I started with FC back in the 80's! lol- the ancient times your book came from. I've sat through FC training a number of times with various companies I worked for...they are the real deal. The original planner and planning. I used to switch between compact and classic. FC is the best.
Me too! Back then you were either a Filo or a Franklin. I used to look so forward to picking up my new year packet in the “Seasons” style and browsing the brick and mortar.
I used FC planners from 1990-2004, as an executive for a Fortune 500 company. I became certified to teach the planning system to other people in the company in 2003. I retired in 2004 and then went to work for FranklinCovey. I watch all these planner videos on UA-cam and think, they look pretty, but how do people track what they got done and didn't get done. With the FC planner system, (using the symbols and prioritization), nothing falls through the cracks. I literally never forgot anything. So glad your mom introduced you to a "real deal" planning system. I am retired now, so I use a Happy Planner because planning is more of a hobby now. When you need to GSD (Get Stuff Done), Franklin is the way to go. They used to have planners and totes to match in colors like hot pink, yellow, blue etc. I am a matchy matchy kind of girl, so I had to have 5 or 6 different sets. I think you will find yourself working more efficiently and working smart, not hard. Looking forward to watching your progress.
Hi Janine. Thanks for becoming an FC teacher. I'm sure you impacted many lives. FC impacted my life back in the 90s. Still use their methodology today.
I was also trained in Franklin Quest then Franklin Covey. I worked for them teaching the classes. I have been switching all over the place trying to find a system like theirs. And now I am seeing so many new videos. So I have my new Franklin Planner. This is an excellent video. Even if you not using it still thanks for this video.❤
I read that book and loved it too. The main credo of FC planning is to use just one planner for everything, and I stick with that like glue because it means it's all in one place. (Unless your work demands you use a separate planner due to privacy and having to be able to share it with co-workers if you're out, etc). I know it's vogue to have multiples these days (tho I don't know how those women afford all the doo dads not to mention time spent stickering everything just to make it pretty, but in the system, if you *need* that many than you're probably not prioritizing well. FC's quadrants of productivity is genius and the whole bullet journal system is really just an elaboration of the system FC created for their daily pages. I am sure if you stick with the FC system, you will not be disappointed. You can still do any deco you like, of course, and you may even find more time and money for it since you will be more productive in your time and certainly save loads of money by not buying a single Erin Condren planner (so pricey for what you get...sheesh) or multiple Happy Planners (cheaper than ECLP but not if you're buying 5 to splice together--OY).
Yesssss!!! Thanks for this! I totally agree! I can’t imagine using multiple planners. I love this system and the way it mainstreams and simplified everything!
I think many people have multiple planners to justify the "shiny object" syndrome, the eye candy also known as having to have the latest and the newest...I have learn that because I have (sometimes still am!!!) :-) guilty of it! Planner peace comes from having one planner and not chasing after the latest and newest! I started with FC over twenty years ago worth the investment because I still have the binders in great shape.! I have switched back and forth HP, Carpe Diem and FC just started back with my FC with the July bloom inserts. Franklin may still have their Summer Sale going on 30% off binders!! They also are collaborating with Teresa Collins for the fall...go to her youtube to see a preview of some gorgeous binders!!!!
You said a mouthful! I totally agree. I am a happy planner. I hav be ever used Franklin but my mom said her job back in the day required/encouraged its use. I have multiple happy planners. I only use one! I buy them because they are pretty etc. I know that is not practical but it is a guilty pleasure. I tried splicing several together, but the truth is I need my day/week/ month on one page or in one place. If that makes sense. I can’t have a school, work home, budget section etc. I need to open a month/week/day and see all I have ahead of me. Otherwise I feel all over the place!
Thx for that comment. I am seeing so many folks using multiple planners I can’t even believe it. But if that’s what floats their boats, whatever works. I didn’t know their course is free online now. But one planner for everything is efficient. It’s whatever helps someone stay focused and be efficient.
