neighbour up the road ran a fleet of fiats in the 2000's 110-90s to 160s... and then went to the winner fiats.. The 180-90s were also popular for the pull type forage harvesters..
The Ford FW 30 is still an impressive beast more than 45 years after they first came out in UK. There is one I know of in my part of the country. It's owned by a farmer and contractor near Elgin in Moray. He bought it many years ago to pull other tractors and trailers and lorries out of wet carrot fields at lifting time. It also turns up at local shows and ploughing matches as an interesting static attraction for visitors to see on the day.
That would be my perfect day out George😄 I love the big fiat, I remember seeing one with a trailed forager as a kid, and it sparked a fascination with them ever since ... incredible sounding engine. I'd have one in my toy shed alongside a ford 8630. The track marshall also sounds lovely. Did you bring any of them home is the big question?
Hey George, hope you are well. WOW love the big ford FW 30, that forde would be a great replacement of your TW. Watching your video you were like a kid in a candy store when you drove the fiatAgri 160.
Hallo george Nice Film from the youngtimer Traktors my Favorit is the fiat 160 90.serie and the ford t 30.nice to see that you have fun when you drived the Fiat

The Fiat has done some work! I guess the dealer in UK wasn't as big as the Ford dealers, and you brits would tend to Ford anyway. In Norway the Fiat was the most sold brand for many years in the 70's and 80's due to their fantastic 4wheeldrrive with difflocks and the NO-SPIN front axle :)
The big Fiat would be more than a match for the TW, like you said it must have been the dealer network and the fact that Ford had such a big following that Fiat didn't take off in the same way 👍
@@GeorgeSaunders Yes. I have the older model of 160-90, the 1580DT, and it's a powerhouse with the 8.1 litre engine and the 4 inch straight pipe 😁 They are very hard to get these days, I was looking for one for 4 years before i got a text from the guy that sold it to me 😅

Jakers matey some of those 110/90's here are selling for more than a decent second hand tractor like the T7000 newhollands etc

One of the few UA-cam channel that has never gotten boring or dropped in quality since day one . Another great video George . Top man 👍🏻

Mighty stuff George, Paul and Jamie, lovely machines, Thank You👌👍🙏🙂
The 180-90 was absolutely brutal…power wise. The sound of these when working HARD is pure bliss🥰🥰
We borrowed the neighbours F140 many moons ago with earth trailer, it turned up in the yard and I thought what a bag of crap! How wrong was I. Just a lovely machine!!❤
Those old Fiat tractors were some machines George, had 2 of them years ago some pulling power in them 👍🏻

Evening George, still think that FW30 could be making an appearance in Bedfordshire to replace the outgoing TW.
Surely a coincidence 🤔

Horsepower these days is definitely numbed by all the emissions they put on, 200 hp these days is the equivalent to a 150 hp from the eighties 👍
