- Chapter 3 visiting Sri Nisargadatta's Center and meeting some of the old devotees and trustees.
In 2006 Stephen Wolinsky proposed the idea of traveling to India and filming Nisargadatta Mahara’s translators and disciples and explore what was the legacy Maharaj left behind in his hometown, Mumbai.
In 2007 Zaya and Maurizio Benazzo together with Stephen Wolinsky, Philip Safarik and Fred Good traveled to India to shoot this film.
The meeting with the old devotees was both illuminating as well as deeply touching.
Over the next seven and a half years, we all plugged away, going through mounds of material allowing this project to reach completion.
The film you are about to see cannot demonstrate the amount of work that went into this project….but let’s simply say that finally it is complete…J
Nisargadatta did not leave an ashram; he did not leave any teachings, nor successors. This movie is homage to him; a look at his unintended legacy from people that have been inspired by him more then words can express.

You can see so many who live in abject poverty, yet there is joy radiating in their faces... I lived in Bombay (Mumbai now) till i was 26 years old... I will never forget that phenomena.... It is so uniquely Indian. I am deeply appreciative of your fine depiction of the "Legacy of Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj".

Your work and explanations related to Nisargadatta Maharaj's teachings, were of a great help for me. I was so happy to see the house were this wonderful / special flower of humanity lived . Had I have had a good financial situation, I would definitely have come in India to pay my respects at Maharaj's feet. A man asks for his ashes to be put in the sea but instead a peculiar emotional outburst from perhaps a not yet enlightened devotee has the mans wishes ignored and instead takes his ashes elsewhere. come on brothers sort it out honour your teacher and leave the vegetable ghee alone.
