- Måneskin - I Want To Be Your Slave (MUST SEE) (BRITS REACTION!!)
Our follow up reaction to Maneskin.
Måneskin - Italy's Eurovision 2021 act - perform their original song “I Wanna Be Your Slave” and the Sanremo version of “Zitti E Buoni” during the Wiwi Jam at Home concert.

This band is absolutely amazing. But my 3 daughters won’t stop playing their music and it’s driving me up the wall.
Well done Italy. Lots of love from Australia 🇦🇺
@Lucky Black Cat
Ahh, brilliant, maybe we could do a reaction to your reaction to your daughters playing it non-stop.
That would go viral!!
Thanks for the comment, we appreciate it.
Cheers from the UK
It's the other way round with us - I am addicted, my sons are starting to like them too now!
Can we just appreciate the fact that this band plays live as if they were in Studio? The frontman voice never cracks or lose its power, which is rare to hear. This guys are the real deal, they've been busking together since they were 16, they are not a plastic commercial band. Check 'Moriro da Re', in that video the guitarist was 17, and the video is a work of art.
I lover their whole back catalogue, they are hugely impressive, no fluke for sure !
@Steve Mcqueen
Yup, we appreciated that too.
Thanks for watching
I know! Not a single hint of autotune anywhere... it's actual REAL music. Love it. (I didn't watch Eurovision and scoffed when people started talking about the winner, a "rock band". Then I watched a reaction to their grand final performance and HOLY HANNA!!! Now I'm binging their music, don't know how many times I've listened to their songs.)
Damiano reminds me of Freddie Mercury. Not because they’re similar but because they both have that strong stage presence that matches their voice so well.
React to Maneskin's Torna a casa, it's the most beautiful song I've heard even though I can't understand Italian.
I'm Italian, and trust me, the lyrics are amazing
Agree 100%🔥🔥🔥😭
I love it too, but listen to coraline ( with lyrics)
for me maneskin are bringing back good old english rock, in a modern way ,,, rock will never die ,,
English rock? they are Italians :)
@@scar80 I meant in presenting rock ... precisely that they are Italian, only they could, present it better, with its own personal originality :)
@@TShelby ok grazie
Guys the lyrics in Italian are great! It's not only the beat, the guy Damiano is genuinely a good lyricist. You should read a translation online.
He got the best lyrics award at Eurovision.
"For your love" it's another their fantastic song.
So much true, that song’s so good that it would make Led Zeppelin proud
Just a tiny correction, in Eurovision the vocals are actually live (as per the rules), however live instruments are not allowed which is a bummer for bands. Guessing it is bc of the extreme logistics between songs. So basically it is original song, singing and performance contest.
it's an original song contest, not a singing contest though. of course the singing impacts the way the song is perceived but it has always been a song contest, never a singing contest. just adding this to the conversation because I read this a lot. :)
@@MsAaannaaa you are absolutely correct, edit above :D
@@MsAaannaaa I feel like great vocals will not save a mediocre song, but rubbish vocals will absolutely ruin a great song (Romania 2021).
bit of a shame imo they used to even have a live orchestra in eurovision.
Their entire album Teatro d’Ira Vol. 1 is amazing. They make that kind of music that we miss in these times. We need a new young band that loves rock and uses the best rocker as inspiration. The combination of Damiano charisma and voice +their talent(instrumental) + their influences, is a bomb 🤘🏻
I don't know why, but I'm in love with this Band
I do know why though.....
Very talented band and it has the special IT factor needed to crossover. I am playing them non-stop post Eurovision.
You will fall in love with "Vent'anni" (a ballade from Måneskin's new album "Teatro d'ira")
Great reaction - I am so glad you really liked it this time :-) I think it is a band that you grow into (and get addicted to). The truth is, and you probably found that out now, that they are not a Eurovision band, but a genuine rock band - with the incentive of having half their songs in Italian language. Being addicted now myself, I listened to their whole back catalogue, and I have to admit that it is very impressive. There are some rock ballads like Coraline, that are out of this world (Italian Lyrics alone are both beautiful as well as hounting). I cannot speak for all others, but my feeling is that they will conquer the world, they are simply that good, and it has nothing to do with Eurovision - their lyrical song writing, musicality, quintessential voice, chemistry (which male band has a female bass player ? Franz Ferdinand didn't :-), aesthetics will all appeal to many of us. Funnily I would claim that they will appeal to my generation (50+) same as to the younger (20+), so this makes them very strong.
@Kim Acronym
Hahah, yeah, we did like them the first time around, honest!! it just got a bit muddled up with the ESC thing.
Anyways, you make some good comments there and we will have a look around at more, I did check out their X Factor Audition song after our ESC Reaction as I noticed many comments saying we should check them out.
As for the female in the band, that is a good point, but to be fair, I do like the band that Harry Styles plays with and they all have that 70's look and dress appropriately for that era too, including Harry which led me to say thy had the same trousers.
All in all, we all seem to be on the same page.
Thanks for the comment.
@Kim Acronym
Which male band has a female bass player? Talking Heads for a start. Don't get me wrong - just joking. Just like you - I'm the same generation and I've been metaphoricaly opening champaign bottles from the moment I heard Maneskin. I felt them THAT special to google the same night. The years of gate keeping the classic rock for ages were just gone in the second. I'm totally excited about the different generations consensus around them on the internet. I honestly believe the world of rock needed them here and now. Greetings from Croatia.
@The Rabbit
🙂 Good opening line BTW!!
We do like a bit of Great Van Fleet, those young guys rock too.
We have done a couple of reactions to them already if you want to check those out or just go and find them for yourselves.
We are looking to do some of their live performances too.
Thanks and stay safe out there.
@@BritPopsReact Thank you for the suggestion. I know them allready. That's exactly the type of music I used to listen to.
They have some phenomenal ballads, the translation is easy to find at this point. Give them a try, Damiano's voice is at its best!
So happy about that, they accepted to go to Eurovision because they wanted to go back live concert, and as you can see from their win reaction they weren't realizing until it happened🤣🤣🤣, apart from that, they've done two amazing albums and I'm sure there will do more and more🤘, thanks for enjoying🇮🇹
@NicolaPennesi

