Great video, thank you - Looking forward to checking this out!
That Vox was beautiful
I dig it. Lots of options and some cool stuff to start with. I'd like to see where the subscription model goes. If i'm getting new amps and effects monthly it isn't a bad idea. Id love to see some Diezel or Monomyth style stuff. Free trial is way worth it for just messing around.
Will be trying this as soon as a i get home
I’m gonna get the subscription tonight but can you do pitch changes for easy down tuning? If so, how does it hold up?
I'd been pondering getting the ml5 from amped, but this is interesting and the whole thing about amps getting better over time is true. It's basically one amp vs 5 month sub. Wish sub was more like $5, but it's not badly priced I guess
I could for hours on the orange and vox I'm looking forward to randall and Peavy amps.
hi what's the difference between and tonehub? and which is better?
Just downloaded the free trial 👌
here's the real question. when you mix 2 amps together on a single take, do they phase? literally no plugin i've tried, and i really have tried most of them, have horrible phasing issues that you can't get rid of when you try to blend them. i just want the daylight dies tone without spending 5k on amps and cabs.
you can get that type of tone, they blend well if you take volume of second amp down. I would use the framous cobra and some ENGL amp they added this month or the Ignite amp, that one is really similar to 6505 kind of tone.
I wanna get this just for the Framus dragon! And the cobra! Im pretty sure there isnt any digital version of thos amps anywhere!
Hey Fluff, which ampsim does more justice to the Recto...Tonehub (Mega Dual Rec package) or Amphub? Honest opinion please...thanks, dude!
hey man, I think amplitube has the best Mesa sims personally. check out Ola Englund video on the amplitube Mesa library. they're pretty spot on
@@mrhamburgler480 - got Amplitube and also the Recto alongside others. Amplitube was good...at their time.
@@MatthiasBuesing I would say the amphub is better with tonehub it is more like kemper, you cant really change the way it reacts, with amphub, it is more like fractal, more of a moddeling type of sound, you can change the way it reacts
Hey Fluff what mic are using for the voice over in this video?
Neumann TLM 102
Tonehub has a Framus cobra. I really hope they add an Archon. Im wondering if we can turn the cab off or load our own.
You can turn off the cab and use any other you already have!
between the roots 5034 amp and the ignite emissary, I'm quite happy not owning a physical amp, I hope to check out this stuff too in the future
You would need to go to some of the better real amps for that type of gain. A modded Peavey XXL or an Engl Savage, maybe? And when you go to do gigs with a real Amps, you would notice the difference. But for recording and playing at home, those plugins do a great job and it’s amazing they are free.
The subscription system makes sense, I don't mind that at all. The major drawback of it for me is that, contrary to Neural DSP's and ML Sound Lab's plugins, it doesn't have a standalone version.
It does, AU, VST, VST3, AAX and Standalone
@@federicoberti3915 Ah, ok, thanks for letting me know. I'm intrigued.
Any MIDI control option for live?
It sounds so fking co.....digital. Like a boss metal zone.
Totally agree.
was going to upgrade from amplitube 4 but never fucking mind Lol
I mean, I used to play NTS by Neural DSP and with right cabinet combination and amp, you can get great sound, equal to the neural stuff in my opinion. But yes, with first verzion it sounded bit harsh, since they added ENGL amp and changed some stuff, it sounds really good! On level with my axe fx ultra
Are you talking about how it sounds in this video? UA-cam audio sucks.
Is any of this midi footswitchable?
Hello! The New version of the amphub, i cant use as a vst, can anybody send me an older installer version?
Is it possible to subscribe temporarily only when I need?
This sounds killer, I wonder if it‘ll ever be used live at any point.
People already use them live
@@randyeppytThis UA-camr using a neural JP plugin for “live” demonstration and there was silence between switching patches. 🤦♂️ I guess I’m stuck with hardware live.
@@ArtGuitarLTX bro even my amp has silence between switching presets. It’s not noticeable in a live setting
Will there be a pitch shifter?
My Amp hub won't load into my DAW for some reason can anyone help?
Nearly all want neuraldsp. Well, when you want to sound like everybody go for it
XTC stands for Xotic pedals, not ecstacy.
Downloaded the trial, tried getting it to load and it doesn’t run in Reaper 64 bit, says it crashed and run it again, still doesn’t work.
I could never get the ignite emissary to run in reaper either. Sad. This looks really interesting, although I'm super happy with the nameless and nolly suites.
Same problem here but in Cubase
Why do all of the gain amps sound like a cocked wah? My Orange Rockerverb sounds nothing like that version.
Yeah I've noticed that with a lot of the mixes lately. The cocked wah sound.
Use your Orange with the IR from this software and it'll most likely have the same sound.
Recorded tone is highly dependent on mic+cab
It’s his Fishman’s. The peak frequency is 750hz and they do have a sort of weird cocked wah sound when in active mode. Watch Rob Chapman’s vid, EMG vs Fishman vs Seymour Duncan
Zach O'Hara Yeah see that’s what I thought but I didn’t want to chalk it up to that because I played some and they sounded great but yeah that does make a lot of sense.
Fluff is to blame, his guitar sound us always bad.
In your opinion: this worth it vs a Neural DSP plugin?
I personally like the variety of the AmpHub more. But that’s personal preference.
@@RiffsAndBeards and the realism...?
@@RubenParolla - in terms of realism Neural DSP is very, very hard to beat. At least to my ears ;-)
I’m also curious about the realism of the distortion character.
@@DerSilvano - I strongly agree with that!
