Hi Aaron I have been looking for something like this for a long time. It’s so frustrating learning trumpet most of the beginner jazz trumpet videos are way above a beginner level. It’s nice to actually be able to play along.
Thank you for letting me know because I'm make these videos with you in mind. I've been hearing this struggle from my other subs and students for awhile.
I agree! Love all your content and I am just beginning trumpet at 37 years old with a decent musical background but your vids have helped a lot to understand how to play and things to think about. Thank you my friend 🙏🏼
@@TheBlackTrumpeter Thanks for making these videos. Being able to play jazz songs that are actually nice and good and possible for an early beginner is very motivating
I've played Alto Sax for 10 years and trumpet for 3. I'm still doing my best to work the trumpet during solos, and these videos are really fun to follow. Thank you for producing them!
Just started learning the trumpet! its so fun to play, and little shorts like this give me the motivation to keep trying to coax notes put off this sly little brass beast
Just be sure to note this is transposed names. The "A" here is actually sounding out as a concert "G". Tenor Sax and Trumpet are transposing instruments and they use note names a whole step higher than the sound put out while playing.
Im not a trumpet player but i wanted to say, you have such impeccable tone and to capture that on digital video mustve been challenging. ❤ i love your posts
Thank you so much for doing this. My grand daughter started playing trumpet in May. She has struggled because school let out in June & the music teacher must have seen something as she has loaned her the trumpet for summer. She is now practicing everyday along with your videos.
@@TheBlackTrumpeter hi ! I'm an amateur guitar player with a pedal loop. On the video, instead of reading the partition, I can follow what to play with the numbers : "ok, 1, then 2+3, then 1 again...etc" i do not read sheets so this is fabulous for someone who just want to pick up the instrument and wants to play simple things with the guitar looped :)
Bro, I played that last year! I’m a clarinet player, so when I joined, I got the trumpet parts, usually 3rd or 2nd. We have one pice this year that has Clarinet Part, which is exciting!
I love that you do these, it helps me practice when I can spend time trying to play and actual tune. Not just scales and long tones etc. Are these available in a book? Like the real book or something? I've got a Real Book, but I've found there are different editions that have different songs.
@@TheBlackTrumpeter Thanks, a lot of them, such as Equinox, are way out of my range in the Real Book. So these are really helpful. They help motivate me, and put in the time, working on articulation, slotting, tone and clarity, and agility, while having a little fun. Not just exercises.
Wish I could learn. But...the one I rent. The thing's stick. I did eventually get me mouth to make the correct shape to make a note though. Not as easy as it looks folks. 😂
Where can I find where this is from I googled “killer joe sheet music” and it didn’t pop up the only things that did were way out of my skill level do you have a link of some kind where you found this?
Hey do you have those music sheets for sale or something? I'm interested to have ones with the numbers of the valves like those ! Thanks for your work and advice appreciate !

I played this in a little jazz combo in college. It was up an octave and not so simple after a 2 hour set 😂. Great memories
Yeah up an octave is definitely not easy
I was just thinking to show my 8th grade son to play it like this & I’d harmonize with him on our trumpets lol 😂❤❤❤❤ right on!
Bet your lips were beyond pain, already numb by then lol 😅❤
I love killer Joe
It was an amazing song while I played it

You're welcome! What's giving you the most trouble trying to work the trumpet during solos?
Trumpets and saxophones sound really similar
Love the split screen with music and hand positions
Saludos maestro...desde Colombia,que lindo suena
I'm glad that the sheet music and fingering are easy to see!
Exelentes aulas 👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍 Sou Ricardo Martinez curto todos seus videos aqui do Brasil 🎺🎺🎺🎺
Love the numbers! Kinda like guitar tabs. Helps a noob.
I’ve picked my horn up after 25 years and wow, it’s crazy that I could play this along with the video. Thanks for making these videos!
Exelente exelente 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

The letters above the notes are very handy indeed if all music was written this way the learning curve would be much higher.

Oh cool, I played this for jazz band in middle school!
Love this song ❤️
As a pro sax plsyer learning trumpet thanks!!
@@MrAbomb234 you’re welcome
I used play for YOLA, I haven’t touched my trumpet in 10 years. I’m so glad I discovered you.

My mom wanted to have me play the trumpet on mother's day, wish I saw this video! Sounds jazzy as heck
Father’s Day is coming up. You can play it for your family then.

