- A crocodile was caught outright targeting a herd of elephants multiple times... This was nothing more than an irritation for the herd until the crocodile managed to grab one by the nose!

Africam, well-known for their live cameras all over Africa, captured this footage from multiple sightings on one of their Dam Cams in Victoria Falls Safari Lodge, and shared the footage with Latest Sightings.
Even as babies, elephants tend to be bigger than the typical crocodile’s prey. From the footage, we can also see that the croc would challenge some of the biggest elephants in the herd, so this wasn’t about food.
Elephants can drink well over 200 litres of water a day and are always on the lookout for the cleanest water sources. This waterhole overlooking the Zambezi National Park is the perfect spot for them, which is probably why they kept returning, even after a few encounters with the elephant-hating crocodile.
The interactions led to nothing more than a few light-hearted frights in the beginning. However, this crocodile was persistent. Every time the herd came for a drink, it would make its way toward them and wait in stealth for an opportunity to strike.
It really seemed that the crocodile had some sort of resentment towards elephants. Something that we’ve never seen before.
One morning, the herd decided to go for a drink again. The smallest of the elies drank from the little stream, while the adults went straight for the waterhole. Lo and behold, the crocodile was waiting for them again, but this time it was different...
The crocodile was in full stealth mode, and out of all the space available, one of the elephants decided to drink right next to the crocodile's trap!
The crocodile waited patiently, letting the elephant take a sip. Then, as soon as the elephant came in for another, the crocodile snapped as hard as it could, grabbing the very tip of the elephant’s trunk.
The elephant let out the loudest scream from the pain, then immediately pulled back. The crocodile had finally gotten one of the elephants. The bite was so strong, and with the crocodile being too stubborn to let go, the elephant was forced to drag the crocodile out of the water, hanging by its trunk.
Yet, still, the crocodile refused to let go. The rest of the herd scattered at this point, and in a move of desperation, the elephant shook its head around, flinging the crocodile like a ragdoll, eventually forcing the croc to let go.
The elephant ran off as quickly as it could, and the crocodile made its way slowly back into the water as if nothing had happened, waiting for more elephants to come its way.

This crocodile has big dreams.
That's Right 😂
I have a dream 😅😂
It is thinking ellie size steaks pls
Or possibly babies it's trying to protect.
In its dreams
Trying to keep elephants from their water source is an easy way to get turned into croc fashion accessories.
Right lol😂😂
Lol😂😂
So funny i forgot to laugh
@@MalacodaJbut you sure didn’t forget to comment like a child would.
@@privatecitizenguy2640 do i look like a child
elephant: let s change water hole, too many mosquitos here
That's a very powerful mosquito.
You ever screamed in agony and out of fear when a mosquito bit you on the nose? How about after the fact you ever continued to scream because the pain still hurts? What a crap comparison. Liked by 7 year olds that just see how massive an elephant is.
its the elephant equivalent to stepping on a lego or stubbing your toe
hitting your shin
Idk, the trunk can really get f'd up by a crocodile bite
I think it’s like stepping on a piece of glass because I’m sure that bite still hurts like hell especially on the trunk.
Except that this lego can kill calves and injure adult elephants
More like the equivalent of getting bit by a small dog
He REALLY wants to leave a legacy that other crocs will talk about forever🤣🤣🤣
Lmao😂😂😂
He almost couldn't get into the water
Imagine how'd you feel if someone started drinking your home away.
💀
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Very underrated comment 💯
Astute observation, lol
1:53 lol @ the one elephant who does not even flinch and stays in the water looking at the croc like “come at me bro” 😆
That elephant could not look at the crocodile because it was too dark for their eyes. The image you see is taken with a nightvision camera. Continue watching and you can clearly see the elephant didnt notice the crocodile until it was next to him and he got scared.
Yeah, really!!!
@@wassep965well I guess it's the matriarch. The older female elephant 🐘. Who's standing against the danger to protect her herd. There are few big other elephants in this pack adopting the front facing danger the time to let other weaker elephants to flee.
But u are right. She can't see the danger.
But she will remember. Avoiding the place or coming carefully during the day and kill thoses Croc if they still doesn't behave
Apparently, this crocodile managed to scare the elephants once, and now he is improving his skills.