As a multiple planner user, I have to disagree with you - first: not all the planners are for achieving tasks - some are for memory keeping or tracking. And sometimes it just makes more sense to somebody to not only use one planner. I started out with one Bullet Journal for all the things - except work, because I never could wrap my head around the idea to have both in the same planner. But then I realized, that it makes absolutly no sense to have a big book with me all the time, that contains tasks I couldn't even fulfill if I had time, because I was not at home. So the idea of an On-the-go planner was born and these are my three planners: work, personal/teaching and on-the-go - most things don't overlap - only if it effects the other area. Works well for me - might not for anybody else. And yes - sometimes it's just fun to have a planner that you can make pretty - it's a routine that relaxes me and I don't do it if I don't have time (work and on-the-go are sparsly pretty). It's a hobby - I heard some people like jogging - I don't have time for that! :-D Just kidding but I really hate running! I really don't understand why I always have to read comments like this (and mind you, I don't say yours is awful - on the contrary, it might be the nicest one I've ever read) under videos that are about functional planning. In the comments of decorative videos there is nothing like: I really don't understand how people can only use one planner - I don't believe them anyway - they are just hiding the others! And how boring is it to have a planner without stickers! Hope you don't take that the wrong way! :-)
I totally agree - I went thru the FC training back in the 90's and there is simply no other planner like it. They really know what they are doing. Enjoy your planner!
I’m so old school... I’ve had a Franklin since 1996. I have every planner still... in Franklin storage boxes. I’m glad you found them... because they are AWESOME! (Classic size here.)
I used Franklin for years...since high school. The last 3 years I have gone from Franklin to Happy Planner to Passion Planner and now with the Teresa Collins release, I am going back to Franklin, where I was happy.🏃🏾♀️
yessss Kayla! Good choice! I think all those planners could work, but rings are so satisfying to me. Oh and this TC release is gonna be awesome! I hope they don't all sell out super quick, because I need them all! LOL!
Great Video. I have been using the Franklin Covey system since High School, all the way into and through college and in my professional career and as a mom. All in all over 30 yrs plus. I still have my original FC binder. I have tried using different planner systems along the way but have always came back. This system has literally held me together. Everything is in one place. My daughter is a Deputy and they use this system in the academy.
I just randomly came across this video. I just got into using a planner. I don’t know how to plan and I’ve been feeling out of whack! 😆 I have a 3 yr old and I started back at school and what I’m doing is not helping me. I have ADHD but I’m not gonna let that stop me from being great 🤷🏾♀️. Organization doesn’t come natural to me. I struggle with it but I’m always fascinated by organized ppl. My fiancé is an organized person. He often helps me reign in the mess 😩. My goal is to be personally organized enough to teach my daughter some of these skills.
RavinJ Have you tried Franklin Planner before? I highly recommend it. There is a saying “ Life is like a checkbook, if you don’t balance it you lose control”. I have been using the Franklin planner/ FranklinCovey system since I was in high school, I used it, through college, and still use it today. My children used the 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens. If you read anything on this system start with The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. I swear by this system. I have left the system to try other planning systems, and I have spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars on other planners and I’ve always come back to the Franklin Covey system. I am married and I have 5 children, and this system is so simple but so effective. I too am very very hyperactive, my brain processes things differently than a lot of other people. My dining room table looks like it’s chaos but I know where everything is at on that table, if you move one piece of paper I will know you moved it, and people think that I’m crazy but that’s just how my brain processes. So with the Franklin planner system I am able to put everything down on paper where I can physically see it. I organize it on my task list, and once I see it on paper I am able to now take control of what is in front of me instead of it being chaos in my head or dining room table. Everything is in my planner, from my home, to repairs to finances, school, conferences my husband‘s employment, vacations, important info, medical information, insurance. In the event of an emergency I always tell my children all they have to do is just pick up my Franklin Covey and everything is in there, no need to look elsewhere. Hope this helps.
JGsJourney so hilarious but that is the current book I am reading!!!!!! I’m a few chapters in. I read a few pages everyday. I’ve been needing more structure to my life. Life has been a lil intense lately and I’m working on being “proactive” and not reactive. 😆. I want to provide my daughter with basic skills to model. I’m a new mom. I never thought I would have kids but I love her so dang much and want to be the best mom possible! A lil order might help 😆. I’m a reader so I want to check out the book in the franklin planner.