What's the difference between STL Amphub 2 channel Dual Rectifier and your sig Amped Roots Rev F 2ch Dual Rectifier? Beside that your model is friendly with CPU compared to STL version for old laptop/PCs. Not sure what revision they modelled it after, but would like to hear a comparison from you.
tonelib better cheaper then all above
so early that video was uploaded 10 seconds ago.
Ive had SOOOOO many issues with Reaper and getting it to work, and now it quit working fully. The fact that they have a DAW built in and so many amps, that makes this very interesting
damn that voice over is so boomy
this wasent the best demo for stl amp hub
i use it and love it and it sounds killer !
you need to tweak some knobs like a real amp
Wow
Now I can't decide between this and the Neural DSP stuff
...go Neural! They are hard to beat.
Honestly - Neural, ToneHub and ML SoundLab are all good in their own ways. I don't think any of them are a bad choice.
Neural Plini and the Amped ML5 are my current go-to's.
@@MatthiasBuesing yeah I will surely buy something from neural dsp but I will keep my eyes open to stl anyway, I'm curious
This seems to be super awesome but just remember its a monthly fee whereas DSP is a one time buy.
Whatever choice you make rmember Neural DSP frequently have deals on couponbirds.com right now they have 30% off order with a plini code. I'm going to try out AmpHub for a bit but either way being able to get Fortin Cali for €70 seems pretty hard to beat.
But, does it have a Blue Voodoo?
Why do people hate on that amp?
The Emissary sounds digital, but in a cool way.
Everyone who does reviews continues to overlook the pedals and FX areas. There are 4 slots for each, not 3. You just have to scroll to see the 4th.
This whole video sounds like a advert.
2:03 Sleepwalking tone of Parkway Drive? hahaha
Honestly not a bad sound at all. The subscription model makes total sense to. IK Multimedia better figure that out quick before STL Takes over the top spot. Also the fact that you played Thrice in for your clean test tone on the clean was amazing.
Unfortunately IK Multimedia seems to stop further development. In their time Amplitube was pretty good and I like the approach of offering official licensed products and selling objects individually.
It may be in my head, but to my ears this doesn’t sound nearly as good as the neural stuff. Something in the high end that sounds...too digital. Loved the interface though.
I agree. But dude, the UI has been copied almost identical from the Neural DSP stuff. One more reason to stick to the original but I really hope that this "hub thing" is something that Neural DSP will offer too....
@@MatthiasBuesing Good shout, I would love if Neural gave me the ability to swap between my different plug ins though. You can technically do it with multiple instances of the plugin (I.E Using Plini delay with the Cali suite) but I hope one day they come out with a hub type deal. I would be on board with the Quad-Cortex if they had a rack mount version... Maybe one day!
@@AlexMartiniGuitar - I think they are working on it ;-)
You should check out the demo of
Keyan Houshmand it sounds way better than this
Alex Martini Me too, I just don’t want a subscription model. I don’t rent my amps ... I don’t want to rent my amp sims or software either.
I'm gonna wait until there are a few more amps to choose from
Im not a big fan of the subscription model for plugs. To each their own, but, ehhh.... Nah, no thanks.
Yeah me too. One time payment is the way to go for me.
I kinda feel the same way... you can buy the models for $40 per unit and I think $10 per pedal.
I was doing the math and if you keep the subscription going for the next 5 years you’ll have paid $600.
I think you can cancel at any time, which may not be a bad idea, if you can also pick back up.
Wonder if I could not use it until I am ready to reamp my finished project? Then I could pay $10 for that month and reamp for all of my projects and cancel til I am ready to release more. So like $30 per year vs$120
@@shawnmiles4049 Who uses the same amp sim for 5 years? 2 months from now, a new "big deal" will come in the amp sim world, and if you only pay 20 bucks for 2 months, then it's a great deal.
Or be like FLstudio one time payment and STILL updates for life.
It's great though for if I don't want to commit to one yet, I find the average 7/14 day free trial not long enough for me to decide as I only really have time to sit down and play properly a day or 2 a week.
I stopped buying amp sim plugins after i got the Mecurial Reaxis
another tonelib for way to much cash flow compared
I don't know why all of the people who constantly dial in this repetitive metal sound do not hear the plastic open Wah sound.
All these sound way too similar. Needs some fuzz. I’d be interested to see what gets added.
you can get fuzzy type of tone with integrated pre-amp, I even managed to get HM2 (at the gates) type of tone
Is this standalone?
yes, standalone, VST, VST3, AU and AAX.
I still prefer Neural DSP's stuff - by far \m/
Only cause you paid for that QC I assume ❄️
@@NikosPage I don’t have QC🤷🏻

This subscription system is more likely due to the fact that their critical mass of ToneHub packs probably didn't sell for shit.
Unfortunately it sounds very digital.
Nope nope nope. I’m out. Too many options. I’ll stick to my Orange OR15 and 4x12. Plug it in, turn it on... and go. 😬
a guy could get lost in this
I downloaded AmpHub...the $10 monthly plan. It worked for 3 days, and now it says it's not activated....they never even sent me a code, so why did it work for 3 days in the first place?
I don´t like subscrition base-
hi
Too much candy.
Hai
Man this is horrible compared to Neural...
Amp Sims suck ass. It's can take F-O-R-E-V-E-R just to get them to work. Nobody warns you about this. It's a total pain in the ass. I've been trying to get STL Tones to work for almost a week now. It sucks so much shitty ass that I can't even stand it anymore. Fucking sucks.
Another distortion, overdrive over-processed crap. How about some clean tones? One ? Thats it?
What is the point of essentially putting what sounds like an open Wah pedal in front of an amp model? If these Amps cannot sound good without a crap pedal in front what's the point
