I would consider putting a lid on those clown killies because they are notorious jumpers.

You should get a galaxy koi beta for the sorority! They are super colorful. And you need a lot for that tank. They are called rocket killifish too, and it is partially because they will rocket right out of a tank that doesn’t have a lid!

@@louisebrouder9891 I've checked that already. That's for the sponge filter and the Oase filter. I'm specifically referring to the filter in THIS video. If you look at the timestamp of the video at 2:25, he puts in a small filter. That's the one I'm asking about. I have something similar but it broke in 3 months. So I wanted to know the specific one he purchased so that I may try it out for my own nano tank.

be careful of the internal filter. I had one in my small 7.5 gal tank and it was not powerful, but it still killed 4 of my clown killis. They seem to prefer slower water movement. I switched to a sponge filter because they were so hard to obtain.

Maybe try breeding otocinclus catfish they are so mistreated and are usually wild caught which is heavily reducing their wild population, it might be good to try

@NihlusGreen yess!! But it stresses them out a lot being shipped from far away, especially since they are a very hyper sensitive fish, so him breeding them and selling them to his local let store could help that

I wouldn’t recommend doing a betta sorority, 9/10 times it is a complete disaster and even if you get lucky it can be very stressful for the betta

@@gin1816 Even female bettas can be extremely aggressive and when they aren’t fighting they are stressed out expecting to be attacked
How large is your tank? I'm planning on getting these but wondering if say 4-6 would go in a planted 5 gallon/20litre. Cheapest I can find them in Australia is $16 each 😳
in Indonesia that fish only cost 0.5 dollars and its big size ✌ and becareful they can jump out of the tank, and they need cold water so its suit aquascape
I would recommend you choose something other than a Betta sorority for that tank, it generally doesn't end well and isn't really worth the risk. It can work but there are factors that you can't control that make it more than likely to end badly, and is usually unnecessarily stressful for the fish
If you wanna do it, go for it, but make sure you do lots of research and make sure you're aware of how difficult it can be to get it to work
i would rather pay extra for shipping for the fish or inverts to arrive faster
I always find it interesting what is common or uncommon in fish stores. In my area, every store has clown killifish in stock a good amount of the time. However, they never have Medaka Rice Fish... I finally found some though, so I know the 'finally found the fish feeling'.

Love how you’re including the outer area around the Betta sorority, plants curling over. The beauty of the tank (even dry hard scape) is so wonderfully framed. 😊
These are amazing fish! I have a species only tank of them right now in a 20 long. They are already starting to breed.
I use the same substrate for my planted aquarium it was only planted 2 hours ago but I love it. It looks miles better than when I had fake decor in the tank

You ever consider setting up a reef tank? Its definitely much harder and you need to be more attentive, but youre a patient dude who always waits proper times to ensure perfection, i think youd do great with it. Of course small reef tanks are much harder than large tho, so these tank sizes are a bit small for a reef. I love my reef, you can fit alot more individual life inside them, and some of the creatures are amazing. I have both fresh & salt tanks, and the reefs add so much variety

Loving the killifish videos, I'm going to be getting a pair of steel blue ones, unfortunately they are young ones, need to take a proper look when I go into Maidenhead aquatics. Been lucky to find some. As I do not think it's kind to ship fish, especially in this British weather. Anyway keep up the awesome work

I would say you have at least two males at this point. Also I will echo everyone else that has said they are huge jumpers. I also have three pairs of them. You are for sure going to want a tight fitting lid. If there are any gaps they will find it and out they go.
With clams they have a big tongue which they use to dig under the sand to bury themselves or to move to new areas for feeding.

I've had really good success with putting floating plants in. They seem to stay in place when they have something to hangout in.

Female betta tank is a great idea. I've currently got one and so far it's going perfect. New to the live plants so struggled a lil bet at first but it's going great now!
My rockets are not breeding but I have kept them alive for a while. Very small mouths. Live baby brine. Very very Small floating foods. Yours are small fish they may take time to grow before breeding? Good luck
Loaches grow really old ._. Mine are over 12 years old and they won't die. I keep letting alge take over until I can't see through the glass and then I take 10-20 Liters out like once a month...seems like I'm not caring badly for them because otherwhise they wouldn't keep living so long
They're too young still. You'll definitely know the males when they mature.
Clams suck in all the micro organisms in the water and then filter the water they've sucked up - pretty sure they can filter 50L a day (well wild freshwater river clams can) so the opening and closing would be from the clam letting out all the water it's filtered (which will be 100% pure water). They have a tiny 'foot' that looks like a tongue or a slug, that they use to move around. They are the life force of their habitat. Remarkable creatures.

Just bought my first pair of clowns i had to lower the water line of my 15flex because the female jumped into the back chamber but i modified it now they cant jump back there...
How long do Clown/Rocket Killifish take to mature and show their full colors? Is the reflective dot behind/above the eyes also an indication that it's a male?
Please differ between scaping and acclimatizing new fish. This is one of the worst examples I have seen when it comes to acclimatizing new fish. Please have a mature tank with good water parameters and put the fish there. Very nice fish and they deserve better. Sorry to say, but that is what I see.
I have kept them many times and also bred them many times. There are many colormorphs, some are basically impossible to breed, others are really easy. Please treat them better.

You have to remove the pot from The plants before u place them in the Aquarium. This are Bad substance for fish.
Jittery & very teritorial litle fish .. seems always had bad mood with everything in the tank ..
When my kuhli loaches start their weired dance the killis join them and act exactly the same. I think it might be due to the similar colors they have.