In the late '70's the company I worked for sent me a one day seminar to learn how to use the Franklin Planner!! That information is most likely now in the book your mother sent to you. My head was throbbing from information overload by the end of the day; however, I did purchase a Franklin Planner Classic size and attempted to use it as taught but doing that felt like another job!! Eventually I used the planner just as a "to do" list. I did like the address/phone section and use it to this day. Fast forward to the last three frustrating years trying to work out the Bullet Journal system. I really like the idea but, as you said, drawing calendars and other parts of the planner in a blank journal wasn't my thing either. After having purchased about five planners, thinking each one would be IT, I stumbled onto a video several days ago where someone was using a Franklin Planner for her BuJo. WHHHAATTTTT? The proverbial light bulb went on over my head: The original cover for my planner (remember - around 40ish years old) is in perfect condition - no scuffs, tears, etc.; I still keep it by my desk for address reference (no I don't use a smart phone for that), and other random info I've put in there; the rings will allow me to not agonize how much space I should leave in a blank journal for various topics - I can insert a divider, move the section around, or delete it entirely. It is wild to think a planner that I have had all these years will now have purpose again!! I ordered a new set of "innards" (July - Dec)...then later found my archive book with a LOT of various Franklin Planner inserts, mainly blank pages. If I read the book your mother sent to you now with some *ahem* years under my belt it would likely make a LOT more sense and not make my head hurt. Thank you for posting @MJ and enjoy your new planner. It has definitely stood the test of time!!
Your excitement about this system is so inspiring! I’m already using the fc compact size inserts and I’m excited to take their class to learn more about their system of planning. Thank you for sharing ❤️
I first got introduced to Franklin Covey planner in 1991 (I took the class) and I used it for many many years and then recently in the past 2 years, I wanted to try something else, different planner (prettier, the whole year in one book) and I’ve never felt as organized since getting away from Franklin planner. So this year for 2023 I’m returning to the Franklin planner! I have got a new Franklin planner with the Monarch pages which is the biggest I’ve ever gotten. But I am in sales and take lots of notes so I need all the paper and all the room and all the organizational tools that it provides. I am so excited and I can’t wait till 2023 starts so I can start using it. Thanks for this video! I was laughing because I totally understand how much better Franklin is for planning. There’s nothing like it once you start using it. I, too, tried to use the cute smaller planners and it never worked out and I was just wasting my money and half assed my year and it was disorganized.
Hey MJ! Loved your video. Hyrum Smith’s advanced day planners guide is one of my main reasons for switching into a franklin too! I tried to use the system before, but it never really stuck with me because I didn’t know how to apply it to my life! After reading that book, I decided to give the system another chance. I just love it!
This is a “2nd book” on the Franklin Planner. If you haven’t read it, read Hyrum Smith’s Ten Natural Laws of Time and Life Management. It used to be the book that was included in the box with your Franklin Planner starter kit.
That book I kept for about 20 years. Reread it so many times. They also had a cassette (remember those?) to teach you how to use the planner. I started with that system in 1994 and it carried me through my entire career. Tried it again since retirement. But so far not helping me in retirement. Thx for the video.
My mom bought me my 1st Franklin planner when I went to college. Then I got caught up in all the planner hype and never planned! I’m back in a Franklin planner and I love it!
I just now found this video and enjoyed it! I was a Franklin planner user for many years, and even now in retirement I use one (Her POV). When you showed the Blooms inserts, I felt all kinds of happiness and nostalgia. It was my favorite for years! Still miss it, but I don't need quite that much space now. :)
I have been a Franklin Covey Planner user for over 20 years. I plan on getting some of the Teresa Collins ones and now using Notiq. I love Sophistication & Simplicity as my planner lifestyle. Thank you for sharing.
For myself I like the Classic Size Franklin Planner. Franklin Planners have 4 different sizes, they are from Smallest to largest, Pocket, Compact, Classic, & Monarch. No matter which size you prefer the Planning System is the same.
My first planner back in college. My friend worked there so I got a discount. I spend a small fortune for that system. So, funny how some things never change. lol
Welcome back. Not only dd I come back to the product last summer, but I am learning and really going to use the whole methodology. I think it is better to help me focus than all the electronic systems out there.
Oh my gosh, thank you so much for showing that book! I used to have it and seeing it again prompted me to buy it again! I don’t know why I didn’t hold on to it.
