Haven't lost any so far this winter, but keeping Hive Alive fondant on them so hopefully they all make it. We're all packed and ready to head to NAHBE in the morning. It's only a 5-1/2 hr drive for us, so not too bad. Safe travels, and we'll see you there!
Happy New Year 🐍🎊🐝 checked my hives today and had one dead out, the other is going strong 💪🐝 safe travels to the show and hope all goes well for everyone attending.
Happy New year from southern New Zealand 👋😃 lol, we have the reverse problem in upsidedown land, the days are starting to get shorter😂 great summer though, plenty of forage and decent rain and heat which is really bringing on the nectar in wildflowers, boxes are filling up. Even came across a double queen colony yesterday in one of the hobbyists I help, im guessing a failed swarm the new queens about 6 weeks old and in the top brood super, the mature queen is in the bottom super, brood everywhere 😂had to split that colony in half right away😂 have a great time at the nahbe conference, im praying and hoping to attend the nahbe one next year👍👋
Thank you for sharing your thoughts & experience 🙏. Might I make a small quick(best part) suggestion that hopefully help solve the two problems your seeking to prevent: additional insulation and solving your bees migration to high..? Grab a paint strainer bag and fill it with cedar chips for your "lil hole" top insulated top feeder. My thought is it'll help.?! All my best friend 🙏 and a Very Happy New Year!!!
I think you have your fondant support (green ring seen at ab out 1:28 in the video) upside down. The prongs should go up to keep the bag more open as they eat the fondant. I modeled up something similar for my hives to be 3d printed on a resin printer. I emailed you the STLs I made to you gmail account.
Oh man, Rt71 south of Columbus was bad. Saw a truck wreck in front of me, had to drive up the grass median to get around another semi wrecked. Bad ice storm.
Enjoyed it Brian. Glad to see bees in all the hives. Happy New Year!
Happy New Year Bruce. . NAHBE has been great so far. . 1 more day. .
Happy New Year Brian. Hoping you can keep your hives all going. 👍🏻

Ya know the worst thing about NAHBE? having to drive through Ohio......LOL.... see ya at the show
LOL. .
I don’t believe you gain time it’s still 24 hours, but you do gain sunlight, which is more precious to a beekeeper. See you at the expo.
Yeah, its the sunlight that i'm looking at. .
