Here we go again. Gidle's line distributions are pretty predictable, especially these past few comebacks. Miyeon and Yuqi end up sharing the pre-chorus/ chorus and Shuhua ends up getting a small part of the 2nd verse. I love the songs but there's no variety here.

Plus the beat of her part for both Lion and OMG are the exact same except she goes higher or lower in some parts and vise versa.

all of idle’s comebacks are centred around one member so yes it’s inevitable some members will get less lines but i’ve seen far far worse than this distribution. guessing by the amount of lines this is minnie’s era, the other girls will get their time to shine too, soyeon writes all their music this album was completed produced and wrote by her and her only which is such a huge accomplishment for the girls & there’s gonna be certain songs which suit different members. shuhua has got a lot more lines recently and you can tell her confidence is growing a lot more but you have to give them credit for having what i call a fair distribution because if you look at other groups such as everglow or ateez there are members who barely get 5 seconds of lines so let’s focus on the positives because they will all have their time!
Splash Pink yeah but she literally doesn’t have a special part that is only sang by her. I’ll accept if her 2nd part has a more challenging/higher note change so we can distinguish Lead Vocal Yuqi’s line to Main Vocal Miyeon’s line.
I think they could have given “oh my god, she took me to the sky” and “oh my god, she showed me all the stars” to the other members. Especially yuqi would pull it off well with her deep voice.

I feel like miyeon, yuqi, shuhua will always be near the bottom three unless Soyeon composes a vocal-based title track with less rap included. they such different vocal colours that it's just hard to compose a song that will sound amazing with all their voices with a really fair line distribution

That was my confusion with that argument; Yuqi is actually perfect for this comeback with her lower register and yet they pushed her to the side, like they always seem to. And it's not hard to make more songs that fit everyone's vocals, other idol groups can do it, why not G-idle?

I also notices. It pretty much had the same structure as Lion. I believe that Minnie also opened that song followed by Soyeon. Yuqi and Miyeon also sung the pre chorus while the chorus was sung by Soyeon\Minnie\Soojin (well Shuhua got a a curious verse as well at least) but the order and everything just feels extremely repetitive. It is already bad enough that almost always the members get the same amount of lines, so at least mix up the order.

I think she’s given her own part (like in Lion) because Soyeon couldn’t find other parts in the song she could sing; as if they just threw her lines in there, if that makes sense lol. There are also enough “Oh My God’s” in the song where each member could sing that part once, but yet Soyeon has nearly half of those to herself. Don’t get me wrong, Soyeon is a musical genius and G-IDLE is one of the best groups this generation but, the lines could be more evenly distributed.

I love Minnie's voice but is so unfair how Miyeon (a main vocalist) and Yuqi (a lead vocalist) are getting less lines each comeback. I know a lot of people will say "it's just one song" or "the producer gives the lines to the person that suits them more" but no; Miyeon and Yuqi were mistreated in the whole album and I refuse to believe that they weren't capable of singing part of the chorus or some ad-libs.

Bella Law shuhua isn’t fully confident in singing in korean and being in the spotlight on stage yet. she’s getting their, as you see her lines becoming more and more through their comebacks. i hope she can be confident enough to sing more lines soon. we just have to let it go and make her comfortable to have any lines she wants or feels comfortable with having.

Gonna get lots of hate for this but imma be bitterly frank: Im tired of seeing Soyeon getting unnecessarily too many lines when this was clearly a vocal song. Miyeon suits this concept well and so does Yuqi and yet they get like Bread Crumbs of the song. Lion had a better line distribution than this song. I have learned classical singing for twelve years and I made that comment understanding fully well who that verse suits and who it doesn't. It is easy to sing and suits Miyeon's heavy texture and Yuqi's husky one. Miyeon can go falsetto like Soyeon did and Yuqi can also sing the second part of the verse. Edit 2: y'all stop comparing them to BTS. BTS has a better reasoning for the line distributions and unfortunately, their older songs COULDN'T suit Jin's voice (excep: Just One Day, I Like It). I'm no music expert but anyone who pays attention knows that most of their songs are produced by the same person. There's a reason why companies switch up their musical engineers and hire different producers for each new concept. I love this group but it's getting pretty old now. CUBE needs to invest more in the production of their music. It's obvious that although Soyeon is talented, she's limited in the variety of music composition. And it really showed in their last 3-4 comebacks.

