I think Wendy it's not a main vocalist in rv, Seulgi have the most of lines, and Wendy are in second in all of rv line distribuition, Psycho it's so suposed to be a Wendy era, but, now she can't promove..
And Yeri, she's deserve more lines too, i love she voice, a soft voice, i think she voice fit in Psycho, but SM never give more than 10 seconds of a line for Yeri.
being the main vocalist doesn't mean they have to get the most lines. the main vocalist is the better singer (obviously), so they get the harder parts. the person who suits the song best should come first.

Am I the only one who understands why the line distribution is like this? Psycho is definitely one of RV's more vocally challenging title tracks, and that is the reason why Seulgi and Wendy has more lines (plus almost half of their lines are adlibs). I personally wanted Wendy to have more lines but it is alright since Seulgi definitely slayed her lines tho. Joy is a great vocalist as well but definitely not better than the two that is why she is in 3rd. Irene and Yeri are decent vocalists hence making them 4th and 5th.

I didn’t notice any discrepancy in the line distribution, because I think the song is perfect as it is. Every line of this song is delivered so perfectly by each member. Yeri’s lower register “we’ll be okay” during the final chorus is so powerful, every time I hear that chorus I immediately think of her. I don’t think she was done a disservice, not everything is about the number of seconds of lines in a song. It’s about impact, and every member has left an impact on me.
People seems to forget that Psycho is purely vocal-based song. That means ofc Joy, Wendy and Seulgi have way more lines (and adlibs) since Yeri and Irene are more into rap part and there were few rap parts. Don't hate on this masterpiece when you can clearly hear that all the song is vocally attractive, you could remove the rap part from Yeri (Which can be mistaken as a vocal part) and the music will still feel like a vocal song. So don't expect rappers of the group being top 3 when it's a vocal-challenging song. Thanks you and no hate intended ! (:

Honestly, this song is a bit emotional and the constructions of lines are for vocalist. Its just my view as I compose some music.
More information: Actually even though the line distribution is unfair, it is still so good to hear with everything on it. Like the back up voices, wendy and seulgi's pre chorus, yeri and irenes quick rap, and joys killing whispering voice. All of it are a masterpiece of this song, and I love how they are all stable❤

So tired of revuluvs. Yeri could literally sing for 1 second and 3/4 of the fandom would defend the distribution (just look at automatic, girl got less than a tenth of wendy). It doesn't matter if something is iconic Yeri could literally leave half way through of any performance and it wouldn't even matter. Psycho line distribution would be fine if she was first in centre or screen or promotions but she's always last in everything. Even revuluvs treat Yeri like a random girl off the street or a backup dancer that's lucky to be featured in an ot4 song and it's tiring.

The main vocalist doesn’t come in first all the time. The position of main vocalist doesn’t even mean they get the most lines, just they are the best singer technique wise (who’s tone is better is subjective) and get the most challenging vocal parts. Plus Wendy came in first on every other track on the album, and is only second by like 5 seconds.

So basically, in most of Red Velvet's songs, the order is:
1. Seulgi (she's the most stable live I think)
2. Wendy (The Main Vocalist)
3. Joy (The Best Singer of the Rap line)
4. Irene (The Main Rapper)
5. Yeri (My Poor Bias who doesn't have a main role)
Sad how only 3/5 of the members have a main role. Most of them being given to Irene for some reason (She's the Leader, Main Rapper, Visual & Center)
The roles should change.
1. Joy should become a Lead Vocalist and be just a Rapper
2. Yeri should become the new Lead Rapper as she raps more than Joy and is overall a better rapper.
i understand where this is coming from but like how a lot of comments have been saying, it makes sense in this song. this is pretty vocally challenging for irene and yeri who aren't the best vocalist (not saying they're bad). i agree with the positions though.

I get what u r tryna say but they can't exactly give Yeri more lines coz she's neither a main nor lead vocalist . Irene's is the center so it makes sense for her to get the intro . And the prechorus is too hard too , ( I'm not saying she can't but it may be a bit difficult) so obviously only Seulgi and Wendy can sing it , which takes most of the time . And then , Joy is also the lead vocalist so only a few lines will be left for Yeri n Irene ( and Irene , obviously will be given more lines than Yeri) As this is a vocal based song , the rap part will be very less and so she will get the least lines .
Most of the distribution are done according to their positions , so it makes sense for her to receive the least lines ( tho it doesn't mean that we , as her fans wish for it).
And most of Seulgi and Wendy's lines are adlibs , if u don't count it , it'll be a lot more fairer ( just like Bad boy)
The only way for Yeri to have more than that is for RV to have a heavy Rap-based song but it isn't in SM GG dictionary .

*LINE DISTRIBUTIONS DONT REALLY MATTER* until the people in the group are given enough screen time, aren't treated like background dancers and have more than 2 lines to sing.