I play the trombone, and I gotta say, your videos are amazing!! They bring me happiness, good music, and a lesson! :)

Need more of this series!! Just starting the trumpet and would love some nice smooth songs like this to practice!!! Thanks man!
Nice! When did you start?
As I was watching this, my dad was listening and told me he played it in his high school jazz band. Pretty dope coincidence! :)

I love it!!! I’ve been working on OutKast’s piece Spottie Ottie for the trumpet; can you help me please?….
Glad to hear it. What’s giving you trouble with that tune?
My left ear enjoyed this

Да читать эт запросто... тут главное манера игры ⛵
Nice tone man
Thank you
The first three notes remind me of "along came betty" by art blakey, it's almost identical
i played this for jazz band last yea but a lil harder version, very fun song tho
Muito bom broder? Quero voltar a assistir suas aulas dr bebope jazz.😊
Can you do a video on how to read jazz cords for an improve solo?
Noted!
Amazing ❤. What the name of composer and peace?
It is "Killer Joe" by Benny Golson. Until two months ago, I never knew what its name was.
Wow interesting just awesome 👍👍👍, I'm a beginner anyway could you please do me some videos please 🙏🙏🙏
As a beginner, what is your biggest challenge?
Man I need to know how your trumpet sounds so nice?
More pls? Thx!
Will do! 😄
Smooth
This is a good song but I don’t like it too much as a piece but this guy plays it amazing

Nice one
@@philipazere6680 thank you!
me personally i love the upper octave
Me too
One thing I learned is that when you close your eyes you make a more clear sound
It helps me focus on the music. Too much processing power when my eyes are open.
How do you recommend getting into brass instruments? I play jazz bass and piano, and really want to learn trumpet or trombone.
What concerns do you have about learning a brass instrument?
What mouthpiece setup are you using? Do you like modular mouthpieces?
Never tried modular mouthpieces. I play a Bach 3C
you remember me my Father
I only have one kid 😂
👏
Hi Aaron, Is it possible for you to send me this Easy Jazz Song on sheet music so I can practice?
I have a trumpet and I want to play jazz music on my trumpet
You came to the right place then
How long do you recommend i practice everyday?
At least 2 to 5 minutes and only 50% of that time should be actual playing. The other half should be resting.
@@TheBlackTrumpeter ok, thank you!
Do you have the easy jazz sheet music downloaded on your website?
Wish I could learn. But...the one I rent. The thing's stick. I did eventually get me mouth to make the correct shape to make a note though. Not as easy as it looks folks. 😂
Legend has it no one knows what his eyes look like
😂
Not Easy, Beauty.
Notes are easy but to turn it into art…not as easy. You’re right
Slightly weird question but are the notes written in relative pitch or concert pitch (new to trumpet)
It’s written in trumpet pitch (Bb)
@@TheBlackTrumpeter thanks
Where can I find where this is from I googled “killer joe sheet music” and it didn’t pop up the only things that did were way out of my skill level do you have a link of some kind where you found this?
Trumpet is so hard
Smooth bro thank you for sharinbg
Ok so just looking at the notes what key would this be in? Then check your answer if you know how.
I didn't realized that this shorts have been playing continuously for more than 2 hr, it's very addictive.
Can someone tell me why the D is played with 1 and 2 down and not 1 and 3? Is this a sharp? And if it is, where does it say to play the D sharp?
Hi, Black Trumpeter! Will there be any sheet music available on this piece?
0:00
Это классно 😅
Thank you
Hey do you have those music sheets for sale or something? I'm interested to have ones with the numbers of the valves like those ! Thanks for your work and advice appreciate !
Hi, where can I get the sheet music for this song?
is this in concert pitch?
It’s in Bb transposition. Do you play a concert pitch instrument?
@@TheBlackTrumpeter yeah I'm a violist. I'm used to reading alto sax stuff, so I'll figure it out. just wanted to know if I had transpose or nah
muito.ora min praticar?
What’s your question?
What trumpet is that?
Trumpet silver
It’s might have a sliniscer
"Sir, you're at work, pls no more trumpet.. "
😂😂
Isn't it killer Joe? I played with my jazz band in middle school a year ago.
Brother what mouthpiece is that one you have ????
Bach 3C. What do you like most about my mouthpiece?
From the video it looks like a mouthpiece Roy Hargrove used, I haven’t been able to identify the brand.
How come theirs f in the music but you are putting b for f
Dude your neck is ripped do I get a neck like that if I play trumpet
Toqué esas notas en el piano y no suena igual :v
The notes are written for trumpet. Trumpet plays in a different key.
Phew..this is a HARD instrument to get a clean not out of 🤷..my lips are killing me
Rest up and try again. You got it! 😄
is he showing off that he can do it with his eyes closed or is he vibing idk
i’m vibing. I play better with my eyes closed
the B section😰😰😰