Oof so this is my theory: Soojin represents the Devil while Miyeon represents a goddess. At one point, Miyeon had all these angels (Soyeon, Yuqi, Shuhua) under her to help her keep the world pure. Minnie is a human who is pure and good and follows Miyeon. Soojin wants Miyeon to fall, so she fills Soyeon with the sins of Pride and Wrath to cause her to become a fallen angel. Once she's fallen, Soojin tempts her to bring the other angels and Minnie to her. Soyeon takes Yuqi to the hallway between Heaven and Hell. She shows Soojin to Yuqi, and Yuqi is tempted by Soojin's beauty to follow her. She is filled with Envy and Greed towards Miyeon and then proceeds to become a fallen angel along with Soyeon. Soyeon moves to Shuhua next, knowing this is the last thing Miyeon needs to stand. She traps her in the barbed wire, like how Soojin trapped her once. It will hurt Shuhua, but shes shows her that if she follows Soojin, nothing can hurt her (this is shown when she licks the barbed wire without feeling pain.) Soojin comes to release Shuhua and fills her with the sins of Lust and Gluttony, causing her to lose her pureness and fail Miyeon. Knowing her angels have failed her and she's lost to Soojin, Miyeon drops her wine glass to the sinners that are below her. Soyeon goes to her final victim, Minnie, to tempt her into Hell. She attempts to fill her with the sins that Soojin filled her with but has trouble doing so because Minnie is a human with a pure heart. Soyeon tries to show Minnie how fun it is to sin by bringing her into the white room. That's why main and lead designations are dumb. Take mamamoo for example, they're trying to prove that these designations are worthless by not having them in the first place, even though there's a vocal skill/versatility hierarchy (wheein > solar> hwasa > moonbyul). No one is fighting and the line distributions are the best as a result. Maybe the rest of the groups should follow suit so people won't have these useless, petty arguments. Minnie sings all the main vocalist type part and gets the chorus too. And i feel like soyeon doesn’t need that many vocal parts since she gets a full rap verse too. Her vocal parts could easily be given to yuqi or miyeon. Soojin and shuhua’s parts are fine but i’m loosing hope that we will ever get to see main vocalist miyeon again.

That is what I'm trying to say. Every verse of every member made catchy to ears. Those who are complaining are probably a solo stan. C'mon, Soyeon made this for the members, for us Nevies. Watch the intro and the outro those 2 parts are the majority of Minnie lines and no one in g-idle can do them as good as her. As for Miyeon she could probably get some lines from Soyeon and that's probably it. Maybe she will get more next comeback.

It's not only about group positions. There are more than group positions. Oh My God is a storyline based song and MV, ("chronologically" this is so important for the MV and the storyline so who will sing in which order is very important too) not a typical song or MV that you'll see. So for a song like Oh My god: It's also about whose "voice" would fit into which part, whose "vibe" would fit into which part, stage presence, who would fit which role in the storyline (for example we all know that Soojin has a sexy vibe and a sexy voice so she had the role that seducing sexy demon; or I think we all agree that Miyoen has innocent and pure looking, she litearally looks like goddes in the mv and it fits her so much etc.) ALSO They million times said that everyone choses what part they wanna sing. Here we go again. Gidle's line distributions are pretty predictable, especially these past few comebacks. Miyeon and Yuqi end up sharing the pre-chorus/ chorus and Shuhua ends up getting a small part of the 2nd verse. I love the songs but there's no variety here.

all of idle’s comebacks are centred around one member so yes it’s inevitable some members will get less lines but i’ve seen far far worse than this distribution. guessing by the amount of lines this is minnie’s era, the other girls will get their time to shine too, soyeon writes all their music this album was completed produced and wrote by her and her only which is such a huge accomplishment for the girls & there’s gonna be certain songs which suit different members. shuhua has got a lot more lines recently and you can tell her confidence is growing a lot more but you have to give them credit for having what i call a fair distribution because if you look at other groups such as everglow or ateez there are members who barely get 5 seconds of lines so let’s focus on the positives because they will all have their time!

Yuqi and Miyeon also sung the pre chorus while the chorus was sung by Soyeon\Minnie\Soojin (well Shuhua got a a curious verse as well at least) but the order and everything just feels extremely repetitive. It is already bad enough that almost always the members get the same amount of lines, so at least mix up the order.