I used the Franklin planner for Sooo many years and went to the course. Totally awesome. Then it became Franklin Covery, went to the class again. It is a great system! I lived and used it for almost 2 decades.
agree ... it has a structured layout for focusing into our goals. thank you for sharing. 2024 I will use 3 Franklin Planner 7 Habits Japanese Slim Edition, one for todolist, one for health - meals - expenses, one for daily notes and review. All so small an and I carry on in my pocket.
You took it waaaay back! Looking good!! I got a Franklin Cover Planner when I got my first job out of college. I cannot use their things the way my wants are set up but you have inspired me to go back and refresh their processes. Also, I use a pocket and I’m very detailed in my planning; it can be done in a small size.
Fabtastic video. That book is old gold! For anyone with angst about planner sizes…Don’t forget the Franklin “Satellite.” It’s absolutely clutch. It’s a small booklet with tear-out pages perforated to fit any size Franklin planner. That’s what I carry on my person (with a small pen) at all times in the office. That’s what I take into a meeting in place of my 2-page-per-day Classic size planner if it’s gonna be crowded or if I’m at someone else’s office. Then I just clip the note into my planner later and transfer any tasks to my task list. Pow. I’ve tried many digital planning systems since I first got a Franklin in 1994, but I’d always come back to paper when stuff hit the fan. My mistake was in thinking digital was always better. Well in this case paper is better…for me.
I checked that book out on the internet archive website and flipped through it. Looks really neat! I don't think I can get a Franklin planner in my country. I've recently started using a Filofax and really love it. I may try making some custom inserts using the ideas from Franklin planner and printing them out.
I had to smile at the be humble part about the book because I am guessing your mom and I are close in age and it seems like all the planner people think all this is new. BTW... Love my Franklin planners. Not sure if it was Franklin but one of them had/have an 8.5x11 size planner.
Hahaha! Yess! I've read so many books on planning and taken so many courses, so when she gave me this, I was like, What? Are you serious?! I feel like I had know Stephen Covey and David Allen personally based on how much I've read! LMBO!! But yes! I definitely needed to calm myself and be open to new information, and I'm so glad I did!! ha!
Kat hie Franklin also has the Monarch size which holds the letter size paper. They don’t have as many binders and planner options but they’ve continued to carry it throughout the year.
I have been using franklin planner system for a few years now and i love the system. Just this year i started using happy planner which i also love. I do use franklin for my main catch all, there will no change in the foreseeable future.
good video & smart thinking committing to one size...classic will be so useful for grad school. My summer planner is the FC pocket, stamped red leather zip-around.
Thank you!! You are giving so much useful information! The essence of REAL planning! So many golden nuggets in this video. I didn’t even know you could switch out binder rings!🤯. Can’t wait for more updates!🙌🏾❤️📒
Thanks so much for this video! I went to the FranklinCovey website and am doing the course right now! I am a planner nut from WAY back and have a collection of Filofaxes but for the last few years have been using the disc bound Happy Planner system-I love it because all the inserts are so cute and trendy and can be changed out so easily! I also like that they are available nearby so I can see them in person! Anyway, thanks for the recommendation of the course, I am using my Happy Planner and it is working great, and is really helping me focus!
really enjoyed this! very happy for you that you are in a system that's really working and will contitnue to work for you. you always remember your first Franklin LOL :) I loved their training back in the day, still have it in mind when i'm planning to this day.
love it! I recently switched to Franklin planner too ! I needed something less freeform (tho I love the hobonichi) and all in one for the year (unlike the the Full Focus quarterlies, that I love too!). and before that, like you - pockets and not enough space (I think that's how I found you!) I also really love the 7 habits idea/book and am now reading the Families version. thanks for mentioning the planning course! gonna check it out asap
That’s great!! I hope you like it!! :) & you’re right Franklin Planner is much more structured. It’s so helpful if that’s what you need! Thanks so much for watching!
I love Franklin too and always like seeing how other people use theirs. I'm always looking for ways to improve. :) At around 7:30 minutes I see a little card at the beginning of your planner that says Planning Routine. Would you mind sharing what that says? Or maybe it is already in another video? I just subscribed to your channel, but this is the first video I have watched. Very much looking forward to more!