@Liviu Rarunchi
You and Maneskin are very welcome, it was great to watch it.
Cheers & Ciao from the UK
Being a fan since XFactor auditions, I would like to underline the fact tha Zitti e Buoni was not composed for ESC but for Sanremo Festival, the most important song contest in Italy. The only way to join ESC is to win the competition, chosen by a jury and by viewers. They made history because it was the first time that a rock song had managed to win a competition like this, being a contest where songs are generally more classical ones, like ballads or uptempo, and always in Italian (it's actually the rule). They chose to present the same song in Rotterdam and show that Italian language can be as good as English when singing, they were proud to represent their country with their own language.
Very good big rhythm scene on stage. Pure show
4 Roman guys are going to conquer the world, the Roman Empire is back 👍🇮🇹💯👍🇮🇹💯
It's 3 guys and 1 girl...the girl plays bass and she is the one who formed the band.
Yesssss!
Eros Ramazzotti was Roman and sold 80 million albums around the world. Maneskin can stand in queue.
These guys rock out! I don’t understand WTH they are saying but that 2nd part of the song is pretty badass. The Vocalist makes this band. But always look at a band LIVE. Live you get one chance and that’s where the real talent shines. Studio version you have unlimited chances to get it right plus editing. I would consider have a grading system per genre. Maybe start grading with decimals as well like a 6.7,8.1 but never ever a 10. No such thing as a perfect song for anyone. Good job guys. If you ever grade anything a perfect score that means no other song on earth will ever top it. That’s impossible. Use decimal points!
@C4duke
That is a very fair point, it's not so much about it being perfect, it's more a "how did that make us feel" system.
On a first hearing, did we think.... huumm...ohhhh..woooow...or banging.. but we could not find that scoring system so we went with the Bulldog one!!
As for going into decimals, are you mad, we spent all the budget on the haircuts!!🤣
Have a great day and get some sleep!!!
@@BritPopsReact hahahahaahaha no one does decimal systems here on reaction videos only round numbers. I’ve watched hundreds of reaction videos. Anyway it’s 2:45 am here just a friendly suggestion. Good night lads! You are Chelsea fans are you???
@C4duke
Hummm, someone no one else does on YT, cunning 🤣
We will have to check the schedule for the 5 year old child that produced our graphics and see if they know decimals yet!!
Thanks as always

The jury wrote about the winner: ‘ZITTI E BUONI is an unapologetic song with very evocative images. The metaphors in the lyrics are well-chosen and constantly speak to you. This is not a sweet song, and therefore the imagery isn’t pretty, but purposely disruptive. ZITTI E BUONI is a raw cry from the misfits of this fake society.

I kind of snubbed "zitti e buoni" at first... when it won Sanremo... but I had to revaluate it and now it's giving me goose bumps!
among the bands mentioned as an inspiration I would also mention the White Stripes... but we shouldn't be obsessed with comparisons with others. it's hard nowadays to come up with something "catchy" and original and they definitely did it.
@Gio Q
We popped out and had a quick look at "White Stripes - Seven Nation Army" and the delivery is very similar also, a "start-stop" vocals.
But they are very very good and nice to watch live too.
@@BritPopsReact it was extremely popular in Italy back in 2006 as it was the unofficial "anthem" of our winning world cup 😉 "Zitti e buoni" actually partially plagiarized another italian song YT: "LAZLO - sono fuori di testa"

The fantastic thing about maneskin is that my 6 fav songs are almost entirely a different set of tracks: Wanna be your slave, For your Love, In nome del padre, Lividi sui Gomiti, Paura del Buio and yes, Coraline. The harder they get the better and yet their ballads are just as good. And their funky songs. Go Maneskin!!!!

Zitti e Buoni: The original version is aprox 30 seconds longer than the ESC version, the swear words are changed. ESC requirements: max. 3 min for a song, no swear words.
I love the 3 minute restriction of Eurovision, it really takes a lot of work to make a song that can work at that short length. I think Zitti e Buoni fits the 3 minutes straitjacket perfectly, with so much energy it threatens to burst and spill the madness everywhere, I love that tension.

Victoria uses in this case a Danelectro Longhorn 58 bass, not easy or comfortable to use, rather particular with an equally particular sound. Marlena torna a casa is another amazing song of Maneskin
You shoul listen to it😉
lol cool 🇮🇹🇬🇧
I'd like to specify one thing. The original lyrics of Zitti e buoni do include bad words; they were changed to a milder version to comply with Eurovision's rules, but the one you played here is the regular, uncensored version. That is not the reason why Zitti e buoni was chosen for Eurovision instead of, say, I wanna be your slave.
Traditionally, the artist who gets to represent Italy every year is the winner of the Sanremo festival, which is the most acclaimed musical contest of Italian song and is held every Spring, around February, since 1951; Eurovision actually took inspiration from it. A main rule in Sanremo is that the songs running in it must be original and in Italian. This year's winner was Zitti e buoni. You might say that, regarding Eurovision, Italy is a country that actually tries.
By the way, the title means "(Be) quiet and (be) good", in the plural; it's something a teacher might say to a loud class of children.
The main gist of the lyrics is "people talk, although they don't know what (the fuck) they're talking about; (...) we are out of our minds, but we're different from them".

Thanks for the comment.