I agree. Shuhua seems pretty confident and bubbly when she speaks Korean so I don’t think that argument is as valid anymore. I think she’s given her own part (like in Lion) because Soyeon couldn’t find other parts in the song she could sing; as if they just threw her lines in there, if that makes sense lol. There are also enough “Oh My God’s” in the song where each member could sing that part once, but yet Soyeon has nearly half of those to herself. In my honest opinion, Soyeon's vocal parts should just be distributed to the other vocalists. But I understand why she have those lines, it's because it suits her the best and probably the flow of the song is how they wanted it to be. Don't blame anyone. I'm sure they are glad in what they have. They are happy they got a chance to comeback for us again.

Im tired of seeing Soyeon getting unnecessarily too many lines when this was clearly a vocal song. Miyeon suits this concept well and so does Yuqi and yet they get like Bread Crumbs of the song. Lion had a better line distribution than this song.

I have learned classical singing for twelve years and I made that comment understanding fully well who that verse suits and who it doesn't. It is easy to sing and suits Miyeon's heavy texture and Yuqi's husky one. Miyeon can go falsetto like Soyeon did and Yuqi can also sing the second part of the verse.
Edit 2: y'all stop comparing them to BTS. BTS has a better reasoning for the line distributions and unfortunately, their older songs COULDN'T suit Jin's voice (excep: Just One Day, I Like It). It was from the In the Mood to Love when they started to become more vocal-oriented.

I'm no music expert but anyone who pays attention knows that most of their songs are produced by the same person. There's a reason why companies switch up their musical engineers and hire different producers for each new concept. I love this group but it's getting pretty old now. CUBE needs to invest more in the production of their music. It's obvious that although Soyeon is talented, she's limited in the variety of music composition. And it really showed in their last 3-4 comebacks.

Oof so this is my theory:
Soojin represents the Devil while Miyeon represents a goddess. At one point, Miyeon had all these angels (Soyeon, Yuqi, Shuhua) under her to help her keep the world pure. Minnie is a human who is pure and good and follows Miyeon. Soojin wants Miyeon to fall, so she fills Soyeon with the sins of Pride and Wrath to cause her to become a fallen angel. Once she's fallen, Soojin tempts her to bring the other angels and Minnie to her.
Soyeon takes Yuqi to the hallway between Heaven and Hell. She shows Soojin to Yuqi, and Yuqi is tempted by Soojin's beauty to follow her. She is filled with Envy and Greed towards Miyeon and then proceeds to become a fallen angel along with Soyeon. Soyeon moves to Shuhua next, knowing this is the last thing Miyeon needs to stand. She traps her in the barbed wire, like how Soojin trapped her once. It will hurt Shuhua, but shes shows her that if she follows Soojin, nothing can hurt her (this is shown when she licks the barbed wire without feeling pain.) Soojin comes to release Shuhua and fills her with the sins of Lust and Gluttony, causing her to lose her pureness and fail Miyeon. Knowing her angels have failed her and she's lost to Soojin, Miyeon drops her wine glass to the sinners that are below her.
Soyeon goes to her final victim, Minnie, to tempt her into Hell. She attempts to fill her with the sins that Soojin filled her with but has trouble doing so because Minnie is a human with a pure heart. Soyeon tries to show Minnie how fun it is to sin by bringing her into the white room. She shows her how boring a white room is and then colors it black; symbolizing that purity is boring and sin makes life more fun. Minnie knows it's wrong, but the sin of Sloth causes her to be lazy and lets herself be dragged into hell.

Ok, but i am super mad right now. I don’t even know whose the main vocalist anymore. Is it miyeon, minnie or soyeon. Miyeon never got proper lines or high notes since senorita era. Minnie sings all the main vocalist type part and gets the chorus too. And i feel like soyeon doesn’t need that many vocal parts since she gets a full rap verse too. Her vocal parts could easily be given to yuqi or miyeon. Soojin and shuhua’s parts are fine but i’m loosing hope that we will ever get to see main vocalist miyeon again.

Oh My God is a storyline based song and MV, ("chronologically" this is so important for the MV and the storyline so who will sing in which order is very important too) not a typical song or MV that you'll see. So for a song like Oh My god: It's also about whose "voice" would fit into which part, whose "vibe" would fit into which part, stage presence, who would fit which role in the storyline (for example we all know that Soojin has a sexy vibe and a sexy voice so she had the role that seducing sexy demon; or I think we all agree that Miyoen has innocent and pure looking, she litearally looks like goddes in the mv and it fits her so much etc.) ALSO They million times said that everyone choses what part they wanna sing. I think the line distribution in this song was clearly a bit unfair but check out some of the other ones. Most of the other ones are divided pretty equally or just a few seconds apart.