Great video!! I am so glad you are promoting Franklin Planner, there are not a lot of recent videos. I am like most who are familiar with the Franklin Planners they go way back...80's and 90's and FC was my first planner. Like you said FC focus on a system, they are moving more towards not only functional but pretty planning and there is a market for the pretty, so I am glad they have a collab in the works with Teresa Collins. Their collab with My Minds Eye are some of the most beautiful planners and binders out there. I just switch back to FC from HP with the Holly binder and Blooms July 2020 planners...sounds like "great minds think alike!!! MJ I like your style!!! Your video also made me search out the Advanced Planning book too!! Just ordered it today and have subscribed to your UA-cam!! :-)
Thanks for sharing your thoughts and planning journey with us. I’m really struggling right now to make sense of things right now. I get so caught up in all the cuteness and prettiness and lose the functionality. I need a system that works. I’ve had Franklin Covey planners before but never took the training or read the books. I’m definitely going to look at FC again. Thanks so much.
I just bought FP based on your video.I used to use it years ago and find I now need more structure as well.I got the Ryder tan with 15% off code WELCOME
Hi MJ! I love this video and that you are using Franklin Planner! I’ve been in so many different kinds of planners in the past, but i just switched to Franklin 2 pages per day about a month ago. That book looks amazing! I just bought it on Amazon after seeing this. I’ve been wanting an Anna, so gorgeous!
I'm so glad you posted this video! I'm torn between an Anna or a Libby zipper classic. Would you be able to set up your Erica and tell me what's more practical? How big are the rings you switched to? I think the zipper ones have a larger footprint but then I'm like, well a zipper would hold more! It's to use as a finance budget book. Also, isn't the classic a bit of a pain to carry around? Sorry for all the questions 😂
Lol! No worries! I love the questions! :) I like Erica, but the snap on the Anna is so much more satisfying. The Erica can hold everything that I have in my Anna, so in terms of practicality, they're both great. I'd recommend the zipper if you have some loose papers, or if you're carrying it in a bag with stuff you don't feel is safe for your pages). & Honestly, it's not that bad to carry around, because I keep it in my car. I'll bring it with me in case I need it, but it stays in the car if I'm doing a lot of walking. :)
Love the video, but I have one question - do you carry your planner with you? It’s so big, and I can see myself not wanting to take it with me. In that case, do you only use your phone or do you carry a notebook?
Hey Kira! Thanks for watching! I do take my planner with me but if I take a small purse or I'm walking for a long time, I keep it in my car. For grocery shopping, my husband and I use a shared note on our phones! It's not too much to carry for me because I don't take a lot of other stuff, and I sometimes carry a backpack.
Just tried the promo code and got a ‘no longer valid’... siiggghh... The black rings are beautiful! - How did you find out about those...? Are they listed somewhere in the FC site? - And how much were they? (Gotta say, prices in USD are pretty painful for us up here in Canada!) - PLEASE post the measurement of the inside diameter of those? Are they 1.25”? Or bigger? I am so glad to know all it takes is an Allen wrench to change them out. Now if only FC in North America would get on the bandwagon and offer insert packages in TOMOE RIVER PAPER (or similar)!! Do I hear an “AMEN”?
I’m waiting on my Cognac Anna and 1.5 inch rings. QUESTION: Did you have to install the black rings using new screws or the 1.25 inch screws from the rings that came with the planner? Thanks
I was just going to buy the pink moterm pocket planner then changed my mind. I was thinking Franklin covey but they dont fit other planners but their own. I love the system though. compact is wider than personal but may fit.
The Franklin compact size ring binder & inserts are very slightly wider than personal size Filofax or Kiki-K or Kate Spade BUT the holes of the FC compact rings line up the same as the others. The Franklin pocket size is similar to A6. To adjust the holes, I put tape or washi over the existing holes and just punch new holes in the inserts to fit properly...
Just want to confirm: is the term “frankenplanner” or franklin planner? From my understanding it’s frankenplanner because it’s taking pieces of different planners and combining them- like Frankenstein. ☺️
Hi there. You had mentioned in your video that to get the other colour rings you have to call a number? I really like the Anna planner but I’m a gold person not silver 😊
MJPLANNER, when you switched the rings to the 1.5 size, do the pages close ok? Do the tabs stick out? Can the strap close easily with all those pages? Thank you for your videos.