greedy croc...lmao
Elephant: "Your swamp? What a crock!"
Croc is either delusional or had a territory beef with elephants disturbing his pond. I'm betting on the latter, from how he was attacking and harassing them.
Apparently a croc can still cause life threatening injuries to an elephant if they manage to damage the trunk, so the elephant has still got to be careful
Yea, elephants will struggle trying to live without their trunks in the wild
I’m guessing this crocodile was territorial of its water hole, and not necessarily hunting the elephants. It’s crazy that it was able to put the entire herd on edge and not have them all gang up on it.
They got lucky they didn't cause that's what happens in most cases
In the Channel Africam you can actually see the Crocodile pulling off something like this in multiple ocassions, possibly with multiple Elephant herds, it is very impressive.
Elephants are dangerous when threatened. They’re strong.
Moves a lot slower after being stomped on by the elephant!
Those elephants will never forget that
That's a gangsta Croc 😎 👏 💪🏾
Poor elephants just trying to drink and the Croc just trying to survive
The croc is like my mum, when I try to take the self-made cookies before christmas.
crocs must have poor vision not seeing what is attached to this dangling meat
He has excellent vision of someone drinking away his home.
😂😂😂
Can’t even get a drink in peace.
The first footage showed like the crocodile got hurt. It limped very slowly into the pond.
Yea Im sure the teeth cut right through the trunk causing infection etc, I’m surprised the elephants don’t protect themselves.
@@michaelsteven1090the crocodile was more hurt lol lets be honest lol
Crocs have low metabolism, so moving slowly in and of itself doesn't necessarily mean a lot.
Its normal for crocodiles to move slowly
@@MissDookiee Where?..They never touched the croc..I'm sure the ellies trunk was cut up yet they did nothing to stop the croc..very surprising for such large animals.
I am pretty sure this croc smoked the same stuff a lioness smoked 4 years ago.
Just type "One Lioness Tries to Hunt Elephant" in the search bar.
Anthropogenic activities are likely creating higher pressures and extreme desperation in habitats.
That! 😢
Croc really said "Nah, I'd Win"

Pretty sure the poor croc got somewhat crushed by the first one.
Like how Mum just kept baby 🐘 away from that area. 🐊
Good attempt at a re-enactment of "How the Elephant Got Its Trunk." Or I guess an even longer trunk in this case.
Fantastic filming thanks for Sharing, watched 3 times 👏👏👏
Elephants can lose their trunks when crocodiles bite them
No shit sherlock
All the elephants should’ve just started jumping in the water lol
"Get out my swamp" 🐊 😂
If anyone ever wondered like I do why animals can drink standing dirty water like this and not get sick.. it’s because they drink it so often they have built in immunity to the bacteria and parasites n stuff in them, n some animals digestive tracts are so short the water passes by n out so fast that the harmful stuff doesn’t have time to do harm so yea.. just in case anyone else was wondering😊
Interesting info. Thanks for sharing 👍🏾
Elephants also try to skim the top of the water and try not to disturb the underlying sediment where the more harmful stuff might be.
Well some animals consume much more deadly stuff than muddy water, like rotten meat, and without any problems, also just imagine the toxic stuff rats live in and consume in sewers, muddy swamp water has nothing on those toxic things.
this is 100% inaccurate. Elephants get parasites from water filled with parasites, just like any human would. If this was your only source of drinking water, the infections and parasites would make your life much shorter, just like it does theirs. Really really. hundreds of thousands of people die every year because they only have access to water of poor quality like this. And elephants have to deal with the parasites in the same exact way. Everything you said was complete BS.
Like when I eat Taco Bell.
Don`t understand why crocs are afraid of hippos but have no fear for elephants, and vice versa - hippos don`t care about crocs while elephants try to avoid them. So funny.
These elephants got spooked. I've seen examples of this not going well for the croc.
The Bird: But would you lose against elephant?
This Crocodile: Nah, I'd win.
Nature kicks so much ass. That last clip the croc was like "get outta hereee"
That Nile Crocodile is basically not afraid of anything.
Except for hippos.
That croc has the heart of a honey badger.
Elephant: I am big you can't drag me you stupid crocodile,
Crocodile: WORTH A SHOT. 😂
It's amazing how crocs are afraid of Hippos but don't fear Elephants.
First time I've seen a prey drag a croc out of the water.
Crocs can’t mess with the king of the jungle 🐘
It's not a jungle, doofus, also that title belongs to the lion, not the elephant

