I was old enough to have seen and own these W126 (300 SE & 420 SEL) when they were new and pre-owned with pristine condition at couple Mercedes dealerships Great solid cars.
Yeah I’m still checking the local classifieds every week or two hoping to find a good one.
The mistress and Mrs found a 126 grey Mr 300SE and a 420 SEL this one is a gray Mr 7 series probably this is a 735 it is a 735 ill and it has the b35 3.5 l inline 6 it is the 735 ill that has equipped with a Mr interior this one is a 1989 gray Mr 300SE probably this has the m103 3.0 l inline 6
This is a good idea! When new car price is so high and EV is coming, most of current ICE car owners will just keep fixing current cars. And this is environment friendly work.
I think it's still less risky to buy cheap cars to fix. I sold a few project cars in the past few years, some bought pre-COVID, one from a friend's throw away car recently. They can be sold as long as it works. All made 1~3k from each one of them, mostly labor cost. This way you will never lose money.
That S class 300SE was an awesome car. I wish you could have bought it at auction before the public destroyed it.
Not sure if it's easy to sell like this. As the used car price is so high right now, it's hard to flip cars too. I am also willing to fix car to sell, but it's hard to find cheap cars to make decent profits.
Yeah if you could have got that 300SE whole before the hacks you could part it out with care. Primo condition for sure.