It closed fine and the pages were fine as well! The reason I switched them back out was because I’m a leftie and it was difficult to write on the pages because the rings got in the way.
Franklin Covey delivers. No other paper planning system or digital planning system is as complete. FC says that if you follow their system NOTHING WILL FALL THROUGH THE CRACKS. I used their paper planners for years and proved that to be 100% true. If you truly follow the FC methodology, you can really get your entire life under control. I don't understand why there isn't more Franklin Planner content on UA-cam. We might be ready for a paper planner Rennaissance. Everything is digital now...there's an app for everything. But I can see how beautiful stationery could make a comeback.
Are those pages at the beginning of your planner that say Activity & Evaluation Questions, etc. included in the blooms pack? Or was this a separate pack you bought?
Be aware that the Blooms didn't fit in my 6-ring A5 Van der Spek. They fit 7-ring planners. I didn't realise (duh) and have had to repunch all the day on two pages!!
I started with FC back in the 80's! lol- the ancient times your book came from. I've sat through FC training a number of times with various companies I worked for...they are the real deal. The original planner and planning. I used to switch between compact and classic. FC is the best.
I did too, right after college.
They are the best. Absolutely.
Me too
agree. Franklin is THE system, i remember when their store was jam-packed in the mall in the 80s :)
Me too! Back then you were either a Filo or a Franklin. I used to look so forward to picking up my new year packet in the “Seasons” style and browsing the brick and mortar.
‘Not just get things done. But get the right things done’. Wow. You spoke right to me.
Yaasss!!!
Amen!
That’s a quote from FC 😉

Thanks so much Janine! :) I agree with everything you're saying! It's so easy for everything to get lost without a system like this!!
Hi Janine. Thanks for becoming an FC teacher. I'm sure you impacted many lives. FC impacted my life back in the 90s. Still use their methodology today.
I LOVE the Franklin Planner system. I’m so glad you did this video. I’m happy to see them get more recognition. 💜
Thank you so much! It's definitely a game changer!
They do deserve more. I think they are the first to come up with one of the most efficient systems ever.

I started with Franklin Planners! They will always have a special place in my heart :-)
I have that book and have been using the franklin planning system for 20+ years. Love the day on 2 page and the structure. It works for me !
What is the name of the book?
Advanced Day Planner User's Guide
Is it better than GTD
I totally agree - I went thru the FC training back in the 90's and there is simply no other planner like it. They really know what they are doing. Enjoy your planner!
I’m so old school... I’ve had a Franklin since 1996. I have every planner still... in Franklin storage boxes. I’m glad you found them... because they are AWESOME! (Classic size here.)
I agree!! Thanks for watching!! ❤️
That’s so awesome! Thanks for sharing! This system seems timeless. ❤️
Yay! Thank you so much!! :) I hope you enjoy the class!
Hey Tasha! That’s so awesome! I’m glad you can apply it now! The book seemed so ancient, but as I read it, it totally inspired me! 🤗💗
Lol I had the same issue with purse sizes!! I finally had to own that while I am a small, cute purse personality, I’m living a Big purse life 🤣
Haha!! Yess! I love that!!
Haha, well put 😄
That’s me. I want to be a small purse but I am a big purse at heart!
aww thank you! Thanks for watching!!
I love “The Advanced Day Planner’s User Guide”!
I have been a Franklin Covey Planner user for over 20 years. I plan on getting some of the Teresa Collins ones and now using Notiq. I love Sophistication & Simplicity as my planner lifestyle. Thank you for sharing.
Yesss! I can’t wait for the collab!!
So, funny how some things never change. lol
I adore the bow stickers to mark the months off! I'm going to steal it!
Steal awayyy!! :)
You are so welcome!
Loved the video. I also have that book. It’s so packed with good info. I’m so excited to see another Franklin Planner Vlogger.
Yesss!!! Isn’t it!!?! So good! 😊 thanks for watching! Do you have videos on FP! I’m gonna go look! 👀
I used the Franklin planner for Sooo many years and went to the course. Totally awesome. Then it became Franklin Covery, went to the class again. It is a great system! I lived and used it for almost 2 decades.