That Crocodile taking the meaning of a 'trunk call' quite literally.
And listening to Fleetwood Mac 'Tusk' on Spotify.
That must’ve hurt having your nose a bit by a crocodile
There are many moments involving Elephants vs Crocodiles in the wild but only a few were recorded
Croc: stay away from my backyard and dont dare to come over again
Scary. Elephants have lost trunks from Crocodiles.
This crocodile deserves my respect, these elephants are huge next to him but they don't scare him, he manages to scare several elephants!
Hyena attacks on lions, particularly lion cubs or isolated individuals, are examples of the complex and often hostile interactions between these two apex predators.
Elephant's are the real king of the jungle
One needs to be careful when they poke their nose into another's business. 😉

The crocodile thought he was him 😂
That crocodile is the honey badger of reptiles
A crocs gotta be pretty big and courageous if it decides to have a go at five elephants
I'm convinced crocs aren't scared of a single thing
The foolish crocodile didn't know it's place. It seemed to have forgotten his cousin that was trampled by an angry male elephant
This made me remember the crocodile-elephant story of childhood. Crocodiles do seem to fancy elephants.
Crocodile: I got your nose!
Crocodile was determined to kill one for being famous!!
🤣
We need to talk about the elephant in the room.
Crocodiles look at other animals and even human as food. doesn't matter how big or how strong is the animal. Love them
The croc must’ve smoked some strong weed, its hallucination is bad😂.

very ambitious
Crocodiles are just scary, no remorse, no second thoughts, anything that bleeds is up for lunch. But worst of all, since water is their natural habitat, you just can't see them coming when they attack. For a split second, the elephant went into survival instinct moment, screamed and run until the crocodile let go. It's amazing the fear crocodiles cause to their preys, and it's even more amazing that they believe that their environment is an all you can eat buffet
That is the most gangsta Crocodile I've ever seen.
It just doesn't give a fuck.
When you are hungry and there is no sugar in your blood, and someone give you a motivation 😂
If the croc going up against fully grown bull in musth he wouldn't even know wgat hit him 😅

His ambition was slightly misplaced
Elephants are the “Orcas” of land 🥹

There is a old African tale about the crocodile giving the elephant it's trunk

Crocodile was lucky those elephants didn’t feel like stomping him that day.
Just like in the myth of how the elephant got its trunk! seriously dumb croc though. lucky to be alive.
that croc was hurt after that baby elephant ran over his leg
@1 minute that was a big croc & the elephant pulled it out of the water like a rag doll
This is what you call "swinging for the fence"
But seriously, there were 2 or 3 babies there that could have tragically lost part of a trunk, followed by probable death. 😢
Croc has a death wish😂
The way the crocodile bit her nose
Just thinking in the elephant trunk awww poor thing
One mis step and the croxodile will become a Lacoste for the elephants..
It's like you're swimming and a fish bites you.
Apparently an elephants trunk (its nose) is one of the most sensitive organs found in any mammal. So I guess that bite must of hurt a lot. Ouch!
That crocodile is a proper stalker.
He went to see a fortune teller once. She told him his last word would be "YOLO."
You should mention date & time of that video. I watched it 1/2 years ago
