Wow, this is super helpful. Thanks Prism! I have the 100' Pro kit. Any idea if this setup would work: 1 light strand -> 50' extension (maybe 12' govee + 34' homemade + 4' govee) > 3 light strands. Thats 116' total (and I'm not even using 2 of the included light strands).
What is wire that you used to make your home made extension. Is there a link possible for home depot or amazon? Great video...I will be doing this for sure. Thank you
Search for MaxBrite LED wire on Amazon. We recommend using UL listed wire outdoor wire. There is actually a difference between wires, for some reason we had flickering with some and not with others.
Awesome video. Saw your comment on Reddit and had to check the video out. I'm about to add around 35' extension between strands. I'm going to use the 12' govee pro extension, then add a homemade 22' extension, hoping it will work. Any tips?
@@PrismOutdoorLightingCo.yes, it worked out perfect! I didn't have to do a long homemade extension after all since the 200 ft kit came with 2 12-foot and 4 4-foot extensions. I used 2 for the 4 footers for an extension early on the run, then used the other 2 12-footers + 2 4-footers + 7ft homemade (placed between the govee extensions) and it worked flawless. Thanks for your excellent video.
Will this work for the outdoors 2? I have half a strand then a 10ft honemade extension the other half of the strand and the second strand connected to it 2 lights come on and the 3rd flickers and the rest dont come on, thinking maybe this could help. Adding those resistors?
Yes, it's the same idea with all types of addressable lights. You'll need to get your hands on extra extensions for the Govee 2 or the Elites to do this
@PrismOutdoorLightingCo. i have extra extensions. Can I place the resistor before the flickering light? Or does it have to be right before or after the homemade extension
Great video. Immediately fixed our neighbors issue with his Govee Pro Lights as we were trying to troubleshoot.

Hope it worked out for you. If you have two Govee extensions I'd add one at the start and one at the end of your homemade one if you have any issues.