That is awesome!
agree ... it has a structured layout for focusing into our goals. thank you for sharing.
Yay!! Thanks for watching! 👏🏾 Oh & please show me your ways! I definitely need a course on how to plan tiny and detailed! 🤗
That sounds like a great idea!
I literally went out and bought this book right after watching this video. 😂 It's been so inspirational and helpful. Thank you!!
I have been using franklin planner system for a few years now and i love the system. Just this year i started using happy planner which i also love. I do use franklin for my main catch all, there will no change in the foreseeable future.
Love it!
good video & smart thinking committing to one size...classic will be so useful for grad school. My summer planner is the FC pocket, stamped red leather zip-around.
Thanks so much! & I agree! I think it'll work well for all that I have coming up!
Thank you!! You are giving so much useful information! The essence of REAL planning! So many golden nuggets in this video. I didn’t even know you could switch out binder rings!🤯. Can’t wait for more updates!🙌🏾❤️📒
Can you share the links for those free online FC trainings?
Thanks so much for this video! I went to the FranklinCovey website and am doing the course right now! I am a planner nut from WAY back and have a collection of Filofaxes but for the last few years have been using the disc bound Happy Planner system-I love it because all the inserts are so cute and trendy and can be changed out so easily! I also like that they are available nearby so I can see them in person! Anyway, thanks for the recommendation of the course, I am using my Happy Planner and it is working great, and is really helping me focus!
That's so great!! :) Thanks for watching! I love that your planner is working so well!!! :D
really enjoyed this! very happy for you that you are in a system that's really working and will contitnue to work for you. you always remember your first Franklin LOL :) I loved their training back in the day, still have it in mind when i'm planning to this day.
Yay!! Thanks so much Sharon! :) Great minds do think alike! I just know you'll love some of the tips in that book!
PLEASE DO A REVIEW OF The Advanced Day Planner User's Guide. I think that it would help understand the importance of having a complete methodology.
Well, I had to subscribe to your channel because I have been using FC for a least 20 years. I needed a break from all of the decoration and stickers.
Thanks so much!! :) FC is tried and true!
I read the book as well and loved it. It loved that each page was brief and shared very insightful information and situations to apply the principle.
I have been using FC planners most of the time, since 2003. Love them.
I love your mom, she’s so thoughtful!❤️💕✨☺️👌🏽🔥👸🏽👸🏽
I absolutely love the FC system. Thanks for sharing! ❤️❤️❤️
Great video. Where do you get those multi colored stickers you have tucked away in the upper right hand corner of your Franklin planner?
Etsy!! ☺️
I'm so glad it was helpful! :) I hope you find the training useful!
Franklin Planner now has a free online training course:
shop.franklinplanner.com/mstore/certifications/index.jsp
I just bought FP based on your video.I used to use it years ago and find I now need more structure as well.I got the Ryder tan with 15% off code WELCOME
Awesome! I hope you like the Ryder!!
I’ve been using FC planners for years. I like structure, the system works for me. Lovely video.
Thank you!!
I love all planners but my favorites are Franklin, LV’s, Filofax, 365 create and Webster pages! O my I can go on 😊.
Yay!! So cool!! You will definitely find some good tips in that thing!! 👏🏾 thanks for watching!! 🤗
I've never seen anyone use this kind of planner until you posted it. I like it and the different styles of covers
🤗 yesss! I knew about FP for a while, but trying out this system has been new for me! It’s definitely a game changer!
Huh ! 😁
OMG...I didn’t know they still made these 😮
YESSS!
I have that same book, I love mine.
You’re using a Franklin Covey now!!! My fave!
Don’t want the FP system but that white zip around is calling my name! Let me go look at that!
Thank you so much!!!
HI, can you share which binder this is? I love how "snug" it looks and doesn't look oversized for the planner. Thank you!
Just tried the promo code and got a ‘no longer valid’... siiggghh...
The black rings are beautiful!
- How did you find out about those...? Are they listed somewhere in the FC site?
- And how much were they? (Gotta say, prices in USD are pretty painful for us up here in Canada!)
- PLEASE post the measurement of the inside diameter of those? Are they 1.25”? Or bigger?
I am so glad to know all it takes is an Allen wrench to change them out.
Now if only FC in North America would get on the bandwagon and offer insert packages in TOMOE RIVER PAPER (or similar)!! Do I hear an “AMEN”?
I’m so excited for the Teresa Collins collab! I think I want all three too!
Yasss! Planner twinning!
You plan on getting all of them???? smh! The struggles of a planner girl husband lol
Bahahaha! You weren’t supposed to hear that! Lol Love you babe 😘
MJPLANNER ...Uh ohhhh...BUSTED! 😬
Bahaha!!
I’m only buying one!! Definitely a 2021 Switch!🤞🏾
So I'm just curious would this work with a filofax?
I'm very new to the planning world so any advice would help. ☺️
Great video!
I love the franklin planner system so much, you could apply it to any planner! 👏🏾
@@Mjplanner1 thank you!! You're awesome!
Great info! How is the monarch compare to classic?
Idk! I've never tried the monarch! It seems so big!! lol
I’m waiting on my Cognac Anna and 1.5 inch rings. QUESTION: Did you have to install the black rings using new screws or the 1.25 inch screws from the rings that came with the planner? Thanks
New screws!! The new screws were also black!
I was just going to buy the pink moterm pocket planner then changed my mind. I was thinking Franklin covey but they dont fit other planners but their own. I love the system though. compact is wider than personal but may fit.
That’s very true! Their holes down line up, so sometimes I get unpunched half-letter inserts and it fits perfectly. 👌🏾
@@Mjplanner1 what do you mean? You can order the inserts unpunched? Franklin covey?
Oh! Sorry for the confusion! I mean, I still use my FP cover, but I have some inserts from other shops, and I purchase half-letter size!
Can you give me the info on the book? I’d love to purchase it.
Link is in the description!! :D
Just want to confirm: is the term “frankenplanner” or franklin planner?
From my understanding it’s frankenplanner because it’s taking pieces of different planners and combining them- like Frankenstein. ☺️
Franklin planner is a company that I'm referring to, and not Franken! I think you're right about the term Frankenplanner and what it means!
MJPLANNER thank you for clarifying ❤️
Hi there. You had mentioned in your video that to get the other colour rings you have to call a number? I really like the Anna planner but I’m a gold person not silver 😊
Oh!! Sorry! I forgot to put it in the description! The number is (888) 813-7482! Let them know you want gold! 😍
Great video, very inspiring!
Thank you Cheryl!
Thank you, MJPLANNER. Your response was very helpful!
Great looking planners😀
Thank you! 🤗
What was the course you took? I noticed they offer quite a few.
Are those pages at the beginning of your planner that say Activity & Evaluation Questions, etc. included in the blooms pack? Or was this a separate pack you bought?
I believe it was the starter pack!
@@Mjplanner1 thank you! :)
Great video and I ordered the book you mentioned 👍🏻 Also new sub here😀
Did you make those pretty pink dividers?
I didn't! They came in Franklin Planner's Blooms Starter pack!
Love this system!
Me tooo!!!
I have that book!❤
Be aware that the Blooms didn't fit in my 6-ring A5 Van der Spek. They fit 7-ring planners. I didn't realise (duh) and have had to repunch all the day on two pages!!
Yep! Classic size FC is always 7 rings! 👌🏾
What book is this? I need to try to get my hands on this one. I need to re-evaluate my life completely
Advanced Day Planner User's Guide by Hyrum Smith! I hear that! I hope that re-eval goes well!!!
I really want a Franklin planner but you can’t get them where I live 😭
Awwwww
Franklin Covey has a "compact" and "pocket" size not a "personal" size.
Please share the title of the book you referenced.
The advanced day planner user's guide by Hyrum Smith!
Is there any digital planner of FC?
Hi! Not that I know of! There might be a few similar on etsy!
Thanks for sharing 👍🏿🌸
Your nails look so cute!
Thank you!!
Where did you get the stickers on the left top corner ? In the clear plastic ?
Hey! My shop mjandhope.com! But I’m not selling stickers at the moment!
We miss you
Do you take your planner everywhere with you?
I miss your videos
What size are the black rings
1.5in I believe
I have to stop watching your videos. I just ordered a Filofax, like I haven't even received it yet, and I am like 🤔 Franklin Covey... LOL
